maryin hi, nice village i got my layout pics and video, i want you to see it,.. it has cable car too and it works, where can i send you the pics?? hugs..!
Hello! Im Michele. I have been looking at allot of Christmas Villages to get ideas. Yours is the first that actually made me feel warm and like I was at home. Thank you for makeing it available to share with me. Im not good at this stuff but with the inspiration that got from seeing yours I will give it my best shot.
@Iambeautifull2011 Hi, Michele! That's exactly what I did to improve ours this year...looked at vids on youtube. We're really happy with this year's enhancements. I still cringe when I look at the stucco wall behind our 2010 display. Argh! There's no right or wrong way to do this. Create what you like, sit back, and enjoy! I really appreciate your comments. Thank you and best wishes!
Our 2011 village turned out great (we think) with the improvements! Hoping to get a video of it posted within the next couple of days so please check back! (Thank you!)
@debbie38381 Thank you! I like your village too! Our village is mostly Lemax but I think Dept. 56 has some gorgeous pieces. My flying Santa/sleigh, gazebo, and little lion park benches are Dept. 56. Thinking I might need to get a carriage like yours. Finished our "starry night" sky today (looks wonderful!) and just a little tweaking...then we'll do a video for this year. :-)
Workin' away on our 2011 display! Adding "starry night" background (or that's the plan) and a few more doo-dads. Thank you to all who have watched our little video. I can't believe we're almost to 10,000 views! Woohoo! :-)
This is so beautiful!! I love the part when it feels like I'm walking through town It is perfect-not too big, not too small, just enough trees and buildings! I love how you put that house up on the cliff in the corner!! and I've never seen the Santa before (too bad it only goes in a circle, it would be awesome if it went all over)!! And I love how you used the plastic snow and not cotton or baking soda like I've seen in other videos! the stuff you used looks more like snow than cotton :)
@babylover0990 Thank you so much for your comments! We hope to do a better job with the video when we get this year's display up. :-) That flying Santa is by Dept 56. You can find them on eBay sometimes. Lemax makes one also but it doesn't have all the reindeer.
this is very very good! i decorate villages to and i have one village that has a working skating ring with a strand of colored lights but i really love yours :P lol
@mysuper64 I don't remember the brand name. It's just the loose stuff that comes in a bag with a little sparkle to it. I think this year we're going to do a carved styrofoam platform or two.
@NewMocofanel I've bought them from multiple sources but mostly eBay, Michael's Crafts, and Wal-Mart. The brands include Lemax, Dept 56, and Holiday Time. Got the train/track at local hobby train store. :-)
@MaryinFlorida2 congratulations ,, good details soo charmy sweet and a magnificent logic in every piece you get there, how do you make the snow? what kind of material you use it?? hugs ! merry christmas!
@kolhauer Thank you so much! That snow is sold in little bags at stores like Michael's Crafts. My husband made and painted the (plywood) base and then we just sprinkled the snow around. Merry Christmas to you also!

Very nice. It was great how you took us for a walk along the streets to make it seem like we were really amongst it all.

@Matrix803 Move on it! Just leave those glitchy skaters at home. We have enough problems with ours. :-D

@Matrix803 Oops! That should have read..."Move on IN!"...not "it." But leave your skaters at your place. (Still cracking up over your vid.)

This is beautiful, tastefully done. Some people over do them or dont get the set up right yours is perfect. Sophisticated and enchanting. Well done.

@laurarob12345 Thank you! We're doing a little tweaking this year but with our patio only being 6x12, we don't have room to over do it. :-D

Beautiful village! I really love the tree with the blinking white lights and red bows - so pretty! And such a nice focal point. Great job! :)
