  • I still need to go on one of these cruises

  • The dream

  • Demographics. I would like to see carnival put a Monorail on one of these ships.

  • Oasis is a monster compare to the dream

  • I REALLY LIKE OASIS SHE IS BIGGER HAS LOTS OF THINGS AND SHE ROCKS!

  • Disney Cruise. the very best.

  • I have been on several cruises. Whether it be on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, or Norwegian. Royal Caribbean has the nicest ships, but I've always had more fun on Carnival. For some reason Carnival attracts the "party crowd". Royal Caribbean attracts the older, more reserved crowd. I don't know if it's because it's cheaper or what. These are both nice ships, but the Oasis is the better ship. I would still choose Carnival over Royal Caribbean any day.

  • @XxGRIZZWALDxX see carnival looks fun but i think RC ships just look better =]

  • OASIS ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok Carnival Dream Is Much More Prettier, and she is Gorgeous.

  • @xEveryThingRocksx wtf?? what do u mean fake??

  • How much bigger is oasis then carnival dream?

  • @thehahacac ALOT!!!!!! Carnival dream is bigger than monarch but monarch can kick dreams but.

  • @WamsWarrior Agreed!

  • @WamsWarrior u stubid bitch the dream is a whole lot bigger than monarch so it can kick the monarch's butt and someone should kick yours

  • @5115heath ok go back and tell me exactly where i said monarch is bigger than dream... and just because something is bigger ddoesnt mean it can kick somethings ass... and you should kick your ownself in the ass for being retarded.....

  • @WamsWarrior I said it was bigger so it can kick the monarchs butt bigger things beat up smaller things DUH!

  • @thehahacac to answer the question statistically, the oasis can hold 5,400 passenger when the Dream can hold 3,652

  • @InternationalCharity what question was this??

  • @WamsWarrior the one right under this question

  • @WamsWarrior oh the how much bigger is oasis...

  • @thehahacac

The Carnival Dream is 130 000 gt and is 1004 ft long

The Oasis of the seas is a whopping 225 282 gt and 1181 ft long

  • I have never been on either of these ships but If I got the chance to go one one of these ships I would choose oasis.

  • @thehahacac GREAT CHOICE

  • Hey Wams!!

Been 7 months ago since I commented. LOVED Oasis!!! It was a wonderful cruise.

SO good in fact that we booked for Jan. 16th on Allure!!!

Got a great price on a room on deck 14. $2500 for the both of us!

  • @dlabout well that's GREAT did u buy a model? for allure u need to buy a huge duffle bag so u can take me. lol

  • And RC has five bowthursters on the oasis and their is no need to have that many .Four bowthursters will do fine .Just make them more powerful . Their just trying to make their ship look bigger with five.

  • @EtecGear they r still better

  • CARNIVAL has a nother cruise company somewere else .carnival is bigger then RC but RC has the oasis that is not much bigger the Carnival dream. Their is a video of the carnival dream and the oasis docked next to each other and their is not a big size difference .The oasis is just wider for the mall inside ,Its longer because the mall will be longer then other RC ships . GO CARNIVAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @EtecGear dude.... the oasis is 100 ft. longer almost twice as heavy and twice as wide ive been on carnival 8 times more than rcc but rcc is alot better

  • @WamsWarrior SORRY I DIN'T SAID THAT IT WAS A BAD VIDEO.IF YOU FELT BAD ABOUT THE COMMENT,SORRY.

BY THE WAY OASIS OF THE SEAS ROCKS!

  • Oasis all the way! I've been on two cruises with RCCL the Monarch of the Seas and the Rhapsody of the Seas and they were awesome!!!

  • @Firephinx4 omg when did u go on monarch? i love her she was the best first cruise!!

  • OASIS OF THE SEAS BABY

  • i have been in oasis of the seas and it cost 8,435 for child and 9,500 for adult !!

  • @michtorg2 was it one of the first cruise and did u have a suite??

  • @michtorg2 dude i ve been on the ship and it isnt that expensive

  • 3 of my crises have been with carnival but RC is alot better

(one was on majesty of the seas

  • @ageofempires619 I AGREE

  • BOTH ARE GOOD LINES BUT LIKE RCI BETTER

  • @crumadonis HOW MANY CRUISE HAVE YOU BEEN ON?

  • I agree with number1raider1993 RC is by far better than Carnival.

  • @maz34288 and i agree with you =]

  • @maz34288 no

  • OASIS!

  • oasis

  • lets go oasis lets go woot woot

  • oasis of the seas is much much better...carnival has a water slide big woop... oasis has 2 flow riders, a multipurpose sports court, mini golf, 2 rock climbing walls, zip lining, more pools and hot tubs than carnival, aqua theater, boardwalk with tons of stores and food places, carrosell, SHALL I CONTINUE??? central park with stores, 2 floor mall, casino, 5 floor dinning room, its bigger, looks nicer, better service, on board touch screen passenger navigation system, and more but i ran outa room

  • CORRECTIONS. 3 floor Royal Promenade. 3 floor Dinning room.and the rest i agree with.

  • plus ice skating

  • Obivously without a doubt, OASIS OF THE SEAS!!!

  • Let me see, this is a hard one......

    RCI all the way.

  • ==]]

  • They need to rename the soverign class now that she is gone.

  • Not really because Monarch and Majesty will leave in the next 4 years.

  • i have a coworker that came back from the oasis. she said the ship is amazing and very beautiful but was just too big and over crowded. food was ok waited in looooong lines but liked carnivals better. she liked royal caribbean and would cruise them again, just not the oasis.

  • Hmm.. that's funny because I've heard the exact oppisite of what you said. Their wasn't any line, food was GREAT, and she wasn't overcrowded. Maybe your friend just had bad luck.

  • Give it some time. Right now Oasis is the hottest ship on the Ocean!! Was it a school vacation week?? All ships are packed then.

Have you friend try the RCCL Radiance Class (3 ships in class) or the Voyager Class ships (5 ships in class) theres also the Legend Class. RCCL has over 20 ships, it shouldn't be hard to find another great RCCL cruise.

  • Couple of corrections. Radiance class has four ships(Serenade, Radiance, Jewel, Brilliance). Also, it's not Legend class, it's Vision class. But I agree, When you go on a school vacation time it is very packed. You'll have great fun on your next RC vacation.

  • I stand corrected. I forgot about the Jewel. They keep renaming the old classes. There used to be a Legend class, Vision Class, and Enchantment Class.

  • No. I know what's happening. Legend and Splendour have the same deck plans but they are different from Vision, Rhapsody, and Enchanment. Enchanment got her overhaul and her deck plans changed from the rest of the Vision class ships. So in the Vision class there are three different deck plans but they are still in the same class because they have the same hull design. It's complicated.

  • I wonder what happened

I went on the Enchantment, it was a great ship before they put the bugee trampolines on it.

  • @RCCLDisney Well RC wanted to try something. So what do you mean by your first sentence

  • Sorry I ment to say that, thanks, I wondered what happend to the other ship classes.

  • @RCCLDisney What other ship classes? It's always been Vision class.

  • oasis rapes dream in it's ass

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're soooo damn right. LOL

  • im goin on its 9 day special crabbien cruise

  • I assume that your talkin about Oasis?

Let us know how you make out! I'm doing a little survey of both ships. I have a really good feeling that there will not be any dissapointed travelers from the Oasis I'm not sure about Carnival Dream.

  • That's cool. I bet that is expensive.

  • WamsWarrior,

My wife and I are now 37 days out from our trip on Oasis. We'll let you know how it goes. Our trip on Adventure of the seas in July was wonderful but its time to cruise again!! Oasis looks like it will be a grand adventure.

  • How do you go on Oasis for 37 days!!!!!!!!!

    That has to be expensive!!!!

  • LOL!! 37 days until we board the ship.

Wish I could do 37 days cruising. Not there yet. I'll let you know what we think of Oasis when we get back. We are on the January 16th cruise.

  • Lol. You don't need to tell me about oasis because as soon as i get 8 grand for oasis, i'm going!!!

  • oh yea, I forgot about the royal promanade and the H2O zone. The crazy thing is that I'm sure didn't mention a lot of other stuff. Craziest of all is that I haven't been on the Oasis yet and its twice the size of the ship that had all this stuff.

RCCL is simply awsome!! There is just no other cruise lines with such a following and such a cutting edge approach. Name another cruise line building ships like this!! Maybe in their dreams, but nothing under construction that I know of.

  • I know that is why I love Royal Caribbean!!!

They are pretty much the best cruise line!!!!!!!!

  • RCCL stands alone as far as having things to do onboard. Ice skating, surfing, rock climbing, basketball, vollyball, soccer, dodge ball, in-line skating, miniture golf, virtual golf, and all the regular and sports pool activities. Then the entertainment, Ice skating shows, broadway shows, comedy shows, water shows, street performers, Vagas shows, etc.

Carnival ships, because of design, do not have the availible venues to have some of these types of shows.

    NO COMPARISON!! RCCL IS IT!

  • hourglass87,

Go on some more cruises. Keep trying both lines. Keep you mind open and give RCCL another chance. I can't amagine that Carnival has more activites!! If one ship has more things to do then the other how can Carnival have more activities? Maybe a better way to put your argument is that Carnival has more structured activities. Even then, maybe its was true on the 2 cruises you went on, but not typical!!

  • Rc have better boats. i must say the boat isnt the only thing that makes the cruise. but outside the boat stuff like going to the pool and flo rider and that stuff they dont have many games and entertainment throughout the day. i do love sushi and every carinval b oat has a sushi bar. let me add good sushi bar. RC sushi was so nasty. I had fun on both lines but carinaval has the better food. i mean that chocolate melting cake man! Rc did have better room service but carnival is just better

  • oasis of the seas ALL THE WAY KIDS!!! carnival dream looks like crud compared to that nylon BEAST lol jk im just kiddin but REALLY REALLY i love oasis maybe u can tell by my nametag hehehehe

  • lol. be my friend

  • I think Oasis, she gonna take in many persons into the "Cruise Life". But what i think gonna happen is that Carnival gonna come out with more sisters to Carnival Dream, because she is in midsize an can come into more ports around the world, than Oasis that just can come in to special ports.

  • not exactly true.

Oasis can pretty much go anywhere like dream just not able to dock. Her guest would need to be tendered.

  • @WamsWarrior actually thats not true either because royal caribbean has been building docks in many ports for the oasis! :)

  • I'm talking bout like if she were to go to china or something!!! not just the caribbean where she is located

  • i'm sorry but this is a very unfair contest - oasis of the seas quite literally pisses on every other passenger ship ever! no offence to carnival (nice ship) but this is like comparing concorde to a hang glider!!!

  • @thehoff1982 Exactly

  • Like I said before. It isn't Royal Caribbean's fault Carnival CAN'T keep up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carnival hasn't exactly tried to even think of building a ship like Oasis. Most of their ships mostly look identical on the outside. And that is BORING!!!!!!! Even Costa has copied the outside designs.

It's funny because Splendor was suppose to belong to Costa. Carnival couldn't even think about a ship like Splendor.

But now even Costa is building larger and better ships than Carnival!

  • but i like rcc the best. carnival is awesome but not as good as rcc and princess is horrible

  • if you like rc soo much, why have you been n more carnival

  • cause

  • oasis

  • oasis has a carousel

  • oasis

  • the volume of oasis of the seas is 50% bigger then the volume of carnival dream!Oasis of the seas also has 24 restauraunts and carnival dream has 3. Oasis of the seas also has wave pools a zipline, a icerink and 4 pools a park with trees 4 and a h2o zone with 2 waterslides. All carnival dream has is 3 pools and 6 slides

  • That is why I wanna go on Oasis

  • CARNIVAL.

    :))

  • carnival dream

  • u might be the only won in the world lol

  • I see that

  • Carnival Dream is a beautiful ship with out question. But in my opinion it is extremely moronic to say that Carnival Dream is a nicer ship than The Oasis of The Seas. The Royal Caribbean Ship will be extremely elegant, revolutionary and innovative. There is NO comparison to Royal Caribbean International's services & brilliance.

  • It's not a fair compare. But design wise the Oasis loses big times. And that hurts to say as a true RCCL fan :P They're losing it man!!!

  • Oasis of the seas!!!!

  • In terms of ship I would definitely go Oasis all the way, the Dream can barely compete with the voyager class, which is from 10 years ago. I went on the Carnival Conquest last November and this year I will be taking my first RC cruise in December. Honestly on the Conquest, I was very bored on the days at sea, yes parts were fun but there were many hours of me just looking for food. I had to eat to pass the time because the youth programs were pitiful and there was not much to do onboard for free

  • wow, you just definatly made me not want to go on carnival. lol i think carnival's pool decks are too small. i've seen the carnival paradise's and i thought, how are you supose to get around on that little thing with 1 thousand people!! they need to get wider.

i've been on monarch of the seas and loved her. i can't beleive royal caribbean and their designs. monarch is older than paradise and she is better!!!!

ROYAL CARIBBEAN ALL THE WAY!!!!!what cruise are you going on in december?

  • I will be going on Voyager of the Seas out of Galveston.

I checked online and Oasis of the Seas is 154 ft wide and Carnival Dream is only 122 ft wide. You are defiantly right, Carnival's ships are not wide. Plus, I have heard that wider ships do not rock as much.

  • well, it all depends on what help control that ship. some ships have stabilizers, some ships have fins. it depends on the design too. was the ship made for trans-atlantic cruises or the panama canal. Carnival choose panama canal.

  • Except that the Carnival Dream is too large to currently fit through the Panama Canal... However it will be able to fit when the expansion of the canal opens, but at the rate these ships are getting larger (passenger and cargo) those locks will soon become obsolete. Just a random fact.

  • is it just me or does the dream have rudders, NO PODS!!!!

    Oasis 4 sure!!!!

  • dream has propellers which is stupid because pods make a ship more easyier to control.

dumb idk why carnival still uses props

  • I have only ever cruise Carnival, and consider myself quite loyal-----but I plan to cruise on Oasis sometime in the future for sure. Its like comparing apples and oranges.

  • that's cool your going on oasis. how is it like comparing apples ad oranges?

  • This battle not exist, Oasis is better!!!

  • It really is not fair to compare these ships, because Oasis is far, far superior in its features, design and size! Not saying Carnival Dream is any dingy, but it just does not come close to the amount of amenities and features Oasis has on board. However some people may think having endless things to do on a ship is not a priority, so they can go on Dream and slide down the water slide while I go surfing, zip lining, walk through the different neighborhoods and watch an outdoor aquatic show!

  • it is very fair. Carnival can't come up with new things like Royal Caribbean. It's not Royal Caribbean's fault or my fault that Carnival can't keep up.

  • Carnival Dream all the way

  • GO RCCL!

  • carnival hands down. i dont care about a merry go round. rather have a water slide lol. plus the food on carnival is great

  • Dream has some cool stuff, but Oaisis takes the cake. Where else can you find a park, merry-go-round, and 2 surf simulators all on ONE boat???

  • I know right?

  • Comment removed

  • Carnival Dream

  • oasis is the better ship

  • ive been on the adventure and the freedom of the seas, and may be going on the oasis. but ive never been on a carnival ship. Ill stick with RC

  • Well, it nevers hurts to try.

  • Im going with Oasis on this one. However, the dream looks awesome as well.

  • i just got off of the Carnival Valor yesterday, and i liked it way more than RC and Princess, idk, it was more fun to me.

  • I don't want to sound mean or anything, but I just got back fro Cozumel, Mexico on vacation. I was staying at El Cid which is a resort right in front of a cruise port and all of the Carnival ships looked old compared to Royal Caribbean. I don't know if its the design of the ship or the fact that they didn't seem as well maintained. (Rust issues) but all Carnival ships look like they're 20 years old to me. I think its the boxy way they design them. They need to get past that.

  • These 2 aren't even in the same class, the carnival dream is not even as large as the RCL Voyager class, never mind the Freedom class or the Oasis class.. if your idea of a cruise is a couple of water slides the you will love Carnival.. RCL constantly push the boundaries of what you think is possible on a cruise ship and make you wonder why no one has thought of it before.. amazing ships, staff and service, thats what counts.

  • That's is why they are vs. they are not suppose to be in the same class.

  • If your idea of a cruise ship is a floating mall/food court where everything is extra that by all means go RC. There is a reason they dont build ships the size as the Oasis. Worst of that it cannot fit in most ports. much of it is dead space hollowed out in the center with all those tiny rooms overlooking only other rooms. You are supposed to be at sea not looking at a wall of steel. RC design gimmicks into their behemouths. They do not engage the passengers in the fun that

  • wrong!! the reason they don't build ships the size of the oasis is "cost" and the fact that this is a new development, passenger ships have never been so large in any time in history so they are pushing the boundaries of what is possible..there was a time when the carnival destiny was considered the biggest they could go, now that is small... the oasis/freedom and voyager class are destinations in themselves offering lots more than any of the competition..

  • I agree with you the reason for them is cost is money they are miserable even to pay the personnel

  • there are more private balconies on this ship both inside and out than any ship to date, so how are you looking at a wall of steel instead of the sea. the ones on the inside look into a central park, there are people who would prefer that view to a sea view, no one else has done that.... and can i ask since you are a carnival fan, what makes carnival ships supposedly fun, i've been on a carnival cruise and the only fun i could see was in the carnival brochure where "fun" is printed everywhere

  • I had worked for both companies (Carnival and Royal caribbean) as a crew menber and i know very well the difference bettween both and for far royal is the best not only for ship design or for more things to do onboard if not for the treatment to the personnel on board they take care of you and of your welfare while carnival take care only of their money earnigs and for far royal is and oasis to be not only for passanger also for crew and carnival..............not more comments for respect to you

  • How long did you work on ships? I really want to always go on Royal beacause I've heard to many bad stories about Carnival.

  • I work onboard carnival fascination in 2002 till 2003 then celebrity cruises which belong to royal know then disney cruises princess and norwegian cruise lines (ncl) and for me the worst is carnival i dont know why they try to lie the people when they post in their ships the fun ships

because more fun that the carnival ships is to take a trip in the subway

  • I would have to try Carnival one day.

  • make sure you try it for just one day though, or better still don't try it at all.

  • is it really that bad?

  • Just got off the Adventure of the Seas on Aug. 2nd. I thought the ship flowed well and wasn't cramped. Like the rooms as much as any other. I'll let you know how the Oasis feels. I think any port who is interested in tourism will expand eventually to handle Oasis. I think St. Thomas, St. Maartin and the Bahama's are the first because they have the least to do. I would guess within a year all the major ports will be able to handle her.

  • WATEVER GOO CARNIVAL DREAM

  • DREAM ALL THE WAY!!

  • WHAT?? the dream doesnt use azi-pods?

pfff..oasis is much much better, by a long shot

  • It should all moder cruises have em since like the eighty's or before

  • azi-pods are a faulty costly design. Many ships such as the QM2 have had so many problems with that that they have sued the only manufacturer. Originally designed to have azipods, The Dream uses variable pitch props and thrusters.

  • Believe it or not the first ship to have azipods was a Carnival ship, now I don't know why they got rid of them for the Dream, maybe they were bad, but I have never heard bad things about them from Carnival or the past Royal Caribbean ships that had them.

  • They've just traded off maneuverability for efficiency for the Dream which probably gives an indication of the type of voyages they have intended for her. Conventional shaft-driven props are generally more efficient than azipods but give less options for maneuvering so my guess is the Dream will probably do more berth to berth type voyages and less dynamic positioning and will be geared more towards economy. I'd definitely prefer to work on Oasis, would take me longer to get bored of her ;-)

  • You work on ships??

  • yes, currently 2/O on passenger ships, going to tankers for a "break" next month.

  • what does 2/0 mean?that is cool

  • 2nd officer (or 2nd mate), it's cool at times, at other times it's absolute torture.

  • that is awesome. i want to work ona cruise ship bridge one day. what? idk. how were you able to join to work on the bridge?

  • Most people become deck officers (bridge / navigation officers are called "deck" officers or "Mates") by completing a cadetship which usually takes a minimum of 2.5 years, you need to apply to a shipping company or ship-manning agency and if accepted they'll put you through the sea time and courses required and pay you a fairly low wage, pretty good deal really.

  • when you sau cadetship, do you mean like navy or something???

  • No, forget the military, the merchant navy is completely separate and consists of all (or most of) the baulk carriers, tankers, cruise liners, passenger ferries etc etc. that carry commercial cargo. These are all owned and / or run by shipping companies like Maersk, APL, CGM CMA, BP, etc etc... and these shipping companies will often use agencies to provide officers and crew to run the ships.

  • so i would have to work on a cargo ship before i work on a cruise ship????

  • other than eat. The days in port were fun, and I remember the cruise as a lot of fun because i waited so long that I forced my self to remember it that way. Yes overall the cruise WAS fun, but while I was on i I could not help but think that it was all such a disappointment from all Carnival made it out to be. I imagine Royal Caribbean has it down better, plus we will be going with friends this December so it will be interesting. Thanks for reading my ranting speech!

  • Nothing against Carnival but I'm Loyal to Royal. We booked on Oasis last Sept. for a January cruise. Can't get enough info on the ship. Until January we are going to make do on Adventure of the seas next week. Woo Hoo, VACATION IS HERE!

  • Great comment!!! Im loyal to Royal always. Get out there!!

  • i wish i could take as many cruises as you

  • Nothing but hard work. When I first started out in life I couldn't imagine being able to afford more than one cruise in my life. Now we're able to cruise twice in a year. All due to hard work.

  • I think Oasis is much better. The thing that is interesting about Oasis is that the stern is very open, plus it has a park in the middle as well with a promenade.

  • Oasis is my number one, plus is going to be the biggest ship in the world!!

ooh and Carnival's is a nice ship too.

  • oasis

  • Nice pics thanks, i like both those ships, although i must admit , i saw a photo recently of Oasis on sea trials, and she did look a bit ugly stern on, but maybe she`ll look nicer when all the glass is exposed, and a fresh coat of paint.

Also i noticed Carnical Dream looks to have the conventional propellors , wheras the Oasis has the pods we are more used to seeing on newer ships. Does anyone know why they have changed back again?

  • Yeah, I agree. Oasis does look alittle wierd from the back view, but she still is beautiful, to me. I guess Carnival is going back to regular props. I didn't reconize that, good eye.

  • hm .. definitely the oasis!

  • There is no comparison....Royall Caribbean builds better ships.

  • I know right!
