  • you know when the beatles cut and shaggy undone past the shoulders hippie look came in for young men brylcream sales must have tanked big time...

  • I honestly thought that Hertz was gonna be something like Male Enhancement.

  • "Everyone is happy when you bring home the coke!"

  • back when items were made in usa those were the days it sucks shit in usa now for the long time familys born here .

  • I loved it!

  • "My sister MADE me try Ajax!!" LOL!

  • Brig home the coke!

  • go to hell

  • @baniyas2011 fuck you

  • those Hertz people almost took out a parade!

  • hot dog diggity are they good!

  • seams like Americans where more honest back then about their products then now! :( .. and That is why everything is made in china! XP

  • This ad is where the Mummies got their tune "Stronger Than Dirt!"

  • HOT DIGGITY DOG!!! Mine came with uranium!

  • Cool and Classic!

  • Classic!

  • Since the beginning of 'Mad Men' I can't watch any retro commercial without thinking about Don Draper.

  • Ughh how I wish I was around in the 50s so baddd!!! Loved the Sandra Dee commercial, and of course the classic Brylcreem jingle! This is back when things were actually fun & innocent!

  • @missohio83 Sure it would be great if you're a white male. If you're a woman or a minority it wouldn't be so fun.

  • A dab'll do ya!! -one flew over the cuckoo's nest, jack says it.

  • That coke commercial was super dippy. If Ipana cleaned your mouth better than flouride toothpaste, we'd all be using it. If you ever get a REAL pirate hat and eye patch in the mail, sell it to a museum. Or, for goodness sake, send them to the dry cleaners 5 times before you try to wear them!

  • Brusha... Brusha... Brusha Here's the New Ipana-With the brand new flavor - it's dandy for your teeth!

  • Love that Vel commercial. He was sort of hot. It would have been great to watch them fuck.

  • Now I know where Justin Bieber stole the idea for his name from....

  • That's The Hi-Lo's singing the Hertz theme. Fantastic!

  • the first commercial reminds me of Skittles.. Lick the Rainbow.. taste the rainbow!! ahahah

  • They say avons rainbow range of shades, I JUST SEE GRAY! But then I remeber that its in black and white. hehe

  • damn the kids at 3:32 are like 50 or 60 now O.o

  • That was Sandra Dee in that Coke commercial.

  • @ladamyre1 I thought so!

  • @FlaxenHairedBeauty Oh, I couldn't have missed Sandra Dee since I've been in love with her ever since I first saw her in the great movie "A Summer Place".

  • LOL LOL @ the Vel commercial!! The housewife is a chemist too!!

  • The good ol' percolators of yesteryear. No home was without one.

  • funny how every commercial needs theme song ^^

  • I wish I could get some of that Vel stuff today. It sound great.

  • americnas ...such a dumbfucked nation ^^

  • Yes bringing home coke makes people very happy and crazy.

  • to bad you cant see the "rainbow" of shades...haha it's in black and white

  • the Vel girl sure payed attention in home economics class :D

  • I remember me and my sister talked my mom into getting Vel so we didnt have to wash the dishes just put some vel into the sink with the dirty dishes :D. yeah right.

  • How does the coffee taste again?

  • That's what Jan was imitating.

  • " everybody's happy when you bring home the coke" LOLZ

  • holdonaminute... soap isn't supposed to burn your skin...

  • i need Ipana brand toothpaste! the talking beaver in space commands meeeee!

  • Wow! Its amazing how comercials were different back then as to now.

  • @SteffBatgirl I grew up watching most of those commercials but they didn't seem different back then. They were as normal as what you see now on tv.

  • @auaiao9 Thats true!

  • had to think of grease...

  • I like how all the commercial back then were a minute, now they're 30 seconds.

  • If you like to look at good coffee, listen to good coffee, smell good coffee and taste goo coffee, brew Maxwell House.

  • Watch a 60's commercial video, then watch a HD video.

  • Clearly, the 1950s is one of the most wonderful decades ever but, in your opinion what decade of the last 30 years would you choose, the 80s, the 90s or the 2000s (If you cannot decide, just choose the ''lesser evil'' - the 80s are alright for me, even as I was born in the mid-90s -)

  • "yes that means harmful chemicals are present in that"

"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU PUT IT IN MY HAND?"

  • @Harleyquinn191 "Mar-VEL-ous"???

  • @Harleyquinn191 Just a minor chemical burn that down the road could give you cancer, but that’s nothing to be concerned about….LOL

  • I have always wondered what they used to edit their videos.

  • Haha" I'm gonna make cavaties in everybody's teeth" LOL WTH?!!! XD

  • the coffee almost slopped out of the cup when it was poured!

  • "Avon's rainbow range of shades"...did they realize their commercials were black & white! lol

  • Ipana was in Grease! :O

  • 'Why is my hand so warm from this wash day detergent?' 'Why that's a chemical burn silly!"

  • My Mom never ever ever looked that happy when she did the dishes.

  • Happy 125th, Coca-Cola. (I remember that commercial, and yes, it might give away my age, LOLOLOL).

  • Does maxwell house coffee taste as good as it smells?

  • god it's nice to see commercials actually advertising the products they're selling. but i'll take our somewhat less ignorant, backwards-progressing in your face society over their intolerant sexist nuclear dropping bullshit.

  • Mmm...Smell it.

  • HERTZ: "With Hertz, you can do things you've never done before! Like plow through a marching band!"

VEL: "Say! Do I feel heat in this hand with your washday stuff?" "You do! It's called second-degree burns. That's what you get for refusing to help me do the dishes!"

BRYLCREAM: "With Brylcream, anything can happen! Watch as those Davey and Goliath-style puppets come to life all by themselves!"

  • Hahah so BRYLCREEM was the Axe of the 50’s.

  • Nothin' rocks a party like a little John Phillip Sousa!

  • people were so full of shit back then, did they take themselves seriously, how is that possible? people are still full of shit now, but we're more honest about it.

  • i wonder where u can get that cool coffe pot at

    .

  • Her name was Mrs. Bob?

  • It's REALLY not greasy and not messy--because clearly that's our ONLY marketing angle!

  • Ipana its better than Oral- or Colgate.. I wish buy one :(

  • Wish That Coke Commercial Will Be Censored

  • @XIxWraithxIX Amen!

  • It TASTES as GOOD as it SMELLS

    EVERYTIME.

  • On a trapeze with Brylcreme on your hands? Who is your lucky partner?

  • @newjerseybt I know right!!

  • Choice of words? If something "smells" it probably isn't inviting. If something has an "aroma" it is probably a pleasant experience.

  • 5:42.

    It's a shame that it's black & white...

  • It taste as good as it smells,(every time!)

  • "Ahhh.......SMELL IT!" LOL!

  • brylcream's is my favorite! <3

  • Haha Sandra Dee... I love her <3

  • those were so cool commercials now they suck shit cause all companys are owned by few people now

  • buenos estos comerciales

  • como se llama la actris de este comercial

  • unico estos comerciales

  • Gotta bring home the coke .

  • Geez, I was born in 1957 and should be used to these type of commercials, but the Pirate party kit commercial kinda freaked me out.

  • beavers... in space... am I the only one finding this a bit awkward?

  • OMG the ipana commercial reminds me of Grease. Where they are having the slumber party and Jan does the brusha brusha . LOL

  • SMELL IT ALREDY!

  • wow these new commercials seem to suck rly bad after watching this

  • @AllyzzRUSK thats right its sucks to live in usa now except if your a billionair

  • I remember hering the toothpaste commertial on grease :P

  • I feel bad for these people in the 50's, Starbucks hadn't been invented...so they had to drink that shitty Maxwell House Coffee

  • 8:08 She just rejected you like 10 seconds ago bro. You can do better.

  • I thought the teens of the 50s liked rock and roll...not matching band music:P lol 50s was the start of mainstream music right? Im sure teens and today would want no marching band fro there awesome high school party when the parents are gone........unless they are major nerds:P (im talking about the teen girl throwing a party coke commercial)

  • @girlstorm09

Mainstream music was always with us...back then rock and roll was not mainstream but alternative! PS I think the ad you're referring to is 60s.Mainstream music bakc then was Gordon Jenkins, the Ames Brothers, etc.,not rock and roll till around 1965.

  • @girlstorm09 I was born in 1945 and yes, we liked rock and roll music, not marching band music!!!

  • LOL I love the ipana commercial. Oh cheesy commercials, gotta love them

  • I wonder if Sandra Dee made this commercial before she stared in Movies?

  • 1 - I don't like the way Maxwell House smells...

2- I'm not eating a hot dog that's been hidden under a rock, I don't care if you give me a swell hat and eye patch

3 - that housewife could have been a chemist, but no, she's stuck in the sexist 50's

  • Love the "The Hi Lo's" singing the Hertz jingle!

  • If anybody got THE BAD RAP it was the pirates who like the SKULL AND BONES symbol of the men who fought side by side with the original founding fathers of the USA. When people finally learn the truth about the pirates helping Americans, it's way up in college level studies, hidden, tucked away. HAR!

  • "... and drink burnt coffee....."

  • I was born in the wrong era :(

  • 1:22-1:30

Is it just me or did they film this commercial in Disneyland?

  • 5:41 haha "in avons raiinbow range of shades" gray, grayer, and oh look! even black... hahahah

  • poor gal smart enough to know what the heat is. I feel so bad for her

  • y is he raving on about the smell of the coffee, not going to do any good through the television XD

  • Percolated coffee loses its flavour because coffee boiled is coffee spoiled.

  • yeah america needs to smell the coffee

  • Jesus, I didn't know i had to worry about fucking chemical burns washing the dishes.

  • @thechairman123 That's because you likely haven't had to worry about it. Years ago, even common house soap was full of lye and other chemicals that would take the skin off your hands. Bad skin, babies accidentally burned (no child-proof containers yet), & ruined clothes, but it sure did clean the muck build-up!

  • Bucky Beaver is cute, but I've seen beaver teeth and if they were the template I think that I'll stay with my old toothpaste. Lol

  • imma get me some VEL....

  • I remember every one - no dvr then. We had to watch commercials. I can still sing most of the jingles but can't remember what I had for breakfast. Whats with that?

  • @rockvilleron LOL! That's funny!

  • They had a lot more time back then to watch coffee percolating...you know, the days before women had actual jobs which required flying out the door in the morning with a pastry in one hand and a baby carrier in the other.

  • @margsyn I keep reading your comment and it hasn't stopped being funny!! Lol.

  • @margsyn You're right but back then womens "actual jobs" were taking care of kids, cooking, and keeping house... not exactly an easy job either. I'm not sure todays woman would want to go back to that but I sure would. Of course our houses would be smaller, we'd have less cars, TVs, toys, and computers ect. ect ect.

I don't blame moms for going to work outside the home - just wish things hadn't evolved that way!!

  • @2:07 Brush-a brush-a brush-a... LMAO!!!

  • @CuteMcBeauty You know, I always wondered where that came from? I'm 18 and still find myself humming that to myself. I guess I got it from the old people who lived in our neighborhood???

  • 3:45 I send in 50 cents and then they only TELL me how to get my Pirate Party Kit?? Sounds like a scam! Where the hell is my 8 maps, crappy ring, and pirate patch??

  • @Prizm4 LOL! and my secret Annie decoder ring only tells me to "drink more ovaltine"! DAMMIT! Where's my Red Ryder BB Gun!

  • 6:19 "....then there was this one time, ...at band camp..."

  • Wow, the commercials back then were really long.

  • Why must the fifties be so damn awesome?

  • that it the best toothpaste commercial i have ever seen!! "brusha brusha brusha, heres the new ipana, with a brand new flavour" hahah

i want a nifty pirate ring!!

that bryl creem commercial was kinda sketchy..

  • I remember waking up to the perculator coffee pot, still have one but I hate using the electric stove ( always seem to boil it over) so drip pot

  • The "annoying" girl on the phone in the Coke commercial is Sandra Dee. I wonder if this was before or after Gidgtet?

  • Oh wow. I remember in Grease when one of the pink ladies sings that Ipana commerical jingle haha.

  • old commercials crack me up! Especially the Ipana one lol

  • i envy my grandparents for being in this era

  • THE STILL MAKE MAXWELL COFFE AD IT SMELLS LIKE SIT THUS IT MUT TASTE LIKE SHIT!!!im more of a teaperson but i ue alot of sugar and milk in my tea.....ad i hte energy drinks they onlygive you thousands of grams of sugar(more tan your body can break down in a day) and later ou end up feeling like shit when your body uses all o your energy trying to digest he sugar hih maes you tired..-_-

  • No wonder I like Pepsi, that Coke commercial is so annoying. Well, just the girl on the phone.

  • Must....buy...Ipana.

  • I LOVE to look and smell good coffee

  • i want this Ipana toothpaste right now LOL

  • @jamesbondoosevenm me too...

  • ... I want to buy Ipana toothpaste

  • 6:38 "....Then I had to give 'em all coke too, to brighten them up! I even saved some coke for mom and dad!" Damn those sixties coke whores were generous with their coke back then! LMAO!

7:00 "... bring home the coke, bring home the coke, everybody's happy when you bring home the coke!" ROFL!

  • @MagnetoMasterOfEvil I WISH MY DEAKER WAS THAT GENEROUS!JK=D

  • Comment removed

  • in the old days it used to be more harder getting pay the used to give u like only 1cent per day

  • @PedroyItatiFan You're an idiot

  • @TheJ631 How i am Idiot Retard its the FUCKING truth TURD

  • @PedroyItatiFan You are an idiot if you think people got paid 1 cent a day back then.

And you cant write for shit.

  • @TheJ631 Ughhh Stop Fighting Sooo you can calm Down ill say "your right" Ok HAPPY

  • That is Sandy Dee...

  • @lelsieldeleon37

I recognized her voice. That kind of whiny voice is distinctly her. LOL!

  • Bring home the coke . xDD

    I'm like dying of laughter

  • honest coffee smell? lol

  • OMG! I want to live THEN! AVON existed then???

  • coca cola... nice coca

  • that vel man now is 500lbs and woman is dead and bloated on the chair..because he can remember where he put her

  • yep dead and rotting in there graves...........

  • @flogadong I think you're right. I have thought about buying a percolator (can we even still get them? If so, which is recommended?) so I can try it. I was too young to experience percolator vs. drip coffee maker. Thanks.

  • I like the big production they put into the jingles back then, lots of horns in most of these commercials. Commercials are boring now as compared to these.

  • all these people are dead now

  • @lilbewitchedgirl Nice to know I am not the only one that thinks things like that
