  • xxviciousbeautyxx and ZzRvXzZ are banned. i have had enough of your arguments. this is not a forum for your petty childish ways. if people want to argue extensively outside of the subject matter presented, take it to personal messaging.

  • In my Popculture class they said that the explosion was caused by bad "o-rings" in the Rocket that lifted the shuttle

  • @BleachBrothers08 partially true. the freezing weather caused the o-ring in the right solid rocket booster to fail leading to the hot gases leaking through and burning through the main external fuel tank igniting the liquid oxygen & liquid hydrogen leading to the catastrophic explosion. Shuttle engineers and engineers that made the external tank and boosters warned NASA managers it was unsafe to launch and said the o-rings will fail in freezing weather.

  • @yourjudgeandjury That explains it thanks dude.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • Wow kind of sad the guy just says obviously a major malfunction, seriously? He's says it so calmly too like not big deal.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

Why did you expect? he's not a justin bieber fan like, you fucking sissy....

He's a profession and his radio chatter is being transmitted live...

did you expect him to say "OMGGG MOMMY, THEY DIED... i'm gonna cry... omgosh o my gosh im saddd, someone hug me"

go die, you fucking justin bieber fan

  • @ZzRvXzZ Um first of, do you really need to disrespect someone over a simple comment? I didn't say anything wrong and you're sitting there calling me names and telling me to go die? Seriously? You need to majorly grow up and be mature and respect people. So an explosion is no big deal then, that's what you're pretty much saying. You'd think he'd act a little more shocked and have a reaction. Why is Bieber being meantioned exactly? I can't stand him but thanks for your pointless comment

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

    Quit crying, you little sissy

  • @ZzRvXzZ You know you're being pretty pathetic right? You're the one that whined to me because you simply didn't like my comment. I'm sorry you feel the need to call me a "sissy" because I actually feel for the people that fucking died. Obviously people dying in an exposion doesn't mean anything to you.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

yes, it is because you're a little stupid and ignorant KID. quit whining, those guys are professional, only because they didn't cry or shout like a sissy it doesn't mean that they aren't human....

    sissy

  • @ZzRvXzZ So now I'm stupid and ignorant? WOW someone must have issues and you like to vent on other people that did nothing to you. I'm 21 so no I'm not a kid but maybe you are since you are clearly acting like one with the childish insults (that's real adult like). I never once said they have to cry or shout did I? No, just because you are a professional doesn't mean you can't react towards something horrible. Still don't know what the hell your problem is.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

Hmmmm it seems that you're really stupid...

    It doesn't matter if you're 21, 50, or 102 years old.

If you act like a child, you're going to be considered as a child.

They did react toward the horrible event, they just stayed calm, and kept doing their work.

    WHAT DID YOU EXCPECT?

"Omg that's horrible, i really feel sorry for them, omg poor bastards."

  • @ZzRvXzZ You clearly don't get what I'm trying to say and once again you make absolutely know sense calling me a child when I did nothing at all and never ever said they had to go omg omg and so on. I like how you say poor bastards. Proves my point that you clearly didn't give a shit they were killed. What if it was your family? Whatever though because you don't understand. You're funny still calling me a child, YOU ARE THE ONE CALLING ME RIDICULOUS UNCALLED FOR NAMES. THAT IS CHILDISH.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

    hmmmmmmm

    So whats your point?

  • @ZzRvXzZ My point is that you are the childish one since you feel you need to disrespect me over NOTHING and that obviously don't get what my original comment was about. I really hope you don't talk to your family the same way.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

    ahhhhhhh ohhhh.....

shut the fuck up, little virgin.,

  • @ZzRvXzZ You shut the hell up since you were the one that HAD to reply to my comment. Also maybe you should grow up and get a life.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

are u jelly? because you're crying because they DIED>...

  • @ZzRvXzZ Don't believe I was "crying" but YES I think it's said they died. I actually have heart and care about other unlike you pretty much saying it's no big deal, so what people died.

  • @xxviciousbeautyxx

    Virgin kid...

hahahahhahhahahaaha I think you're too young to understand... time will teach you....

Their death was quick, and painless... why should i be sad about it?

  • @ZzRvXzZ You act like I'm 5 years old, I'm a damn adult and I'm not fucking stupid. It doesn't matter if their death was quick and painless, it's still upsetting that people lost their lives that didn't need to just like with all the other people that killed in the world or murdered. Are you happy about it? I would hope not. Again you are the one not understanding obviously, just leave it at that.

  • is a monster :S

  • monster :S

  • Why does everyone keep saying it must have been horrible for the people on board. When it was more likely they died instantly without the knowledge that anything was wrong.

Compare this to being stabbed in the belly and taking 5+ minutes to die or drowning. Knowing before you are going to die is much worse than dying without knowing

  • My first thought is always "DAMN YOU, ICARUS!"

  • THAT STORY IS SAD BECAUSE THERE WAS A TEACHER ON BOARD..

  • poor

  • We stand on the shoulders of giants.

  • Am I the only one who noticed it break apart into the form of the illuminati hand symbol of 2 horns?

  • just sad seeing that shuttle try to fly away and then slowly be burn't alive/ desingated.

  • Wow, it didn't just explode, it like, disintegrated...for something so huge it looks like such a small amount of falling debris o.o

  • This is really sad. When I watch this I sort of get these weird emotions feeling what they went through... : (

  • GOD DANG NASA THEY DONT UNDER STAND there sacrificing people for what SCIENCE we could of sent robots with cameras up there but NOO they want to do things the easy sacrifical way

  • horrible, least is was extremely quick.

  • That guy who is talking is TOO CALM

  • @mjlover561 he could not see what was going on he was in a building.

  • This is horrible, I was just thinking, everyone on boards family and friends had to watch that. Must have been horrible.

  • Like if you think 1:34 looks like a valkyrie rocket

  • @CameronHotspurs shut the fuck up.... this is NOT the video to make stupid remarks about a video game on

  • @Dalemoooooon True though :3

  • @CameronHotspurs It dosnt matter if its true or not... you dont post crap like that on a video of such a tragic event like this

  • @Dalemoooooon Not the worse thing to happen. I wouldn't call it tragic. They knew the risks they were taking by launching.

  • @CameronHotspurs how old are you?.... seriously..... 7 good people were killed... how is that not tragic?.... Your practically saying that its not tragic when anyone dies from somthing they knew might happen.... "the recent japan disaster? not tragic... they knew that the island was prone to earth quakes....." "10 car pile-up? not tragic... they knew the risks when they got into the car.... "

Just because they knew the risks, dosnt make it any less tragic.

  • @CameronHotspurs Not the worst thing? Jesus Christ kid, how much worse could it have gotten? Explain that in your own warped way....

  • @Starbuckfsd No it's a disaster, but it isn't the worst thing to happen by miles, unless you take NASAs reputation into consideration. Not that mean people died.

  • @CameronHotspurs dude are you listening? what worse could happen to those astronauts? I'd think being blown up by a rocket and seared to death is the worst thing...

  • @Starbuckfsd They knew the risks, thats why they have release forms. So In reality, it's there own fault.

  • I get chills whenever I hear "go with throttle up".

  • @cottagechskitty I still get tears when I hear the response, "Roger, go with throttle up."

  • @cottagechskitty me too

  • i was in a field on that day picking up stonesand putting themin my barra when this happened, ever since i just have to dance with my barra ,two worlds collide and lives were changed forever

  • wasn't it a cold day and that was the cause and it could've been prevented if they launched on a warmer day.

  • how come the guy talking doesnt even sound bothered :|

  • @cawthy07 because he can't see it perhaps? just looking at a screen somewhere!?

  • @k1ngross BINGO! He is merely watching telemetry on a computer screen from the space shuttle computers and not the actual launch.

  • Major Malfunction.... YOU DONT SAY?.......

  • @jonsadj7 A quote from then NASA manager Michael Hale in a documentary, "Oh that day we were ignorant, quite frankly; and we thought it was a good day to fly, but it wasn't."

Really? Engineers were begging NASA management not to launch. Even the manaufacturer of the boosters and main fuel tank were screaming not to launch. You'd think that giant icicles on the launch gantry would be a HUGE red flag. It in a way was like a can of soda in your freezer going off.

  • @yourjudgeandjury Did NASA ever say why they were so eagerly persistent to launch that day, despite the warnings? It continues to puzzle me why we wait to make safety and precautions a higher priority until AFTER something happens.

  • @discountbacon No they did not. One of the judges for the Teacher in Space program said that in a way it was a publicity stunt. The piece of information I dug up was that if NASA had to delay the launch yet again, the mission would then have to be delayed for several months. I think it was simply the fact they rushed to launch simply for the publicity for the Teacher In Space program.

Safety a higher priority until something happens is part of the mind set. It comes down to cost.

  • @yourjudgeandjury I think many of us should learn a big lesson from the Challenger; hopefully NASA has learned the most. The safety of their crew should be a priority above their research, and especially before any publicity. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. I'm subscribed.

  • @jonsadj7 That was putting it very lightly!

  • @jonsadj7 That's exactly what I was about to say.

  • The sad thing about what happened is that all that could have been prevented if NASA and the management team of the contractors of the booster rockets would have listened to their engineers. 7 ppl died for the almighty dollar.

  • wow.. the guy talking is so calm.

  • @AshKilamande cuz he isn't a panzy. You don't hire panzies at nasa.

  • Wow best video of Challenger by far. Its moving knowing that that moment, 7 people died for science.

  • @MrFrostedCookie Unfortunately many considered this a publicity stunt for NASA to launch a teacher into space to get the public interested in the space program again
