  • He wont with 40 pounds of muscle and locking via body triangle to slow marcelo down. It's kinda foolish to think that he won by fundamental alone.

  • wow

  • All the Gracies school still teaches and praises fundamentals every time..

  • I to have notice more schools teaching more advace submission instead of putting more focus on basic wrestling and Bjj. I ask about this last night in class and the reply was know a days everyone from a blue belt up knows how to apply and defend the basic subs. So to get an advantage early you teach some of tricky moves a person might know but either hasent drilled it enough to defend or dosent expect you to pull off. But history show the best way to stay good is stick to basic moves.

  • @muchohumpty why are you watching it then?

  • I dont wanna watch 2 grown men with panties & nut sacks in their face. I like boxing

  • @muchohumpty People like you are full of shit. You found the match, watched it, and then typed why you dont like watching 2 men grapple. Your like those idiots who go on a rap video...say how the hate rap...then when you look at there channel it has nothing but 2pac on it! Funny and sad.

  • @b7r7u7c7e such a great point!

  • @muchohumpty Good for you, but neither of these guys is wearing 'panties'.

  • @muchohumpty then fuck off

  • @muchohumpty

    #fag

  • @kevindrake714 i'm not the one hugging another man & wrapping my legs around another him with panties on with sweat & shit all over us.

  • @muchohumpty

wow...dude u think really gay....i love boxing i think its a great sport, but ur rly gay.

  • @muchohumpty i like boxing but i bet if floyd maywheather or paquio fought marcelo garcia who is about their size they would walk away with a broken limb or be passed the fuck out.

  • passa o carro de novo jaca.

  • whats the song called at the end of the vid?

  • justin bieber are the best

  • that kimura was legit, i dont think he muscled it good setup and adjustment

  • Marcelo Garcia is way shorter and weaker. But when somebody beats everyone at his weight class, he's gotta go for the bigger dude's to make a good hard fight. He has fun when fighting, de don't give a damn about winning or losing. He gets BETTER everytime

  • my two favorite bjj practitioners...some comments on how jacare used a cheap strength move to finish marcelo, I say well played by jacare if you have the strength advantage then use it...nothing better than getting a quick win to rest up for the next match and have the ability to size up potential opponents.

  • lol @ all the butthurt Marcelo fans who always make excuses for him when he loses.

  • lucky , marcelo is winning...jacare is a loser monkey looking fag

  • @DuhWinningAdonisDNA Boy would i pay to see you step on the mat and prove to the world that he's actually a "loser". Imagine if you couldn't beat someone you regard as a "loser"? what would that make you?

  • I can catch a kimura on some guys that are stronger than me...just put in the reps!!

  • This was s good match I like both of these guys.

  • now I understand why he doesn't like kimura :D

  • @deadzior true story

  • I'd say 74 likes with 0 dislikes in 2 years says it all

  • I did this exact submission earlier tonight, my opponent was equal skill but I have like 20 pounds of muscle on him. The Kimura is a strongman's move for sure but props to Jacare either way.

  • I LOVE Ude Garami ( the Kimura). It's such an amazing submission. The arm is at such an odd angle, and when cranked just LOOKS painful. People talking about sticking to the basics are right. I've tapped more bjj players out with different forms of Ude Garami more than any submission. It's like they expect you to work fancier stuff and forget that a perfectly good armlock is sitting right there. That was clearly technique and not strength that prevailed. Jacare knows his stuff.

  • Good ol basics !!!!!

  • It doesn't matter who you are if Jacare's got weight on you. Obviously even if you're Marcelo Garcia.

  • @hiddenblood - agree with you 100%. jacare used his technique not strength. That's the right way to go for a kimura from guard: wide hip escape and elbow inside the armpit. doing that way there's no way to resist.

  • garcie had his hands locked and jac still got it, more than just strength there, jac subbed him with a triangle to at worlds.

  • People who say that Jacare won this because he is stronger are simply wrong. Garcia had his elbow flared out and did not have a strong grip on his arm. Jacare simply utilized perfect technique by turning his hips slightly at an angle and patiently waiting for the arm to come out.

  • Is that Renzo Gracie yelling in Portuguese in the background?

  • any know what year this took place? im looking for the final match.

  • @awkthebb 2005 roger gracie vs jacare

  • i fucking hate strength lol when i do BJJ i like to flow with things, if somethign isn't workign i look to hip out and change an angle or go for somethign else. Too many guys that come down, just try to force moveson me, its a really good way to get injured, when you have people that thing grapplign is all about strength. In this case, both guys were great, but one used more strength to attack the arm in the kimura

  • @jackofallcharades

its not all strength if marcelo leaves his arm there up for grabs.. its just math. Jacare's both arms and upper body strength against marcelos grip and one arm. do the math.

  • bit unimpressed with the fact jacare went for the kimura in that fashion, bit weak of him. too scared to move by the looks

  • He used the strenght?Dude, how long do u fight? If you have classes of the old and good jiu jitsu, learning the correct way of each movement you will see that what he did wasnt use the strengh. With gi you may defend the kimura by gettin your belt,if the guy doesnt know how to give a kimura.Im glad to say that after having private classes with a Carslons red belt I saw the real movement of the kimura and even me,that is over 40 kg thinner got him in the kimura with no strenght. So don't say shit.

  • Nobody make's the right move,at the right time, all the time. He's so little.Don't care bout this or the Drysdale match. He's the man 2 me.Great guy too.Super nice.No one is perfect all the time.

  • this guy only beat marcelo cuz he forgot about his arms cuz earlier in the match he even had his arm posted on the mat asking for a kimura

  • que sacanagem!!!!

  • wow, very impressive by jacare I would like to see them fight again sometime soon.

  • Size Matters.

  • Man, I hate to see my favorite playa gettin' subbed, but it IS good to see basic white belt stuff winning at a high level! Basics people, basics! No tricks, just solid technique.

  • @Chrisrico1 Yep. The people saying it's technique are right. So are the people saying strength. Also strategy. Jacare knew that Marcelo was hitting armdrags and X-Guard sweeps galore at the time (before Marcelo had his present game) and decided to pull guard to throw off Marcelo. There's nothing Marcelo could;ve done to keep his arm from getting pulled out from under his hip. He tried his best to tuck it.

  • i dont even speak portuguese but id bet money I heard Renzo gracie yelling

  • STRENGTH....

  • hahaha you can hear Renzo Gracie in the back coaching some one.

  • pretty awesome, but yeah Jacare did just win because of his superior strength, but who says you can use strength in BJJ?

  • a win is win. i still think marcelo is a way better grappler than jacare.

  • @surgea17 It's hard to compare Marcelo and Jacare. They're both in the Holy Trinity (Roger, Marceo, Jacare) but they're just so different in styles. One thing about Marcelo is that when he loses, it's often by sub. This Kimura, the Darce from Drysdale, the Triangle and RNC/arm-triangle combo from Braulio... He spends so much time attacking that he probably never has to work his defense much.

  • @WhtMike2006 ,In all cases ,you mentioned,he(GARCIA) was reckless!

    TOOOOO agressive!

  • Marcelo still impresses me more....regardless of this loss. He is lighter and has destroyed giants!

  • jacare simply out muscled garcia.... dont get me wrong jacare is the shit ;-) but didnt really impress me with this win over marcelo. great performance by marcelo in that adcc....would like to know how long the previous fights of jacare went for.... cos i believe fatigue played a big part against marcelo.... still interesting enough would love to see a fresh match between these 2 awesome (best) grapplers

  • youre right but if you think about it marcelo goes against many people who can over power him like renzo or better yet arlovski i think it was the mixture of jacares streength and technique but i agree marcelo grappled very well.

  • nah def but all im after is to see these 2 guys grapple from a fresh start....

  • jacare foreced that kimura. brute force

  • @sebbecr It wasn't all brute force. It was basic Jacare's explosive strength sure, but there is also a lot of fine details in the simple Kimura from the guard. There's a reason most Kimuras hit at the elite level are from side-control or north-south, and not from the guard. It's not an "easy" submission at all at the super high levels. A Kimura from full guard hasn't been acheived a tap in ADCC since this....

  • @chocymachado

marcelo isn't that much smaller than jacare. He is in the 170s, jacare is about 190. Its just that marcelo carries a lot of weight in his legs hips.

  • basics basics and more basics, Marcelo Jacare Saulo all the best guys seem to win using basics yet all you see in the gym (schools) are people trying to be Ryan Hall trying to get upsidedown triangles, flying armbars, or with a gi tying nots and being more like sailors than BJJ guys, if this video teaches anything it's to use basics.

  • yup...more advanced you get..the more you see... arm bars, triangles, guillotines, rnc and basic gi chokes

  • couldnt agree with you more...theres a reason why everyone gets taught the basics, why the basics ARE the basics, and why as you get to the highest level in BJJ you revert back to them...

  • @ RightWingCon81

well put.. i mean just look at Roger Gracie,

basic guardpass to mount, and crosscollar choke. i learned that in my first class..

but the scary thing about Roger is that every single one of his opponents know exactly what he is going to do but they cant stop it. people dont realize how difficult it is to mount someone that knows ur trying to mount him..

but world champions cants even stop Roger from mounting and thats freakin scary

  • @mateah Roger is perhgaps the best example of that, you're right, he's mounting and collar choking world class level guys, I can't cross collar choke beginners and I'm a good blue belt. It's a hard submission, as BJ Penn says, the cross collar is the first you learn and the last you master.

  • just keep working on it in class man, i didnt get it that often untill about a month ago and now it seems like im doing to everyone.

  • Basics are for white belts, flying submissions for life ! biatch !

  • @ab3k1nz you'll be a white belt who thinks he's awesome for life.

  • ahahaha he probably not even white belt level this fagg... basics are th strongest point of a game.

  • u r probably dont even have a belt NOOB.

  • @RightWingCon81 could not have said it better myself, I'm a Rickson Gracie guy and if you watch Kron he finishes people with basic ass submissions.

  • @RightWingCon81 haha this comment wins. and so does judosquad's. so true.

  • @RightWingCon81 Well said. When all else fails, the basics always apply.

  • @RightWingCon81

Jacare can use basics, just because he forced that Kimura being bigger.

  • @RightWingCon81

Jacare can use basics, just because he forced that Kimura by being bigger.

  • @mullemeckish Since when are kimuras cheap? first ankle locks and heel hooks... lol FAIL YOUTUBE FIGHTER.

  • @RightWingCon81 thing is, blue belt and purple belts are the flashiest of grapplers. During brown and black the flash naturally goes away for easier, simpler, less energy consuming moves. Besides, flashy moves are cool :)

  • @RightWingCon81 Agreed. Roger is another great example of it.

  • @RightWingCon81 You're absolutely right. People get too caught up (especially here in America) about doing flashy moves, etc...and they advance to those types of moves way too soon. You gotta build your game from the ground up....the ground is the basics...once you have a good base, the rest of the pyramid will build itself.

  • @jamster114

at least half of top level guys dont even really use 'flashy' moves

roger has the most basic game of anyone in the sport, but he still beats everyone

  • @RightWingCon81 Ryan Hall is also a master of the basic skills. I know what you're trying to say but I think it's ignorant to throw his name in there. Marcelo also uses his X-Guard very often, which isn't considered "standard" in BJJ either yet.

  • Likely black, I doubt any white belts are in this.

  • yea ur right mate

  • you racist

  • wow.........

  • Black Belt

  • 3rd or 4th degree black belt in bjj

  • Are you serious? He is one the best black belts in the planet

  • Maybe not strength but certainly a length advantage. That body triangle was clamped on with ease.

  • just curious about the rules, are slams allowed in adcc?

  • Nope, pretty sure they aren't.

  • Slams are allowed in ADCC to get out of a sub that's already locked in. That's it. Can't slam to break guard or anything.

  • Jacare used a strength advantage to win that because he forced the arm out in to a kimura when marcelo had his arm in a safe position next to his body. Yes in bjj technique prevails over strength but not when the strong guy is also good at bjj.

  • true true. i think jacare pulling guard surprised marcelo to some extend also

  • @judosquad

yup when ur bjj is about even then the thing that matters is strengh and and being explosive

  • @judosquad chill dog there only separated by 15 lbs. marcelo got caught with a good sub

  • @judosquad ,you are right, but using a blue belt technic ,and by force,is a confession to be SCARED of your opponent and admitting that he is HIGHER level!

JACARRE ,did not dare to open his guard and to go for HIGHER level technic!

  • @judosquad I would disagree. Not on your final point of course, strength DOES give you an advantage when you and your opp are both skilled, however,Marcelo (and I love the guy) did not have his arm in a safe spot, his elbow was flared and Jacare capitalized if you look at 2:07 Marcelo is holding his own arm to stop the Kimura and Jacare was patient and used leverage to pry it out. As a big user of the Kimura I can tell you I can feel when a guy goes weak and the Kimura is mine and when it's not.

  • @judosquad If you get put in a position where its "who is stronger" I would say that's a bad position. Jacare had more good positions than a physically weaker competitor.

  • @judosquad yeah joe rogan said it on the last ufc. Kimura's are a strong mans move. Marcello doesnt' even use them

  • @judosquad that had nothing to do with strength, even though jacare may be stronger than marcello, It was the angle of jacare's body relative to marcelo that allowed to rip the kimura out.

  • @judosquad

there is no technique without strength.

  • @judosquad I didn't see any of this strength to apply the kimura that you talked about. He got the grip and insisted on it and didn't want to transition to anything else. If anything, it was a display of stubbornness.

  • @judosquad ya whatever dude, don't take away from the fact that jacare is a bad mofo

  • @Tyc00nMan i dont think he was trying to take anything away from Jacare for the victory , he was just trying to say that in BJJ when both guys have good technique...strength can be the factor to determine who will win.

  • @judosquad The\ placement of Garcia's left leg played a big factor when he couldn't keep it close enough to his arm for protection, strength plays a part but thats technique too

  • @judosquad I don't see his arm being in a safe position there.

  • @judosquad I think you make a good point, but he really used his legs and hips, which are stronger than Marcelo's grip and shoulder strength, to pull it free. His figure-four was posted on his hips so extending them lifted the arm free from the kimura defense. more of a technical adjustment than a use of strength. But yeah i agree that if two guys are equal in technique, the stronger guy will win, but only if situations where neither guy an advantage in leverage, which like never happens.

  • @judosquad you're right. marcelo even had his hands clasped together, but he was just overpowered.

  • Watch video carefully. Jacare defeated Marcelo using a submission technique and not strength. Robert Drysdale Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, I am also getting bjj training under Robert Drysdale, bjj world champion. Visit his official website, RobertDrysdale. Net to watch bjj videos.

  • good fight. jacare was prbbly thinkin "fuck getttin armdragged, imma pulll guard"! cool to see a simple technique used on a such a technical grappler.

  • that was a smart strategy actually. Marcelo is an excellent grappler...but he probably doesn't spend much time in the guard of people bigger, stronger, and relatively equal in skill. This is most likely due to Marcelos skill in Guard avoidance. Funny, his strengths turned out to be his downfall for this match. Great match nonetheless!

  • marcelo would fuck up jacare if they weighed the same.

  • And yet BJJ was created around the principle that strength and size are irrelevant

  • Watch their other videos. Marcelo has defeated jacare.

  • My point exactly. Technique trumps strength in BJJ.

  • most of the time.

  • not irrelevant, but beatable

  • you can muscle someone stronger and bigger with a kimura from the guard...that move is always technical based

  • agreed

  • linda finalizaçao.

Abu Dhabi ta escrito errado na descriçao

  • Funny because a brown belt in bjj Dan Miller choke out Rob Kimmons in the first round. I wonder why? bjj all the way

  • Love both guys but am upset to see Garcia lose.

  • its grappling not mma

  • The black guy seems cool, why wern't they wearing ufc gloves?

  • Jiu jitsu match. Grappling only. Not MMA :)

  • fluke

  • ahh seeing this match reminds me of a tall dude i rolled against this week, he body locked me in guard and i caught his leg with mine for the tap, good move if you catch it heh

  • this is like lebron vs kobe jiu jitsu style LOL

  • lol!

when you are sober, please let us all know!

  • ha ha ha, like moty horenstein in ufc? This is a pure sport yes,but they also trained for mma added this background and krav maga simply have failed in mma and against an mma fighter your km failed even on the street.don't confuse combat sport with rambo martial arts marketing.

  • Krav maga could work on the street IF they freakin trained at full force often and train for scenarios that could happen on the street. As you could see it's not practical to do that because Krav maga's techniques are too dangerous to train and practice at full force.

That's the inherent advantage of grappling in general. Grapplers know what to expect and can relax, Krav maga people can't

  • yo check out the look on jacare's face when he sees marcelinho's arm there.

    "hm..."

  • Jacare is sickk, Marcelo is the man....and no one should be talking shit about Bravo...

  • I hate the coffee drinkers and pot heads as well. Also people who drink beer suck.

  • And how about those assholes who breathe my air?

  • mato o marcelinho... pois na guarda, passa nao é o forte do marcelo, mas c vai pras costas ja era...

    ooosssssssss

  • I think we can all agree upon one thing when it comes to Eddie Bravo...

    1st... He is a badass

    2nd... He is a crackhead

3rd... After his impressive victory over Royler Gracie he has "hid behind his black belt" he doesent compete and show off WHY he received his black belt and WHY he has the reputation he has.

  • i second that

  • hahah..... so a black belt HAS to compete??? Wow.... If that's the case then the ADCC would have about 10,000 competitors... I didn't know smoking weed made you a "crackhead"... I thought that was when you smoke crack... and as far as hiding behind his black belt he is simply a teacher and a coach now.... I mean damn the guy is like late 30's at least... he's letting his students compete. Check out denny prokopos and brandon quick if you doubt the power of 10th planet....

  • even if every black belt on earth competed, ADCC still wouldn't have that many fighters taking part in their tournament, since only the very best get to participate.

  • yeah no you are stupid. do you even know how abu dhabi works? its qualification(95% of attendees) and invitation(probably 5%). and the tournament is only so big. they have north, and south america tryouts, japanese , korean, european australian, etc. but then they have a bigger tournament, and a bigger one, then they have so many competitors left, which comprise the tournament. i suggest you make another screen name you bravo nuthugger wanna be.

  • i was actually responding to what aespinoza said on page 2.... wasn't even talking to you assclown.... I'm stunned by your knowledge of ADCC... Like I said check Denny Prokopos and tell me if he can compete at this level..... then fax me what you found out to 1800eatshit....

  • yeah whatever faggot go mission control your gay partner and shut the fuck up talking to a real grappler. you just sound stupid white belt.

  • you're right..... i'm so scared of real grapplers like yourself that i'm going to quit jiujitsu..... after I read this I hired a bodyguard and bought a pistol just to feel safer from a keyboard thug like yourself... please accept my heartfelt apologies REAL grappler.... I know I fucked up....

    LOL fucking tool....

  • yup white belt, like i thought. and pretty shitty at trying to emulate being a clever smartass. maybe work on it? and stop talking shit about abu dhabi if you dont know.

  • Look out fellas a 21 year old E-Thug is online and is looking for ppl to beat up.... I would wear your ass out in a real fight if that's you in your picture..... eat a sandwich and get yourself up to fighting weight tool.....

and i'm no gi clown. we don't have belts.... but you probably know that since you're a world renowned grappler... where are all your vids of YOU actually grappling someone so that I can see what a tough guy you are.... cause you have ZERO vids of YOU grappling...

  • are you fucking kidding me? my picture is fucking resized when i put it on here, pretty sure if you knew shit about computers you would know that happens all the time. im 6'1 and 210, so no kid, you wouldnt wear anything out, you would probably just get punched twice and lay on the ground for a long time wondering "why the fuck did i fight this guy, shouldnt have talked shit on youtube"

  • yo "matwizard"...stop being lame man. any real MMA or Jiu Jitsu competitor would never say they were going to kick someone's ass, because real competitors are CLASSY! they are respectful sportmen who would never talk shit unless they were within striking distance of backing it up.

  • Ok first of all who says "yo" , second of all, no, every MMA fighter doesnt fit into your generic iconic envisionment of your stereotype. im a real person just like you and im petty when people open their mouth just like anyone else and i would rather just punch a kid who doesnt understand logic in the first place because everyone understands getting punched is just a really effective way of saying "shut the fuck up"

  • still waiting on those vids....... and how am I a "kid" when i'm 34 and you're 21???? Hell I could be your dad..... but i'm probably not cause my son wouldn't be this lame threatening ppl on youtube.... hahahahahh

  • i wasnt even talking to you. i was talking to sidexwalk

  • further proving my point. you're not a competitor, obviously, since your way of shutting people up is by hitting someone. yeah, really logical. howabout using logic and reason to shut people up? REAL MMA fighters aren't cocky fucks who use their fists to solve problems. they are talented athletes who would only resort to fighting if they had to, not just if they saw a youtube comment they didn't like. haha, go back to pretending that you're a fighter in training...

  • yea fuckin right you are naive. the gracies are "talented athletes" who only rely on fighting if they have to? have you fuckin seen the rickson gracie beach fight. have you watched the video of renzo and relson talking about beating guys up in brazil , just for talking to their girlfriends, or bumping into them at the club. you dont know shit about jiu jitsu or brazilian culture so shut the fuck up loud mouth,

  • you can't use the gracie family as the fucking spokespeople for MMA. you have no clue what you're trying to prove, are you? the gracies do it, so it must be alright? is that your logic? i do know a little bit about jiu jitsu, seeing as i am a blue belt under gustavo machado, and in my personal opinion, you should never fight just for the fuck of it. you fight to protect yourself. if you can't see that, you're an ignorant meathead with no real talent.

  • really yeah i was a ranked wrestler in high school, blue belt in AMERICAN and blue belt in BRAZILIAN jiu jitsu, two time judo state champ. yeah your knowledge of grappling = inferior. and Yes without the gracie family and there style there is no mma. they are the ONLY people qualified to be spokespeople for mma. you fuckin idiot. machado = cousins of the gracies , who started it.

  • just because you'd rather talk about all of your achievements doesn't make my knowledge of grappling inferior, it makes your ego inferior seeing as you can't just be humble about it. two time judo champ of what state, i'd like to know, just out of curiosity? and why are you so damn disrespectful? kids nowadays think they can just call anyone an idiot and be right about it. you don't know me, man, so stop acting like you do.

  • Missouri. and im just opinionated. and i dont mean to come off as an asshole, i actually downplay my ego a lot but clearly i stated my opinion and someone argued with me. its my damn opinion. it doesnt hold that much damn water at THIS level of competition and i know that, but you cant call an opinion wrong. thats the whole point here.

  • also, which years did you win the championship?

  • 2006 and 2007 state judo champ, 2005 state wrestling runner up. started mma in 2006 , boxing in 2003, and wrestling in 2003. Also i trained in Kali for about a year.

  • kinda funny man, seeing as you and i's favorites are quite similar. we'd get along quite well if it wasn't for bullshit

  • dude blue belt in AMERICAN jiu jitsu?

    lol

  • yeah thats real funny huh. but there was a american jiu jitsu BB who fought in UFC really recently and joe rogan (a brown belt in 10PJJ under eddie bravo even said its just as effective. i think he knows more then you. lets not just lol at people. you probably dont even train

  • AMERICAN JIUJITSU?????

hu d fuck was that american jiu jitsu BB? name him?

no offense but that's the sort of the first time i heard about it before i googled it.

and yeah i do know who joe is coz that's where i trained.

  • The guys name is Rob Kimmons

  • Rob kimmons

became a 3rd degree american jiu jitsu black belt with in 9 years.

    decent record 22-4

    2-2 UFC

    trains wtih xtreme couture.

he's submitted most guys by guillotine.

    nice

    thanks for the info.

  • Um, in the case of Rickson, someone was directly insulting him and was looking for a fight. Did you even watch the Relson interview? He states multiple times that he asks the guy to please leave his girlfriend alone (because his girlfriend SAID THE GUY WAS BUGGING HER), and the guy asks Relson to take it outside. Even once outside, Relson tells the guy "it's stupid, there are plent of girls, let's not fight." Relson prides that he never starts fights, and says the same about Renzo.

  • are you kidding me? you dont know anything about the gracies obviously. renzo and ryan street fought more then anyone. and he didnt have to fucking fight the guy, there was club security. have you been to a club in brazil? i have. there are big ass fuckin dudes who get paid to handle that. they try the chuck norris shit. they are just as eager to fight as the other guy, they just know a better way to win. you dont just fight because a guy hits on your girlfriend, idiot.
