  • Bravissimo Leonard !

  • Grande! Grandissimo Warren!

  • He didn´t die after singing the aria. He collapsed on stage because of a heart attack, and died in his dressing room.

  • Wonderful.

  • Brilliant gem of vocal history

  • the king hasn't been replaced since-- I doubt t he ever will -Probably more influential to any aspiring dramatic baritone than any one in history -. The power and fullness at the top =- I think he gets to sing the duets with Caruso now - That's when you really hear the thunder from the heavens!! Thanks for this great upload!

  • My all time favorite baritone...I don't think anyone comes close. Thanks so much for uploading this.

  • tht's y pava's afraid of forza?

  • Wonderful. A bit scary to listen, though, knowing he died later while singing this aria...

  • @Sieglinde84 Exactly what I thought.

  • @Sieglinde84 verdi operas are so diffcult and rangy for the baritone -You have to sing over dramatically loud orchestras and choruses - At least Warren died in the role of a Verdi character -- We'lll never see his like again! He was the king -- I think he knew it!

  • @Sieglinde84 this was sung in 1953. He died 7 years later.
