  • I just bought my first tarantula! Its a beautiful Chilean Rose hair and I did not anticipate how sharp its legs are. Ive only held him once so far, I literally got him, or her, 30 mins ago and now Im getting his tank ready. Gives me the creeps, I love it! What I dont know, and Im sure I could look up is how much to feed it a week. Im guessing once or twice. Anybody wanna save me some effort and lemme know? Thanks!

  • I really wouldn't put this as "How to handle a tarantula" I can pick a bunch of things wrong with it. You get used to handling a certain spider a certain way and clearly with this one it's fine but some Ts would bite the crap out of you handled like this. You basically touched the fangs with your fingers, that's rule one of what NOT to do.

  • @iansheridan123 As you can see in the information about this video this is a method for handling calm tarantula species. I would never recommend handling more aggressive species this way (therefore I kind of regret that I used my old L. parahybana for this, as it's counted as a aggressive species) I can't see where I'm touching the fangs, and I never did because of what your saying. This video was a intended first in a series on how to handle/pick up different species, but I never got so far :)

  • As I saw the tarantula my first word was AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh

  • Where did you get your cage?

  • hey i got tarantulas and im just wondering if its bad if u handle them 2 much

  • @TarantelBiss Yes, you don't want to over handle any of them. Stress is makes more susceptible to disease, and may keep them from eating. Each tarantula, depending on species/personality, can tolerate more handling than others.

  • i know rosies are supposed to be easy to handle but... is it true that 1 in 100 are savage? if i put my hand i front of it even it will flip at me raise its front legs and then you can see his fangs : / . and once also i put a cotton stick well cushiony thing in rofl anyway it attacked it looked like it was raping it for truth...

  • hello chivampir, I have a specimen, female, of A.geniculata, a Brazilian White Knee, how do you handle one, i seen people do the same technique as yours, OR they press down the on the cephalthroax, and laying 2 fingers on each side between the 2 first legs and lift it up...which one is suitable

  • ChiVampir will you add me as a freind and btw I got teh avicularia avicularia like you recommended and its working out i have had her for about 3 weeks. Btw what type of tarantula is that

  • Hey bro I am a spider type person and I adore them and think thier cute except for teh ones bigger than your head (LOL) but im gona get a tarantula and my pet store sells pink toes for like 17 dollars and another spider whcih I forgort but anyway I never handled a tarantula before but I have held regular spiders and stuff and im fine with that but what do you think would be a good starter spider and im just a little worried to pick it up so my questions is do they bite when you pick them up?

  • @theman32able Hi! If it's and Avicularia sp. it's good starter tarantula (I really recommend Avicularia avicularia). Remember that all arboreal species is capable of running really fast for short distances, so handle it over a surface like a table. Place the terrarium on the table and stay calm and do as in this video. Most Avicularia spp. don't bite unless they feel threatened. Anyway I don't recommend handling tarantulas often as this is just unnecessary stress for them.

  • can i feed lizard for my tarantula?

  • How do you know if they are angry or upset?

  • @mlisaoverdrive If it's angry or scared you will know as it will tell you by raising on it's rear legs and flash it fangs, or ;) And if it's upset or nervous it will try to climb upwards or flee.

  • sorry to say but in the wild tarantulas do eat mice. It is though bad for them i agree. and A rose hair is too small. The rosie could take it down if it wanted to but it would be a fight. Only feed mice once a year or once every 6 months. only for super special occasions. Feed the mice to blondies or LP's. i even seen someone feed a P. ornata was and the ornata came down and bit it then ran away then later the mouse died and the ornata ate it i assummed. roaches r the best. they dont smell.

  • It's true that they occasionally catch mice in the wild, but this is very rare. There is two reasons for this: Mice is very quick and has a fine eyesight so they will see the tarantula before it attacks. The second one is because they are too big for most of them. The truth is that tarantulas are evolved to only eat other invertebrates.

Before people tended to feed females with eggsacks with pinkies for extra nutrition, but this was before it was proved to be harmful.

  • The best food for most tarantulas (Rosie's, Pink Toe's) are captive grown crickets (from a pet store). I would not catch anything out of a yard as it could have a pesticide on it that could possibly harm the spider.

  • That's true :) But many other insects can be used as well, like roaches, grasshoppers, some beetle larva, maggots, pill bugs and many more. But as you say it's best to use feeders that's breed in captivity.

  • i have a question that i cant seem to find a answer for...I have a chilean rose tarantula, only been through 1 molt. now if i were to start feeding her pinkies and or small mice 1 day, do i have a greater chance of being bitten? i mean it sounds silly, but when they've tasted red blood, whats stopping them from digging in when handling? 5/5 video too ^^

  • Firstly: You should never feed a tarantula with mice, birds, fish or any other vertebrate as it's not part of a tarantulas natural diet, and actually harms the tarantula. So please feed it with grasshoppers or roaches if you want to see it taking big prey.

And then your question: No, it will sense that you are to big for it to kill and eat. But as any other tarantula it can bite in self-defence.

Good luck with your spiderling ;)

  • oic. I thought that maybe id have to add a bit of variety in its diet. thx for the help btw

  • Gawd i love these creatures...

  • The number one rule to holding a tarantula is DON'T.

  • I agree with you.

Tarantulas is not animals you can sit and cuddle with.

But some times it's useful to know handling, like with this tarantula it was used to help people with arachnophobia.

Calm species can tolerate handling, but they will never enjoy it. Therefore I teach people to just handle when they have to.

  • that doesn't look nothing like my l.parahybana's and there around the same size

  • But I can assure you that it is. It's just a small juvenile and they don't look like the adults.

  • I hold mine after a few drinks and I have never been bitten never dropped or hurt one, as long as youre not an idiot holding a tarantula is easy

  • ChiVampir what are the list of aggressive species;? can you give some??

    thanks

  • It's more species that will not tolerate handling than the are species that do. The most clam species are from Grammostola spp. and Brachypelma spp. (but species inside this genus also tends to kick hairs). But be aware that aggressive or very nervous individuals can appear.

  • @Devilzon if you want a tarantula non aggressive just pick out a rosie red knees actually what i wanted (my fave spider loks so cool holloweenish check them out !!!

  • @harrypotterboii There's no such thing as a Rosie Red Kneed. You're mixing Chilean rose hairs with Mexican red knees ;) Rosies are a bit more unpredictable, a great starter tarantula is actually a Honduran curly hair (Brachypelma albopilosum). They're very docile, get to be a fair size, and they're easy to care for.

  • lol the music

  • Before I got my own tarantula, the guy at the at store would allow me to hold some of them (he still lets me everytime I go there to buy crikets)

So when I frist held one of their tarantulas, the little darling wouldn't go back to the cage, it keept climbing my arm.

That was one of the funniest moments of my life.

  • what a great life you must have then

  • Your T has a pretty cute enclosure. Do you have any of the arboreal species?

  • I had, but right now I just have borrowing species as they are the tarantulas I'm most fascinated by.

  • how soon can u start handling your new pet tarantula?

  • After a moth, when it's settled in it's new environment.

  • OH MY GOD A BUG! LOL

just kidding i have a gramostola rosea... she's only bit me once...

she falled from my arm...and when i went to put it back she was stressed out and bit me...it's not pretty the bite (too deep) but it's more painfull the bite itself than the venom...

the venom desapeared after the 2nd day... but the fangs... my gosh! the fangs went too deep in the skin!

but either way i learned... never pick up a fallen tarantula with ur hand!!!

  • oh great, theres me trying to pluck the courage to pick my c.rose up and i read this!!! lol. i handled her the first day i got it to put into the enclosure, and she has good and bad days now, but i have never handled her again. the paint brush method works to calm them, but if they are capable of deep mechanical fang stabing action then she can stay the fuck in her house lol

  • rofl

  • thank you so much!!!!!!!!

  • so is a rose hare ok to handle? i got mine about 3 years ago when she was tiney and i used to hold her alot! but its been 2 years and shes realy big now! is it ok for me to hold her again? do they forget how to be handled over time?

  • I own a rose hair and she is pretty big. I would say about 5 or 6 inches. She is very gentle and easy to handle.

  • @linnix13 they are the most handable spider sin my appinion but... i have one (1-1000 can be savage well i got the 1 ) aahahahha but i am DETERMINED to change her mind about the agressive ness

  • Yea i'm using this rule with ground species only ofc. And if it's about L. parahybana's behaviour i must say i have a couple of them and i totally agree with you that they're agressive (male always assume an attitude of defence when i'm trying to feed him, my female could be handled but sometimes she's unpredictable too). Well, what kind of species do you also have?

  • You can find my animal list on my webpage Brachypema, org (replace , with .) ;)

  • ok thanks! :)

  • Yea but his abdomen is black, just like before molt, u see i have a lot of tarantulas (16) and most of them have "black ass" before molt, i guess that your spider molted 2 months after because of this clip. i mean cuz u bothered him, u know what i mean ;)

  • Sorry but you are wrong about this individual. But as a general rule you can use the "black-abdomen-rule". I also have a lot of tarantulas (right now 8, but I had over 30, since I'm studying) and right now I'm studying to become a arachologist.

But I agree with you that the use of tarantula (L. parahybana is as you maybe know counted as a aggressive species) and the signs that can be picket up as molt was stupid of me. I think that have been mentioned before in the comments of this video.

  • "* Do not handle the tarantula before a molt, or when it's eating"

i'd like to say, that u just did it on that movie... moron

  • No i didn't. This taratula molted 2 months after this clip. But since it's a juvenile and since it had kicked of some hairs on it's abdomen I can see why you think that.

  • NICE....GOOD JOB

  • i hate being an aracnophobic becouse i think spiders and tarantuals are awsome and amazing.

  • You seem like you know a lot about tarantulas. I have a Chilean Rose, supposedly, a very docile, good starter breed.

At first she was great, sweet, easy to hold, came out willingly...

But now, she's VERY aggressive. I can't even take the water bowl out of her tank without her leaping at my hand, or rearing. She constantly whips around and tries to snap at the brush I have when I try to usher her away to fix something in her tank, and she seems very edgy. Have I done something wrong?

  • After what you tell me I can not tell if you have done something wrong. Maybe you are the owner of one of the more aggressive individuals of this specie. I myself is also an owner of an aggressive Grammostola rosea (Chilean rose).

If your terrarium set-up matches the requirements mentioned in the caresheet for this species on my webpage or on Spiderfreaks you have done nothing wrong in it's environment that can cause this kind of behaviour.

  • rose hairs are chilians arent they? Im really intrigued about getting one of these little guys. But I want to make sure i take all the proper precautions when handling one.

  • Yes they are.

A little tip: Use the scientific name (Grammostola rosea) instead of it's pop name when you are looking for information on a species.

  • Thanks for the tips

  • when she or he feels nervous the tarantula dosent move X) btw i have my tarantula B.smithi all the time on the face i mean most of it and it walks all over me when it comes to the end she dosent go down she climbs back on me she dosent go any where from my side not even 1cm :Di feel like a dady :3

  • what if your cage opens from the top, how do you pick it up then, cause i am looking to buy a tarantula

  • mine hasnt eaten in 6weeks and now its on its back ive had it 6months and its hasnt molted yet,i assume that means its molting, can anyone tell me how long that might take, roughly?

  • It can take from some minutes to some days.

  • shit... one day i picked up my gramostola rosea, and after a while, (5/10 min) i trie to put her in the terranium, but she hates when i put her back!

So she doesn't hesitate... she fckn bit me!

hurt like hell, but although nice vid... good tips

    XD

  • damn your video is so tense omg i though u might have gone blind from the seriounois

  • i have a chilean rose hair who is about to molt, so i cant hold it right now... but she is so cute!!!!!!!!!

  • oh man fuck that!! i am never going to hold a tarantula. lol

  • What might have been the most intense music ever lol

  • Really good video, good music and well made!

  • Thank you ^^

  • excuse me i just wondered if its bad for a tarantula to have a bald spot on its abdoment please message back

  • No, sometimes this just indicates that a molt is around the corner ;) Often you will see a that the bald spot turns black because of the new hairs under the old skin.

But a bald spot can also indicate that it's nervous and not comfortable with the terrarium.

  • mine has a bald spot does that mean its about to molt

  • Sometimes, if the bald spot has turned black it indicates that a molt is soon around the corner ;)

Be aware that a bald spot also can indicate that the tarantula is nervous, and not comfortable in it's environment. Or it can indicate that it has been scared and tried throw it's hairs against the scary thing.

  • You have wrote "Basic rules:

    * Do not handle aggressive species;.."

But normaly it must called: "If it really really NOT necessary, so don´t handle any time a tarantula".

If you want handle something, you should get buy a cat, dog or a rat or something like that.

  • I rarely handle my tarantulas, most of them have never been handled (if you don't count moving them in a box to a new terrarium when needed).

But I like to have one handleable individual since I help people to get rid of their arachnophobia.

Hope you feel that we understand each other now.

  • Now than it´s ok!

Than I am sorry to wrote that.

  • Isn't the Salmon Pink an aggressive species?

  • Well, technically its not aggressive but it is known to be a nervous species. Its much more docile than the damn Goliath Birdeater. Thats why most people prefer the Salmon pinks cause they get close to the size of Goliaths and they are cheaper.

  • Yea I read that you can come across a calm Salmon Pink from time to time, congrats on getting one haha.

  • Kill it !!!!!!!! Kill it !!!! :)

Just kidding, awesome little pet :)

i wish my wife weren't afraid of spiders, i would get one :(

  • i would cowar with fear if i saw a tarrantula

  • I like your enclosure... it's nice!

  • nicely done...

  • haha wicked.

i just got a tarantula today.. just out of the random. and i went home with my friend to "play with it" but i didnt really know how so i just used gloves incase.. ill probably get used to it with my bare hands soon, and this video helped a bit so thanks

btw do u know how to tell the gender of a tarantula? (chilean rose tarantula)

  • To barcodeNINETEEN--

I have a chilean rose hair aswell. If you just got the tarantula, do NOT start handling it. It won't be used to its habitat yet. If you wear cloth gloves, the bite will go through. Leather may harm their fangs, but their fangs could go through. Wait a few weeks before handling them. Try touching them on their back legs gently to show them no harm. Mine's a female. I think the males are a tad chubbier, but I'm not an expert.

    -----------

Good advice! This was a good video.

  • Oh, I've had it for a while now. I started to touch his back legs, and then his abdomen, (on the second day) which I shouldn't have, Lol. I wore those plastic-ish gloves you use to wash dishes with, Lol.

Then I started to handle Kittin on the third day, he's really gentle etc. He's so gentle that he wouldn't even devour his live food in front of me, I've never seen him eat before! :(

But yeah :) Have your's molted yet?

  • dude i did that but mine reared up with the gloves on

  • one thing i would point out.. and i neer do this with any of my spiders.. (i have 13)

never put your hands infront of them..

use strong card for them to walk on. never place your fingers directly infront of their faces. this can be seen as a threat to them.. and if you have to handle them.. let them walk at their pace onto your hand... never push them!

    Just a thought..

  • I've seen loads of videos on youtube of people putting their hands in front of spiders! And they were alright.

  • Cool Tarantula i have 10, i used to have 14 but some got old as they do. I have an adult female Lasiodora parahybana. They grow fairly large lol

Apparently the venom from a Tarantula bite can kill you if you are allergic to a bee sting.

My Chilean Rose or my Red Knee won't let me anywhere near them for some reason they are so aggressive.

The most colourful one i have is the Green Bottle Blue.

  • I've been trying to handle my chilean rose hair, but it puts its legs up like it's going to bite, and it just seems aggressive like it's going to bite. Any tips?

  • dont handle it!

this is its natural threat posture.

it will do this to anything it sees as a threat and may want to hurt it..

I have a spider like that: B. Vagans.. she can be a bitch. but give him/her time and maybe they will come around..

its not normal for a G.Rosea to do that! or your B. Smithi also!

they are normally such docile creatures.. give them time and pay them some attention. they will get used to it at some point

  • That definitely worked, I started to get comfortable touching it, and it gradually became calm to where it wouldn't mind if I touched it, so I tried putting my hand in front of it, and it put its legs up, just to feel around. Before I knew it, it was on my hand lol.

  • I'm glad you liked it :)

  • What do you do when it bites you? Is there a first-aid for that? Or do you need an antivenin? I've read all the comments and learned alot! Must be cool for a girl like you to be so dedicated in the field of arachnids!

  • As USFtrack1229 writes it's not one record of death from a tarantula bite, therefore it's few countries who have a first-aid for tarantula bites.

    And: Thank you :)

  • all tarantulas are venomous but none can kill you if bitten unless you have a SERIOUS alergic reaction to the venom but that is unlikely. No tarantula deaths have been recorded.

  • do tarantula's have venom or poison and if they do is it dangerous to humans

  • As USFtrack1229 writes: All tarantulas are venomous but it's not a single record of a person that died of a tarantula bite. Some species can cause pain and temporary "sickness". After what I have read the tarantula venom contains of so small particles that it's unable to be allergic to their venom, but I'm not sure if this information is 100% sure. Anyway the New-Age tarantulas often have uncarting hairs that can cause blindness if you get them in your eyes.

  • hey guys whats up, about 3 days ago my friend gave me a tarantula for a birthday gift, cuz i love tarantulas, however im new to this whole owning a tarantula, any tips on avoiding it to die ? i feed it on a weekly basis, the thing is i dunno what kind it is, its just brown, a little pink on its body, i realllly wanna handle 1 but im scared so if you guys can help me with a few tips that would be great :)

    Peace

  • Sounds like you got a Grammostola rosa. Try to google the name and see if it's the same as you have.

They should have about 20deegrees Celsius, and a humidity about 60%. If you visit my webpage you will find a caresheet for this specie.

  • if it turns out to be a desert tarantula thatll make it easier, also its a good idea to use saran wrap to cover up most of the holes in the top of the cage (not all obviously hes gotta breath) but that will keep moisture in much more easily, ive also found you have to spray their cage with water much less if you just put a wet sponge into their water bowl. other then that just feed em once a week unless theyre molting and make sure he has a place to hide.

  • How do i hold mine though because it's an exo terra' vivarium with a front door and it's only a 23cm box so it's more awkward to get my hands in their, and it has a big log in it :(

  • It's difficult to give any tips as I don't see the terrarium.

  • I tried to handle y chilean rose yesterday , I have done it before although yesterday it seemed to be quite aggressive so I stopped.

I am gentle with her and don't do it alot.

I was wondering would handling her more make her less aggressive or leaving her alone more ?

    Any help would be great.

  • i also have a chilean rose & she was very aggressive for a while. I used a straw to see if she would attack it...& she did... several times. I would recommend using a straw to touch her to see if she would react violently to it. Its better than using your hand lol

I left her alone for a couple of weeks & she randomly calmed herself. So maybe not handling her for a while will help her calm down. Make sure you feed her regulararly, she will be much calmer when she is well fed.

    Hope I helped.

  • thanks man , I usually feed her fortnightly but I know its possible to feed her weekly so I might try that for a while and see if it changes anything. Thanks for the help man.

    Tay.

  • i was thinking about gettin a salmon pink birdeater, are they generally docile?

  • No, they are considered as aggressive.

If you want a handleable tarantula a Grammostola spp., Brachypelma smithi or Brachypelma albopilosum would be a better choice ;)

Good luck with getting yourself a tarantula, if you should have any other questions just wisit my webpage where you will find my email address.

  • Do you think king baboons are the most violent tarantulas on earth?? Am just asking coz, in a threat display, I noticed that they have been known to poke out their fangs in an even, straight, and forward position without folding back both fangs for a longer periods of time! Other baboon species and earth tiger species displays a threat but folds both fangs quicker than Kings. Thats just my opinion. How about yours??:-)

  • Have u been bitten by handling a tarantula before?

  • Never

And that's because I never handle aggressive species or individuals, and follow the rules in this video ;)

  • That is a nice tarantula, I wish I could do that with my Stout Leg Baboon, but its very aggresive.

  • hey, nice tarantula, i have a chilean rose, i got him about 1 year ago and he's doing good. is that dirt in your tank? also how is that grass and plant living in your tank? thanks

  • Could i handle my Chilean rose?

  • If it's calm, then yes ;)

    G. rosea is usually a tarantula that will accept handling. But sometimes aggressive individuals appear.

  • Sorry, I have never heard that popular name before. Do you have it's scientific name?

  • He's cute! I want one but my mom and boyfriend are arachnophobic. Heck, I would be a bit nervous myself on handling one of these guys. They're neat to look at though

  • ur spider bite u b4?do they recognize u?

  • What do you mean with: "ur spider bite u b4?"

Sorry but I don't understand you.

I don't think they're able to recognise people.

  • i thought tarantula's where big spiders, this one is little

  • It's because this one is a juvenile ;)

Full grown it is about 20-25cm in leg span.

  • Funny question - Are they smelly pets?? Like say a hamster??

  • No, they don't smell at all ;)

  • yeah thats what mine is... but when mine was like 3 months old it was about the same size as urs in the vidio... just saying it musta been young in the video.

i got mine as a spiderling from a friend so yeah.

  • Okidoki :)

But it seems to mw like your is older than you think, I have never heard about a 3months old L. parahybana with a legspan on about 7-8cm.

Yes they grow fast, but not that fast ;)

I don't know the exact age on mine, but like I said I think it's about 2-3years maybe 4.

  • mine is a salmon pink like urs is

  • Are you sure that it's so young (1,5 years), mine is about the same age now maybe 2-3years old. And now it has a legspan about 12-15cm.

    Are you power feeding it?

Or maybe they are at the same age.

As you can probably can tell by the date of this video it was added February 14, 2007, and I only made it a couple of days before that.

  • that Tarantula was very young... mines like 10 times the size... and its only about a year and a half old...

  • What kind of specie is this?

  • Another thing to add when you make another vid is to not put your finger in front of it, if the T is large enough it can be mistaken for food.

  • In all the years I have had tarantulas the tarantulas have newer mistaken my hand for food while handling. I think they know if it's a hand or food, by the vibration, and the speed you move your hand.

But I agree with you in one thing, if I had moved my finger very fast in front of it, it maybe would have bitten me. But if you do it slow it gets time to discover your hand. Tarantulas tend to know when things are too large for them to eat.

  • How old was the tarantula when you filmed it?

  • I don't know, sorry...

But it was still a small juvenile.

  • i just got a tarantula (for a sience proyect, no harm) and im planing to keep it as a pet hehe, how do u know when shes angry or nervous? its a Rose Hair Taranchula

  • i got a rose hair to. 1 indicater is if it starts moving fast. one time mine bolted down my back. it was a mother to get it in its cage

  • It bolted down your back?!

  • very good, but missed probably one of the most important points. if you are handling the tarantula do it low over a soft surface! ..nice vid tho, nice T aswell :)

  • Thank you!

    Yes, I know.

You can't see it in the video but it was only 20cm to the nearest surface.

I will remember to use the rule in my next video "How to handle a tarantula"-video

  • Neimenn, det var ett kjent navn:-) heisann!

    Flott video

  • Tusen takk ^^

  • thats not a tarantula tarantulas have smaller abdomens

  • Thats not right.

    This is a tarantula.

But it's a juvenile, as an adult this tarantula becomes about 20-25cm in leg span.

  • My teacher has 2 chillian rose's, a boy and a girl. I've always wanted one but holding hers made me want one really badly. We already have a bearded dragon, so we have tons and tons of crickets. I'm thinking about getting the same kind she has, since they are easier to care for..... Can you identifiy a very blue kind that is somewhat harmful to humans? Does one even exsist?

  • It exist some blue species, and some species like A. seemani even have a blue colour form.

Maby you think about P. metallica, this specie have very potent venom, but like any other tarantula it's not lethal to humans under normal circumstances. Anyway I DON'T want to recommend you this as your first tarantula. As your first a G. rosea (Chilean Rose) or a Brachypelma spp. would be more suitable.

You can find caresheets for all species I have mentioned at Spiderfreaks, org (replace , with a .)

  • a rose hair is a good starter i have 1. mine is 2-3 inches in leg span and will be eating 8 crickets tomarow. to youre question i have no clue

  • I've the utmost respect for anyone who can handle a tarantula or any other huge spider. You rule, Vampir.

  • Thank you ^_^

  • awesome vid i'm trying to get a grammostola rosea but they are so hard to find in new york haha it sucks because not many people like tarantulas so like no stores carry then -_-;;

  • Have you tried one of the large forums, like Arachnoboards?

  • Hey again I got my Chiean rose and i am unsure wether it is a male or female... Do you know ho to tell?

  • See who gets on top of whom...lol

  • this is the best tarantula vid on youtube. all the other owners seem not to care or only like the fact that their pets slowly kill helpless juvenile animals. lol great vid, id love a tarantula.

  • Hey, I'm thinking of buying a chilean rose tarantula because they seem like magnificent creatures but I have some major questions about them, care, maintenance and such, so if you could send me a pm and answer some questions I'd appreciate that greatly. Thanks everyone.

  • Pm sent ;)

  • How in the WORLD can you handle those things. They are so evil looking.

  • Because I like them ;)

  • WOooooow soooo cuteXD A tarantula got on my face b4 while I was sleeping and when I woke up it was on my mouth. From wat ive heard the hairs r poisonous and spiders have some bald spots coz they flick the hairs in the air for self defense

  • It's right that tarantulas from the new world (America) has the ability to kick urticating hairs from their abdomens. But these are not poisonous, but they will cause irritation and itching for several hours or even days.

  • Great video, tarantulas never cease to amaze me. :)
