This music has the same feel of pre new wave. Like Flock of Seagulls or something. Not quite the right comparison, but it has that same bizarre feeling...that sad with happiness comment....I think I know damned near exactly what you mean....its that "Visage" "Fade to Grey" feeling....The awareness that the world within and the world without aren't aligned...that something in this world is out of place....a sense of being "joyfully doomed" Can't quite articulate it, but that's why its grand!
