I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Falun Dafa is a cultivation system in the Buddha School based on the principles of the Universe: 真 Truthfulness 善 Compassion 忍 Forbearance.
Since 1999 it has been brutally persecuted by the CCP in China. People are being killed, tortured, put into concentration camps and have organs harvested from live people, simply because of their belief. More than 3400 Falun Gong practitioners have died at the hands of CCP in the past 12 years.
at 5.04 maharaj says 'this (question) is difficult to understand' (probably becaquse the people arround were saying the questioner did not understand maharaj's question.)
he says 'i am not saying there will not be a true seeker, there may be one. but because of this should i be answering each and every question. you tell me. what he asks me is right from his perspective and is necessary for him to understand. but it is not possible for me to answer all this." (i think hes just pissed off at the level of questioning :), the tranlsator puts it more politely later)
at 4.07 maharaj says 'has space entered this room or not? why and how has it entered?'
at 2.10 maharaj says "1 week before conception, or a thousand years, you were. and you are now and will be henceforth as well. and that is the great fun of it. then he says chitanand (self-joy or being-joy) a few times and claps / rolls his hands about.
at 2.30 he says 'well brother what do you say'
at 2.59 he complains 'now what i am saying to you, i should stop talking henceforth. what i will say now, these people will not understand. now there may be a special one,
I find the english translator in the clips not being strict in translation, but inserting his own views. Not to belittle that translation, but he does not translate the Marathi words word to word.
So here goes
At 1.17: Maharaj says "As you are now you will be like this always. This is Gyan.( Knowledge)
From 1.35 he says "(Cannot catch the begining, i think he says to help you ) I will give it a name 'parabrahman' (the highest or ultimate brahman)
@violinore perhaps the translator is a long time student; so all Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj has to do is give him pointers on which metaphor to use, or which logical construction works best; although if you follow closely Maharaj also gives longer explanations in some cases.
Interesting, he exclaims few single words and the translator translates it as many noble long sentences ... I always had a feeling all these words were quite improved, polished and developed by many other people ... (as we can read in the books etc.)
How can one overcome the ego, while it doesn't even exist? Isn't the desire to eliminate the ego not another trick of the ego? Most people who engage into spirituality end up chasing ghosts, and keep on pushing a revolving door instead of a straight one, where you can walk through immediately...
Every step in the direction of liberation, becomes a new one to overcome. In fact you probably made enough steps forward, away from your true nature, so why not take the major step back to yourself?
In refererence to the question "how & why did the space enter this room"...
made me pause... & then I believe I saw.... the space IS NOT IN THE ROOM, the ROOM IS IN SPACE.... similarly, all happens in consciousness, not separate from it
I can understand what he is saying, Counciousness is like a force field, where "Thought" is like switching of this Counciousness. Whenever there is thought "I am" is Implied with it, So this process is called Conception or perception. He says to experience the stage before conception, where subject experiences Natural Force itself. So he is the nature himself, "I am" is just a illusion.
In a nutshell, if you focus on the 'I am' long enough, you will see the 'I am' disappear ie. ego dissolves and you are in the absolute or Parabrahman state. This state is eternal. It is pure consciousness. It belongs to nobody as it is the consciousness expressed by the molecules of your bodily fluids, muscles, bones and fat - matter coming together to produce something called as a body. Without the body, you still exist.
The ego I am referring to is what Nisargadatta calls "Beingness". By dwelling on the 'I am', the beingness burns itself. When it is complete, the pure consciousness is experienced. The ego or Beingness is nothing but the consciousness mixed with the food(ie five elements. ). To experience pure consciousness, you have to go beyond the Beingness. Suffering still exists in the mind and the body. But pure consciousness which is you will not be a part of the suffering. So practice is required.
@SamuelSkelter Pure consciousness is what is called as Bliss or the Self. That is what you are. It can be experienced and its already being experience by everyone.
the reality of life is the understanding of the movement of thought that brings about consciousness. to exist in the now, the movement of thought must be understood deeply. then the past will disappear and therefore the future will not be projected as a modification of the past. all beliefs, traditions, religions, concepts and theories are not real life and to begin to live freely one must be free of all belief and past knowledge based on ideas. when events become thoughts life ceases to be.
What is also interesting is the fact that he says few words and the translator follows with few sentences ... The question is who is the real author of that (great) book ...
dnhvuh13rvnn1erjnjiwenvijnweir Oh thankyou oh mighty I of the universe if you are that then ,whom am I ? I am of course life itself the mighty I of the whole the cosmos ,I am cosmically conscious.
No. The west simply never questions the observer but merely accepts the observed as gospel. Even Einstein came to the conclusion that science simply cannot answer the deepest questions of what life is and who we are. After years of studying science and engineering and getting multiple degrees, I've come to the same conclusion. You're stuck in the "dogma" of scientific belief that anything and everything that's real needs to be observed by the senses.
Boy, you are so off base with Nisargadatta Maharaj. It shows how little you know about the man. First off, 'enlightenment' is not and simply cannot ever be a goal. Maharaj clearly states that. Second, the man lived in the slums of Bombay. He didn't charge anyone to hear him talk and didn't require anything of anyone. He wasn't stuck in some massive ego trip like a lot of modern day 'gurus' and 'scientists' are. Read the book 'I Am That'. You may find it very 'enlightening'.
Its waste arguing with pingbong44. He can never understand. As Maharaj said, the rarest only can perceive the inner meaning. For others, these are mere words. he is strongly personalized, and asking questions on that level. Just reading the book will not do. he has never asked these questions to himself.
Unlucky, you had to meet two fools on this page, and hear about their 'Master Fool' lived in Bombay. And better you don't waste your precious time and knowledge. Nice to hear that all the 'enlightened ones' are just weak people.
u have no idea how easy u can loose what u think to be your own. nothing here is your own. everything given to u is just a loan. u will see in time and your arrogant mind will suffer great pain. but with most of us, its the only remedy.
Like U understand his words!!! The only thing advanced in U (CT2507) is your pompous inflated pride. Who are you to tell others that Sri Nisragadatta is too advanced for them? Mind your business first. Some may find "I am that" useless. So what? You have read "I am that" 10 times, but to what avail? You are still screwed up in your head. People like you don't deserve a master like Sri Nisargadatta. U have not figured out who that U is after reading his book 10 times. How dare you lecture ?
U cannot say anything nice about Sri Maharaj's teaching yourself. But U can trash talk and call others names. U can get a PHD for name calling. Just look at your own posts and you brag to others you are an advanced seeker. Says a lot about U. And you have read I am that 10 times? You don't even have the intelligence to post proper relevant comments. Yawn, mad dog barking!. Bhagavan Nisragadatta please cure this mad dog CT2507. Please, please give this mad dog enlightenment so it will stop barking and biting others for no reason. It has read your book I am That 10 times and gone completely mad and is filled with hate. Please cure it.
Sri Nisargadatta says if you read the book 11 time your mouth will get cleansed and if you read it the 12 th time you could even get enlightened and get cured of your mental illness. Better yet go see a psychiatrist first. That might help you calm your nerves. You are too excited now. Maybe you popped your usual pills. My my, mad dog loose.
Does anyone know of any Self Realized Gurus comparable to Ramana Maharshi or Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj? I'm think about making a trip to India to find such a teacher.
One such I can think of is 'viswamji' near Guntur of Andhra Pradesh. But as these gurus including JK pointed out, 'seeing' the nature of our very own 'self' is what needed.
I'm been practicing a similar sadhana to that which Maharaj recommended for a while now. I've had some success, but I may want to spend time in the presence of a realized Guru soon to accelerate the process of coming to a complete understanding what I am not so that what I am can be fully revealed unmuddled by the misunderstandings I have about my true nature. In particular I'm looking for a Guru similar to Maharaj so I can continue under their guidance the same practice I am involved in.
Ivorbernhart, I`ve only come to know to the same highly developed souls You already found by Yourself and who are no more under the living, like Jiddu Krishnamurti, Osho, Ramana Maharshi and so on. Someone who probably falls out of this line is Sathya Sai Baba, but after having stayed at his place for a longer time just 20 years ago, I would give You the advise of visiting him, when You are doing the trip to India. Good Luck, may God bless You.
Nisargatta was a SAGE, and as of Osho, Osho did to himself what Judas did to Christ, and the temptations Christ denied in the dessert, which are with-in us all, Osho embraced...
sri nisargadatta maharaj is .....there are no words...to explain the beauty and love of this man. Read his books, without beeing the reader and you will understand the whole universe and you will fall in Love with the whole existence.
but it is the fact that you are interested in gurus,if you don't like him, forget about him and try another one till you find the riht one for yourself, there are too many of them!
He's the one for me. I only wish I could read more and see more videos. But that's just my laziness coming through, wanting this guy's wonderful philosophy directed at me all the time, without having to do the work myself.
The only thing you have to do is to be aware of your laziness without trying to defeat it.If you focus your attention to any mood for observation, you will see that it disappears by itself. This is just like to lost the ability to see the blue color on the sky when you stare it.
"The knowledge "I am" is the primary God" This is the definition of God in Maharaj's talks,i.e.,God is just a knoowledge, and of course needs to be translated if necessary!First you should read or listen before making comment Aiddyysha
God doesn't need anything, correct. What we do need is a bonafide Guru, in authorized diciplic succesion to show us the right way, in other words the path to perfection, or Bhakti.
Thank YOU SO much for posting all these rarer than the rarest gem footages of this century's greatest Saint. I feel it as nectar, as crytal glacial water rinsing away the muck of kalpas of spiritual gunk. All Praises to the highest, who then spreads his Darshan, his height of prospect or vision, to those of us praying for his precious words and selfness, gentle like Shiva's most devastating mouuntain lightning bolts.
The simplicity of a True Guru is that He points out that the Ultimate Guru is YOU. Staying with the Bare-Bones of I AM, all is seen and suffering ends as the false identity snaps. Huge Gratitude here for Maharaj!
The key to life ... Focus on the space, not the walls; the relationship, not the objects/persons; the being, not the body/mind organism; life, not lifestyle. We miss it by looking at the objects/tangible things. Because they are easier to see with our eyes. The intangible is where it is. The subtle, not the gross.
This statement is more than 3000 years old ... found in many Hindu scriptures. It has been repeated and will be forever. Whenever it is said, it may mean something different. Because it is not the words, but something much deeper than that. This is true for all things that are said. To hear the deeper meaning, you have to listen to the person who is saying it ... without a response. Those that listen this way, will truly hear the meaning of what that person is saying ... others will miss it.
When the mind is quieted, what's left over is the feelingness of "I AM" or "I AM THAT I AM" only. Not, I am Tom, Dick or Harry, or I am a lawyer, carpenter, accountant, which comes from the head/ego. Just I am that I am -- the Pure "I" that is immortal. Some say, "I am That," some say, "I am that I am," some say, "I am I AM," some say, "I-I." These are mere labels for the Beingness that is always Here and which is beyond labels.
so your talking about the impersonal Brahman, The Bhramajyoti? If we are impersonal beings the why do we associate with the personal, like this body I have, why is that personal?
Get out of your head and just be as you are. What is Here that never changes? Experience That directly. The mind will never know God as the mind is an instrument of limitation. Go for direct experience of Being. Do this repeatedly, again and again. You already know who you are. You never forget for a moment. You just look away from it due to mental/emotional tendencies. We all do.
It is explained in this video itself. "Space" is there inside this room and also outside. Are they separate ? Same way, what prevails always is one. You can't separate it as personal and impersonal.
I am sure he doesn't even know who Popeye is. This statement is more than 3000 years old. It has been repeated and will be forever. Whenever it is said, it may mean something different. Because it is not the words, but something much deeper than that. This is true for all things that are said. To hear the deeper meaning, you have to listen to the person who is saying it ... without a response.

but it is the fact that you are interested in gurus,if you don't like him, forget about him and try another one till you find the riht one for yourself, there are too many of them!

He's the one for me. I only wish I could read more and see more videos. But that's just my laziness coming through, wanting this guy's wonderful philosophy directed at me all the time, without having to do the work myself.
rotagen5 3 years ago
The only thing you have to do is to be aware of your laziness without trying to defeat it.If you focus your attention to any mood for observation, you will see that it disappears by itself. This is just like to lost the ability to see the blue color on the sky when you stare it.

this guy is clearly bogus. He doesn't appear to me to have very many divine qualities.
He is more or less a knower of things, but the question remains where is his ego?

"The knowledge "I am" is the primary God" This is the definition of God in Maharaj's talks,i.e.,God is just a knoowledge, and of course needs to be translated if necessary!First you should read or listen before making comment Aiddyysha
izzetbalci 4 years ago
So why is God knowlege? Who, what is God? Who am I. Can you explain this to me?
Arsenio108 3 years ago
No, no one can can explain what God is. But you can experience God directly as your ever-present sense of "I AM" when nothing is added to it.
Nisargadatta is a bonafide Guru, yet He is also way beyond that. He's a bhakta, no doubt, like Ramana.
Bhakti and jnana when seen rightly are the same. Love and true Self-knowledge are identical.
Bhakti is very good. And, it leads to re-discovering what was never lost. Self-inquiry is the most direct path, though bhakti is easier for most.
you2ubed 3 years ago
God doesn't need anything, correct. What we do need is a bonafide Guru, in authorized diciplic succesion to show us the right way, in other words the path to perfection, or Bhakti.

I had hated all the teachers until I met him by his book "I am that"

Yes I agree "I am That" the last spiritual book I'll ever read. It gives the clear and concise guidance to move into the end game.

Kannan000 4 years ago
When the mind is quieted, what's left over is the feelingness of "I AM" or "I AM THAT I AM" only. Not, I am Tom, Dick or Harry, or I am a lawyer, carpenter, accountant, which comes from the head/ego. Just I am that I am -- the Pure "I" that is immortal. Some say, "I am That," some say, "I am that I am," some say, "I am I AM," some say, "I-I." These are mere labels for the Beingness that is always Here and which is beyond labels.
you2ubed 4 years ago
so your talking about the impersonal Brahman, The Bhramajyoti? If we are impersonal beings the why do we associate with the personal, like this body I have, why is that personal?
If I am Brahman the why have I forgotten?
Can anyone explain this to me???
Arsenio108 3 years ago
Get out of your head and just be as you are. What is Here that never changes? Experience That directly. The mind will never know God as the mind is an instrument of limitation. Go for direct experience of Being. Do this repeatedly, again and again. You already know who you are. You never forget for a moment. You just look away from it due to mental/emotional tendencies. We all do.

@you2ubed well said!

It is explained in this video itself. "Space" is there inside this room and also outside. Are they separate ? Same way, what prevails always is one. You can't separate it as personal and impersonal.

"I am That" is Nisargadatta's statement of who/what he is. "I am what I am" is ripped off from Popeye the Sailorman

Nisargadatta Maharaj
