I actually was responsible for putting footworking intouch with a professor at Yale to get your scene documented and put in the history books. When I first discovered your brilliant style on YouTube, the very first thing I did was send my upmost respect to you all. There is no denying, it is very similar to our scene here. It is very clear that footwork in general can go as far back as Africa and Native American Tribes, tap, jazz footwork, etc. Maybe Boodilla should have said, "Chicago's style of footwork is new to the rest of the world because it is finally being exposed via youtube and "Take Flight" DVD."

@cavaleer I think its very similar too, but what moves you guys to the music will be different to what makes a jazza move. Have to say though that a fusion dancer takes steps from funk, soul and disco - which are almost identical to footworking - take a look at IDJ, they are fusion through and through - fusion has its own style. When you see these guys dance you'll see how close the styles are, search IDJ & fusion jazz dance - you might like it. We like your style :o)

Uk jazz fusion dance has nothing and no relation to tap dance. If you see that, then good for you .... but you are wrong. Uk jazz fusion style grew from London kids just dancing to jazz music. They hadn't seen tap dancers, they didn't have MTV or vcr's to record and study and thieve steps from other dancers .... THEY CREATED THIS BACK WAY BEFORE YOU WE EVEN IN YOUR DADDYS NUT SACK

@jazzdance And I'm not saying those London kids sat around studying Fred Astaire or the Nicholas Brothers but when you watch the moves, esp. the floor technicians or whatever you called them, it's clear that it's an unintended Tap off-shoot. The main difference is that Be-Bop is faster than Big Band and Swing which were the formats for the birth of Tap. The similarity with Tap probably comes from the simple fact that Be-Bop is a Swing derivative and will be danced to a certain # of ways.

@cavaleer . Floor tech videos do not show jazz fusion original style. JAzz fusion style is very similar to footworking. Floor tech are being paid to dance this way to entertain. Floor tech on a dance floor is another story, they are raw and dangerous. They don't play.

They are so cool, they came to preform live at my school in ogden! at mound fort jr high.i got there atoghraphs and pictures taken with them.they said that they tour with the most famous celeb stars and dancers like chris brown,ciara,missy eliot and madona exc. they are so fast the way they move i cant believe it. you just gotta see them live and meet them like i did. King Charles said that he got inspired by Michael jackson and also the rest of the crew. ilove them!
