@sealfam100 A study published in the July/August 2002 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT) shows that a chiropractic technique known as the "Webster Technique" for managing the musculoskeletal causes of intrauterine constraint, is effective in cases of pregnancy with women experiencing breech presentation which can lead to a cesarean section birth.
Where is your evidence that it is ineffective and that Chiropractors should NOT treat pregnant patients?
I am a chiropractic student and i am curious where can we can learn the Webster technique? Do certain Doctors offer seminars on the Webster Technique?
Dr. Webster was my pediatric professor at Life Chiropractic. He died a number of years ago. You can contact Life University School of Chiropractic (Marietta, Ga.), or ICPA. I just returned form a conference that had Judy Ohm, DC. She is the foremost chiropractic pediatric doctor in the U.S. She can be reached too. What chiro school you attend?
It is never too late to attempt the Webster's adjustment. I had a patient that I performed the Webster's technique on while she was in labor. The baby was already head down but, turned from a posterior position which causes back labor. The midwife was so suprised when she rechecked and found that the baby had turned. The lesson is... never give up hope.
I am considering this procedure but am pregnant with twins and one is breech. Thank you for posting this so I can better understand what is done! I used a chiropractor with my first pregnancy and it was amazing how much better my hips felt after only one adjustment!
