  • Me: Excuseme sir, but I'm looking for a place to live and this town seems kinda nic...... why are they all singing? Is there a somekind festival?

A random fisher man: Oh, nonsense my boy. We are just singing about a dragon we all saw and that saved us all. *Continues singing*

Me: Oh, thats nice.... Well, I guess I just keep searching......far away from here.

  • Really good movie. I would like to see a sequal and maybe a few movies of where Elliott has to go help kids.

  • @VenomKing5000 Who knows? Maybe Elliott could be roaming the globe in search of a true home too.

  • Must not cry.....Must Not Cry! ; n ;

  • I think wherever Elliott is right now, he and Pete will always be best friends....FOREVER.

  • I wouldn't mind living in a town where everyone breaks out into song.

  • I wuldnt want him to go :(

  • eliott's such a good friend, he catches all of petey's tears. such a good movie

  • I think elliot has the hots for nora lol.

  • Many who want to see it again and again watch it HERE ... freeQcartoons Q. uQs (delete all Q) eNJOY!

  • I think that the boy who played Pete was perfect for the part--he didn't sing perfectly and he was likeable

  • I always hated how the "person" who helped the kids (Elliott, mary Poppins) just left at the end and the kids would never see them again

  • @delidude1999 I guess its probably the Superman complex he cant stay around the dragon and Mary Poppins are the samew they're off to help another child

  • @delidude1999 IT is a symbol of growing up. It is hard to do sometimes, but it is for the best. When you don't need him, then he has to go.

  • thanks for posting this.

  • I watched this clip several times for the last two months before leaving home to start my freshman year of college....but watched it really hard on the day before leaving knowing that it was time to move on big time, and I was crying for several hours as a result.

  • I was always soooo sad when Elliot left Pete at the end to help someone else. I still wish he could of stayed with him, but I like to think he eventually returned to him in the near furture.

  • If you want to see real action go to see this animation now. If you are waiting for the real action heroes, they are here. If you want to find out the real story, then you should not wait any more...you should go now to freecartoons and enjoy in this animation at this minute!!!

  • thanks for uploading this, this film brings back memories of childhood ,and 15 years later i still get upset at the ending

  • @joshayes1

Yeah tell me about it... I am 28 and I still cry like a baby at the end... Just a wonderful movie :-)

  • What a sad ending!

  • Poor Thurston Howell III always seems to have bad luck with his cigars...

  • At the end it looks like Lampie wasn't afraid of Elliott anymore since it looked like it after what he said from 1:34-1:37 but, what was it that caused him to not be afraid of Elliott anymore even though Pete has told him a lot how harmless Elliott is? I wonder if his fear of Elliott went away because, Elliott lit the lighthouse wick or because he heard the news from the people in their song how Elliott saved people by scaring the bad guys and/or saving people from a telephone pole falling.

  • I know that there are six bad guys on this movie who are the four "Gogans" and Dr. Terminus and his henchman Hoagy. So, since "The Gogans" ran away with fear, I wonder what happened with Dr. Terminus and Hoagy since it just showed Dr. Terminus being hung upside down with Hoagy standing next to him being unknown if they got arrested for attempting to try to kill Elliott.

  • I remember in the scene with Pete and Nora painting the lighthouse where Nora and Lampie told Pete that they want him to live in the lighthouse with them so I wonder if that made Nora and Lampie the parents of Pete even though Lampie is the father of Nora. Then at the end when Paul returned where I'm sure Paul and Nora got married with Paul being the son-in-law of Lampie but, I wonder then how Pete becomes related to Paul, Nora, and Lampie since Pete is their adopted family member.

  • WHO WAS eLLIOT'S FIRST OWNER?

  • @snowmane2123 Elliot has never had an owner. His purpose in life is to help children that are miserable and make them happy. And when they are happy, he moves on to help other children that are miserable until they are happy.

  • @snowmane2123 Nobody owns Elliott since when Dr. Terminus and Hoagy asked Pete who owns Elliott where Pete said "nobody" and Elliott just came to Pete to be his friend.

  • Those people who are singing are the very same people who were trying to kill elliot. They had to do some serious ass kissing I'm sure.

  • This was an obvious sequel hook. Where's the sequel Disney?

  • @Videot01

Couldn't live up to the original!

  • @Foolanna I know. I was half joking.

  • @Videot01

No way I could accept a sequel to the scene that made me cry for... umm... decades now. At 4:35: "There's another kid in trouble?" Or in the synchronised version, "there's another kid who needs you more than I do?" It played all too well into my trauma from the Neverending Story. And after Bambi, this was just what it took to finish us off! :-)

  • @Foolanna In the Neverending Story, everything that had died came back to life at the end. :)

  • @Dulcimerist

True, especially in the book of the Neverending Story (that only really starts at the point where the movie ends and is so much better than all Harry Potters and Hobbits combined).

There's a song from a 90's German band called Tocotronic, claiming that Michael Ende, the writer of the Neverending Story, destroyed our potential careers by telling us to always "do what we want". 80's kids rule :-)

  • Thank you so much for uploading this... When Nora sees Paul back safely... It reminds me of something that is happening in my life... <3 :)

  • This brought me right back to my childhood. Thanks for posting it :)

  • Such a great Disney classic.

  • I'm a grown ass woman...bawling my eyes out...jeezzz...my mom is gone now, and dad met and knocked up another woman....no matter how fucked up I feel about everything..i can still go back to 1985 and smile...rainbow brite, shrinkydinks and robin hood....charlottes web...Miss you Momma.....

  • @SuperWickedRed Hope things are going better for you now

  • they should think about making a return for elliot, for the 21st century with a new kid. after all, they brought herbie the car back!

  • I always fell in love with Paul.

  • is this filmed in disneyland?

  • Riposate in pace Dada Clara e Geppe, e grazie per tutto quello che avete fatto per me e mia sorella.Grazie.

    Franco e Paola

  • Such a sweet movie. =')

  • love this movie its my fav

  • just wanted to watch the beginning of this film for old times sake..... ended up watching the whole thing! What a film :)

  • See this and other newer release full length cartoons at cartoonsi.co.cc.

  • Seems like an ass that he won't at least stop in and say Hi to Pete someday.

  • I understand how the ending can make a viewer sad. But Pete did not Elliott anymore as Elliott had found a happy home for Pete. The script stated that there was another boy in a bad situation, just as Pete was in when Elliott came to him. So Elliott left to find that other boy a happy home. Despite the surface sadness, the movie ended happily. I have this movie on VHS, and I still watch it frequently even though I am in my 50s.

  • Well that was very enjoyable :) Brought back a ton of memories , thank you!!

  • loveee this movie!!!

  • If Only real life was Like Dis :/

  • Reps 0:46 - 1:08 :D

  • 1. Sääli kun eliot ei enään tule takaisin olisi ollut parempi että hän palaisi joskus käymään 2.hitsi kun eliot ei osaa puhua muuta kuin äännellä tollee 3. oli niin surullinen loppu :(

  • thanks for puttin this up (y)

  • The actors were okay it's just that the writing was just fine and it was not too choppy.I give the cartoon 3 out of 5 stars. freecartoonsus is the best for seeing cartoons!

  • This movie is my childhood...it was this movie and the Rescuers: Down Under

  • Huh, Nora has a got a miniature mullett goin on.

  • i remember when i watched this when i was little........i always wished that Elliott would come and visit/help me

  • Awww this movie is so wonderful!

  • At 4:29, even though Elliott said "no" to Pete when Pete asked him if he did something wrong, I guess Pete sort of did do something wrong to Elliott where Pete hurt Elliott's feelings in the cave when Pete said to Elliott "I don't know if you're good for me, or bad" which made Elliott cry a little. (Pete said this to Elliott just before Pete met Nora).

  • My dog died today,he was so sweet. Maybe his spirit is off to a newborn puppy so he can make other children happy... :')

  • @kaboekieThat would mean dogs have more than one life just like they say cats do.

  • @kaboekie You mean you think maybe dogs have more than one life just like what they say about cats?

  • This is a great movie I love Elliot.

  • Well this is a Classic My parents have the Dvd here 0:49 Where Helen kiss the Dragon and with her Rain Gear on to 1:06 What happened to Pete he Gone.

  • I know what u mean I cry when Pete says goodbye to Elliot and chases him

  • Last time i saw this movie was 8 years ago and i cried then and i still do!

    and i'm turning 13 Wednesday!

This movie brings so many memories :')

  • Thumbs up if Elliot and Pete reunite.

  • One of the best Disney classics of all time. I love this movie! :)

  • If that was my dragon I'd be way more sad about him leaving!

  • what a great movie!!! After elliott left Pete, he went to help another boy who was being molested by priests..and then went to the bronx,to rescue some black kids from their roach infested apartments with their 20 bros and sisters and their crackhead mom...Elliott is truly a hero

  • Hi just wanted to say thanks. This brought back a TON of memories!

  • =`)

  • i luv it.. thanks

  • Classic Disney ending. They don't make stuff like that anymore.

  • I always cried at the end !

  • From 0:55-1:07, why was Elliott afraid for Nora to kiss him? I'm sure he doesn't mind getting kissed because Pete has kissed him either two or three times in the movie and Elliott didn't mind and wasn't afraid that Pete kissed him.

  • @afriendofbean: Maybe it was his first time getting a kiss from a girl

  • Yes, that could also be true. Maybe all the kids in the past who he protected and saved were boys (like Pete) and I guess he was probably more used to being friends with boys and getting hugged and kissed from boys (which all the boys in the past who he protected and saved have done) than girls.

  • @afriendofbean: Maybe

  • It's amazing that Paul looks like Gallagher the comedian who smashes food since Paul has a mustache like Gallagher and he is wearing the same hat that Gallagher sometimes wears on stage.

  • To me, the ending kind of similar to 'Mary Poppins'. but it's charming! Elliot is the best! ^_^

  • It's very emotional how Elliott says he has to leave to help another child in trouble. Looking at how he gave Pete a home and good family, it would suggest that Pete isn't the first child Elliott has helped. It's an ongoing mission for him, to help children in need. It gives him a sense of purpose, like some travelling guardian angel.

  • Yes, it felt very sad that Elliott left Pete. I guess Elliott's job as a dragon is to help all the kids in the world who are in danger and he doesn't leave them until they're safe and well protected. Now that Pete's adopted family (the Gogans) ran away and Pete has Nora, Lampie, and Paul who are his new family members who love him and are interested in taking care of him. Elliott probably felt that Pete is now safe and well protected that he didn't need to stay with Pete anymore.

  • I haven't seen this movie in years. They never show it on TV. I'm glad you posted it, I watched it over and over again when I was little. Thank you!

  • They tried capturing elliot, then they sing and praise him. Go figure!

  • Maybe they thought Elliott was a bad dragon. Probably even Lampie thought Elliott was bad which was why he was afraid of Elliott. However at the end, it looks like Lampie was interested in having Elliott living in the lighthouse since Pete mentioned that from 3:48-3:51. (Lampie must have thought that Elliott was good by then).

  • @afriendofbean Yeah, but still...

  • That's true. I agree that it was strange how they first tried capturing him and then sang about how great he is. However, maybe the reason why they started to like him and sang and praised him was because, in part 12 from 6:23-6:26 he saved a lot of people which people probably appreciated. Also here on part 13 from 1:35-1:38 Lampie said that everyone in town is safe because of Elliott which could be the reason why people sang and praised him. (I might be wrong but this is just my guess).

  • thank you for the movie. I am crying now ...

I would give anything to have a friend as faithful and caring as Elliot.

  • Even though Pete would miss Elliott, they would always be best friends forever and ever. No matter what.

  • Great point.

  • Elliott is a shiny Dragonite. Pete was the first Pokemon trainer ever.

  • One of the greatest movies of my childhood! I wanted a friendly dragon friend like Elliot... He was my constant companion growing up, and I love him still!! Again, thank you!!!!

  • i remember this movie...it was a loooong time movie when i was little...it was myfavorite

  • Thanks for uploading! Brings back fond memories. Where have all the movies gone like this and chitty, chitty, bang, bang, and mary poppins and the sound of music I don't know --> I wish they would make shows like this nowadays: with heart and love and imagination.

  • I have to tell you all the truth, but Elliot, he was my imaginary friend when I was a little kid. I thought that the kid he was going to next, it was me. I remember being so happy with him by my side. It was magical. The best part was, he could actually shrink so small that he could sit on my desk when I'm at school. I miss those days.

  • @KeybladeKH

Thats a very neat story :3

  • lol. cute. Well that is the magic that Disney can put into the heads of children.

  • @jtomally9681 well, the magic they USED to be able to put into the heads of children. Now is it poorly written, badly acted, commercialised, patronising pap. very very sad to see what Disney has become.

  • @mtheadedwally I have to admit that there are a few newer movies which are pretty cute but that is about it.

  • @KeybladeKH Ever since this film came out, Elliot was so popular, he became a member of the Main Street Electrical Parade!

  • @KeybladeKH i remember those days: the first day i saw this movie i go ELLIOT COME TO ME!! :)

  • @KeybladeKH

Nevermind, my imaginary friend was Nils Holgersson :-)

  • Thanks for uploading the film, it's been 15 years since I saw it, but I still love this movie !!!

  • first his hair and wings are pink then they're purple lol well i still love this movie

  • I Love This Movie, When i first saw this i was 12, or 13. Long Time.

  • Adorable movie, and a great quality upload; nice work KagomesezSitboy1!

I can't help but think of this one H.P. Lovecraft story called the Dunwich Horror, which featured a gigantic monster whose most terrifying attribute was his invisibility. Did anyone find the scene where Elliot's form appears underneath the net terrifying and creepy?

  • I remember seeing this as a kid. If I hadn't watched the movie up to that point, I would have been terrified. But knowing Elliott was a sweeheart, it wasn't so scary.

  • Elliott is leaving because I add the music from Narnia.

  • I'm a sucker for happy endings great film I loved it thanks for this!

  • i ALWAYS cry when somethings sad D:

people say "courtney your such a whimp"

    well you know what?!

    "SCREW YOU! ITS SAD!" T-T

elliot and pete are connected by hearts.

  • @MrCourtneyCakes I hate good byes.

  • @MrCourtneyCakes Im a straight dude and i always cried when he had to leave even till now!!! that and when he was all tied up :P

  • Ain;t Nothing wrong with that... My Dad did too...

  • Thanks for this awesome upload... this is such a wonderful film... Better then roger Rabbit that would come out over 19 years later... I always cry at the end.. My Dad did too... I enjoyed this and I bet that my Dad would have too.. I just wish that Elliot could have stayed with Pete... The end was so sad...

  • I always cried at the end too. And kinda still do, even though I'm 21.

  • @KagomesezSitboy1 I do too and Im 28 and a tough chef!

  • @williamkatt81 why is the ending sad? Pete has a real family and home, and Eliot is off to give another kid a happy ending.

  • @thephysicwerewolf It's a little sad because Elliot leaves Pete but other than that the ending's happy because of what you said.

  • How can Elliot fly w/ such small wings?

  • @Stephen10528 even i can't answer that

  • @thephysicwerewolf Maybe the same way a bumblebee can fly w/ such small wings, which is something no one knows.

  • @Stephen10528 He's a dragon. He's magical. Rules don't apply.

  • @williamkatt81 I grew up with this movie. I'm 17 now but I remember watching this as a little kid. Whenever I was in the car I'd imagine my own dragon family outside, running alongside the car, eating trees and stuff and accidentally bumping into billboards. ;) Elliott powered my imagination. :) Though I loved the ending, it's sad that he left Pete, but I loved thinking about which kid he was helping now and then which kid after that one and so on and so on.
