  • "No One is listening, can any body hear me?"

"No body is listening, Can any One hear me?"

No listening is to be heard, Any One?"

It all seems like such hard work only, it isn`t

  • yo guitar player...you're not listening to the violin player!

  • This was the second time I saw Laurie at The Stone in Jan. 08. The previous was with Lou Reed and John Zorn. Both sets were fantastic, as was Marc's preceding solo set. I'd like to hear more of Laurie's improvisational side on record. (Part of the performance with Reed and Zorn is available on CD from The Stone.

  • Looks like mark is playing a Harmony H44 Stratotone..original no doubt...

  • anche io so suonare il violino cosi, pari pari, e dunque sono artista? mah

  • I love Marc's improvising . . . though I enjoy some of his work I've always complained that a lot of Derek Bailey's live work is a little less than musical on occassion but everything Marc plays is musical just improvised structurally . . . I like that a lot . . . he makes free improv good for guitar

  • Avanguardia? Più che altro questa mi sembra una bella presa per il culo!

  • I didn't know if the guitarist was playing plugged in. I was really pleased to hear some violin from Laurie. AllMusicGuide said she mostly uses it as a prop. I've been aware of her for a long time, but am not familiar with her music.

  • Laurie is actually an accomplished violinist. Studied at the Chicago Acadmey for the arts.

She invented a Tape-Bow Violin where the bow is actually audio tape and the body is a tape player, and it plays like a violin and makes the best sounds. :)

  • Yeah, Allmusic wasn't discrediting her musicianship, it's just that she seems to rarely play it on her albums I guess. I've always liked her, but still becoming acquainted with her art.

  • Listen to Here With You from Life on a String.

Back in the day, she had her feet frozen in a block of ice and played acouctic violin until the ice thawed out, and she could walk away (about two hours).

  • very cool...great sounds! i, too, would highly prefer the guitar to be a bit more up in da mix. thanks fer posting and sharing! i look fwd to visiting The Stone and N.Y.C. sooner than later a.s.a.p.

  • thanks for posting this - sounds great, looks great. i don't think homeland is out yet? hope im wrong!

  • really really really really AMAZIN !!!

  • , it's Laurie's world, we just web in it.

  • neatly done!!! Cannot wait until next Friday to see her again ô¿ô

  • WOW

  • Abstruse little Avante Garde jam here. Ribot really needed to be higher in the mix. "Homeland" should be out soon.

    Thanks for posting this.
