There were 0,3-0,4 million Turks (including greek muslims) sent to Turkey.
There were 0,2 million Greeks left in Istanbul they were not exchanged but almost all emigrated to Greece after 1950.

@sevsen4 I have read the bible I know there are 4 different gospels, each are different. And there is the old testament. There were many more gospels but this 4 have been chosen by the priests. So u see original bible of Jesus from God does not exist. Islam isnt so different from chrstianity. In the Quran it is written God created everything and humans, so they can worship him, and He sent them to earth to test them and later who believed and obeyed God can go to heaven and others to hell.

@sevsen4 Nobody in Turkey is descendant of Jannisary, they were not allowed to have children. When it was allowed after 1580 the highest number of Jannisary from christian descent was not more than 14.000, spread all over the empire. The Turkish population was already 5 million. Their children would not make 0,01 % of Turkeys population. Maybe 0,00001% Of Turkeys population descents from christian boy becoming jannisary and marrying muslim woman and having children, but I dont think so.

All the women in Harem were slaves, normal ottoman christian population women were never taken away in Harems. And all women in Harems were very good treated they lived in palaces in luxery, if they had children they became free. Many harem woman later became rich and had a better live then ordinary people.

But very few muslims changed their religion and not because of this punishment. There were maybe in 500 years 500 muslim converted to christianity and probably not more than 100 were beheaded in 500 years.
Orthodox church had totally religious freedom.

@sevsen4 There was no islamisation by the sword, Ottomans could force all christians to become muslim with violence very easily, they did not do this. 500 Years they ruled Balkans, and in those times a large part of the christians converted to islam by their own will. For example Crete was 40% muslim greek, but later christian Greeks killed the muslims or forced them to leave.
Millions of Balkan muslims fled to Turkey and live there now, but they arent jannisaries, just normal converted people.
