You don't see many drummers really incorporating cymbal chokes into their beats or solos..etc Thats a Very unique thing in itself ,most just blaze through somethings....chops..etc He's not like that,he couldn't be being Mj's drummer! Mj's music is very driving and steady,what its all about! "Keeping the pocket" Johnathan does that greatly! He's an unique drummer,and he's got a great personality,very humble.Great dude overall!!!

@UnluckilyEnlightened I think the cymbal choking probably really took off for him while playing with michael jackson. There were A LOT of cymbal choke samples on Dangerous, and with all the stop and go stuff MJ did live during his dance routines that required cymbal chokes, it probably became second nature.
