kenyans train in the mountains where theres little oxygen and when they go and race in america or something like that in an oxygen rich place its like they can run 4 ever
@Burghlax false. learn about the kip keino - jim ryun saga. keino won at altitude ryun at sea level. people that train at altitude are at a disadvantage at sea level...
Am in Japan for studies, though am a Kenyan.Through my own research i a've found their are so many Japanese company that are looking for honest Kenyan runner, and have Njenga ever given it a thought? All the Best Daniel ,your effort will surely pay.
I have heard about the chasing Kimbia Project and have seen all videos of that here at YouTube. But Daniel is not in that project but now in another training group and process in Kenya.
he is running very strong. i mean he has a good structure when he runs. And good times by the way how often does he train? and for how long? great video!
when I shot this video, Muturi trained every day in the morning for 2 hours and some days during the week also in the evening, - But now he changed his training program and I can't say you now how often he trains. But I will ask him in the next weeks by cellphone.
I can't answer your question in general, but for Muturi and his training situation I can say: He makes his training in the near of Nyahururu in the Laikipia Distrit of Rift Valley in Kenia. Nyahururu is in the altitude of 2400 m. During the day it becomes about 25-30 Celsius, in the night it can cool down to 8 Celsius. My video of him where shot a short hour after sunrise, when it was round about 18-20 C. and very often there can be a fresh wind also. (See part 2)
it sounds simple, but because the Africans are used to hot and very hot temperatures in their home countries, 18-20° celsius is not very high, and I am sure you know how important it is for every sport to keep your muscles and bands warm also because you want to be protected to harm yourself easisly ...
... so what? I have never heard that times can be silly, may be comments can be silly, but times? Why should I give this information, when it is not true? _ But please: not a silly answer to this question now. :-)
This Video clip was shot in Jan. 2007, Muturi was just 23 years old. He tells it also in the other clip (for that click please at the video response obove this comment section) which was shot at Xmas 2006.

everday a gazelle wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest lion in order to survive. every morning a lion wakes up knwoing it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve. it doesn't matter if you're a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
thats a DISCOVERY CHANNEL comment, you dont have imagination (The Jacketx8)!!!! by the way this guy have AMAZING times i wish can be like him (running)
Hm... the 3000m time you posted for Daniel is significantly below the level of his other two posted times. I have run 8:50 for 3000, but only 15:47 for 5000 (have never raced the 10000).
nakuwish all the best Muturi Daniel Wahome and by the way, the simple sound of nature kwa hiyo clip is something else. i cant wait mpaka the day i step out of the plane and take a whiff of that good old kenyan air.
njenga niatia I m a jogger not runner many people dont know the difference u are a strong consistent runner I could the hilly parts were well hilly your times look great I II pray for u and keep running never loose hope whats your last time by the way????

It was a typical beautiful January morning in the Kenyan highlands in District Laikipia West near Nuahururu.

I have a question which may be comonly asked, but I'll ask again since I don't know the answer.
Why does it always seem in videos that Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes wear long clothing when training?
Are they really that used to the heat, or is it colder in Kenya than we Americans may realize?

times are silly. His 3k time is like slower pace than his 5k time and the 5k time is only 20seconds of pace for his 10k time...
