@Yodamanjaro ok, I don't understand you comment so I'll do a two way comment. if people like a security, Mac has no security because there are no mac certified products because apparently there are no viruses, which is caused because no one wants to waste their time on only 10% of market share. if you're talking about why mac is better, then why don't more people buy macs? don't say, oh its too expensive, people still buy expensive pc's more than mac. :P

It's not that Macs don't get viruses or malware. A recent drive by installer managed to put some malware onto some machines. But security updates come quickly and fix the problem. Their support system is also better if it does happen. If you get a Winblows virus it's "That happens, should have used a better antivirus dumbass. Now give me $200 to fix it without destroying all of your information."

my cousin said his mac was better then my PC, i said to him how. He stated that its impossible for the mac to get a virus, i said u want a bet. He hands me the mac and two min later i got him 35 trojins. so bs that mac cant get viruses.

I haven't had a virus in years, used AVG and just used my computer intelligently. Also a lot of those viruses can infect Macs, they just lay dormant until they can spread to connecting PCs.

even if you did get one of the -what? 5? 10?- viruses in the wild for linux, most distros dont give root access by default, so the virus cant do real harm to the computer

and, on top of that, a lot of distros dont allow downloaded files to execute unless specifically enabled by the user

I would make a virus for a mac, but knowing Steve Jobs he would make it that you would have to ship your mac to his company (and only his company) to get the virus out, charge you out the arse for it and all you dumb arse mac fan boys would be all to happy to throw more of your money at Jobs for it which in return would help Job keep his business running which is what I do not want.

i had a 2 dells and both of em caught an virus

mainly because of *Torrents* and its SOO annoying to reset the whole computer. In 1 year i had 4 virus and had to delete all my data and start off from scratch *all music, videos, games* the lot

then i got an mac.

i heard i could also torrent but i was a little scared that it might catch a virus like my dell computers

but eventually i started torrenting again and for more than a year now no viruses *love mac*

will never go back to PC

i see mac's as open source OS's, nothing keeps you from getting in......

It wasn't a virus, just a, well, file written that just kind of "removed" some files, so it was more a hilarious joke than a virus. Virus's steal information,etc, and before now, Mac's did not get them. Now it is becoming more popular, and Apple has warned to be careful. But if your computer smart, and own a Mac, virus's are very hard to get :P
