@LJtricks That depends on the build and boost level. Im sure you have some that last for a while and some that only last a year or 2. Another factor is how well you take care of it after its built. To many factors to take in when considering a engines life span. Its not like its a b18 at 600hp. But if they are out racing it all the time and putting unneccessary strain on it then it wont matter the hp level, it wont last that long. Although it would be hard NOT to race with over 600hp lol

That level of power is dangerous on any motor save v12 or higher. 6 and 8 cylinder need more modifications and reinforcement. Due to Forging technology, head gasket technology, and cooling technology that we have available to us, these smaller 6 and 8 cylinder engines can live at these levels for extended amount of time. Now if your dogging it constantly then even a v12 will eventually blow.

just remember the price your paying tho... what over couple hundred thousand compared to under 1 hundred k. please you should consider that if ur paying that it should out perform any street car.
Saleen actually offers a copetition package for the latest TT and it puts out over 1000hp so I think the supra might have some trouble with that one. And remember that the stock 750hp TT S7 is only running 5psi crank that bad boy up to a nice number like 20psi and then see where your beloved supra stands. Power ain't everything either...

I respect Supras, but I(and hopefully you) also understand that if you put the amount of money/work into any other car, it will go just as fast, and in some cases faster. Btw, the world land speed record is held by the ThrustSSC; 763mph in 1+ mile.
Secondly i drive a s4 audi, semi modded (you could say) LOL, has over 600hp and i stomp on shitty vettes all day. I spent 10k to buy car and another 15k to mod it and thats a hell of a lot less than any vette will cost. Supra's can be ridiculously fast....but come on, if someone offered you a choice between the two, that aint no choice at all...hell, take the saleen, sell it, and buy 5 built Supras....but man, that is one beautiful vehicle (the saleen).

come on people...the saleen s7 is a much cooler looking car and is worth more money. Supra's are cool but any thing with a turbo can be fast, now that saleen is all natural horsepower.

I'd rather have the S7 then sell it and buy a supra lol. Depending on certain engines you don't need much to make a lot of power. I built a small block chevy with racing cams, ported and 750 4 barrel that puts out 597hp and 620tq.

Everyone seems to not like the supra that much saying do this and do that to their cars and watch what happens. Just type in 1000hp supra into the search and its one of the most common cars to be built over 1000hp. Not bad for a 3.0l 6cyl

@trulyawakened its also one of the heaviest after everything is done to it. to the untrained eye (female) the supra is just an out dated toyota. not saying their bad cars, theyre beautiful, but with the price you pay to find a supra in the first place and then the mods, you might as well just buy something more current.

@trulyawakened I've seen way more 1000hp Vettes and other DSM. Considering they are wayyyyy more popular now that they have several years of production more than Supra's do. It's a badass car, but they aren't as popular anymore, sadly.

@LJtricks That depends on the build and boost level. Im sure you have some that last for a while and some that only last a year or 2. Another factor is how well you take care of it after its built. To many factors to take in when considering a engines life span. Its not like its a b18 at 600hp. But if they are out racing it all the time and putting unneccessary strain on it then it wont matter the hp level, it wont last that long. Although it would be hard NOT to race with over 600hp lol

@Maxamis21 They had a 1000+hp daily driver skyline on Topgear that the owner drove daily. That level of power is dangerous on any motor save v12 or higher. 6 and 8 cylinder need more modifications and reinforcement. Due to Forging technology, head gasket technology, and cooling technology that we have available to us, these smaller 6 and 8 cylinder engines can live at these levels for extended amount of time. Now if your dogging it constantly then even a v12 will eventually blow.

Saleen actually offers a copetition package for the latest TT and it puts out over 1000hp so I think the supra might have some trouble with that one. And remember that the stock 750hp TT S7 is only running 5psi crank that bad boy up to a nice number like 20psi and then see where your beloved supra stands. Power ain't everything either...

@871263 You forget to mention that the Saleen weighs less than 3000lbs. Your average full weight Single turbo Supra weighs 3600lbs. It need the extra power to make up for the weight disadvantage. And tell me one Ford GT that has a better 1/4 mile time than SW's 6 speed time. Oh wait you can't.

@jhartman023 When you say "Toyota Supra owns fastest 1 mile land speed record" be sure to let everyone know, and remind yourself, that it has been modified, therefore it's not much of accomplishment on the Supras part, but more so on the tuners part. I respect Supras, but I(and hopefully you) also understand that if you put the amount of money/work into any other car, it will go just as fast, and in some cases faster. Btw, the world land speed record is held by the ThrustSSC; 763mph in 1+ mile.

Secondly i drive a s4 audi, semi modded (you could say) LOL, has over 600hp and i stomp on shitty vettes all day. I spent 10k to buy car and another 15k to mod it and thats a hell of a lot less than any vette will cost.
