no... thats not how we do it, we take back our jobs from overseas by shutting down ALL imports from china and everywhere else their getting cheap labor to make a fast profit on the backs of stealing our jobs and shutting down our factorys...NOW that's how we do it !
John Boehner is nothing but a SNAKE OIL SALESMAN, a con man with a mission to screw the Americans and ass-kiss millionaires and corporations, least he can do after accepting enormous funds and favors from the rich.
Why not tax people making $10.8 million? When it is suggested that their tax rates be increased a modest 4.6% to the 39.6% rate they were paying in 2000. Republickans scream that this is "job-killing class warfare." Maybe the GOP's tas hardliners think we"re stupid. If we believe this, we are...

The idea that lower corporate & individual tax rates spur job growth is a 30-year REPUBLICAN LIE. Since the implementation of the REAGAN & BUSH TAX CUTS, America has LOST MORE jobs than at any other time in its history. Not collectng a FAIR SHARE of taxes from corporations& the wealthy has spawned a SERIOUS REVENUE PROBLEM which should be a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. On the other hand, a WORKING MIDDLE CLASS with money to spend DOES SPUR JOB GROWTH. AMERICA, REJECT THE REPUBLICAN LIE!
@poindexterwitkowsky I agree completely that lower individual tax rates especially for the rich doesn't promote growth. But our corporate tax rates are the highest in the world. THe whole corporate tax scheme doesn't make any sense to me, we are just double taxing as we tax the companies earnings and then tax the earnings of the owners (shareholders). I think we need a much lower corporate tax rate and much higher rates on capital gains and dividends, and the elimination of farm/oil subsidies
if normal people could lie like these american politicians, the world would be like a giant con except with everyone screwing everyone else over...it might just balance out. either that or break and institute a new system =D
I think most hard working americans, that have an average income, would agree on rising taxes if it helps their social security, better pension, and better economy of the country.
Personally, I think the flat tax is fine, just so long as you taper to zero as you approach a low-end constraint and eliminate all, and I mean ALL, tax exemptions on individuals and corporations. Adjust the rate to balance the budget and the middle class would paying somewhere in the neighborhood of just 5%. Combine that with pulling out of the Middle East and dropping oil subsidies and you could pay down the national debt in a hurry, finance schools and non-petroleum energy, etc.
What Boehner is saying is that we are going to hold the unemployed and poor hostage until you give us our tax breaks. Think about it. I guess the rich are too lazy and "unincentiveised" unless you put a pile of money on their doorstep in the form of tax breaks before they get off their duffs and use their "talent". I'm starting to think the reality is that we really don't need the rich anyway. Tax em.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Bush tax cuts are $4tril and they want to cut $4tril from the government now. It's the 2nd part of the heist ("the cover up") in action.

I'm for the GOP. Give millionaires back exactly what they paid - with reasonable interest and not one cent more when it comes to Social Security, Medicare, VA, any government assistance. I watched a lady that inherited $2 million during her last 6 months of cancer. Medicare paid all her medical bills and she drew a SS check off her husband. She never worked or paid into the system. She died with $2 million dollars in the bank and with America in more debt than any time in history. Reform now!
The problem with the flat tax is what you tax. Most of the wealth is in the top 10% but thats not taxed, its wealth stored in assets or long term investments. Reality is we tax economic transactions. Switch to the flat tax means we have to find a rate where we can collect enough money to run the government, thats probably at an incredibly high flat rate of 40-50%. Why because the top 10% which fund 50% of the government now will only fund 10-20% after, they hardly do any transactions a year.
liberals need to make the correct case for why progressive taxation is correct. do not try to make it about justice, for the gop believes the middle class and the poor are lazy. it's about responsibility. corporations make profits with access to public infrastructure and markets. law enforcement, property protection, roads, air traffic, all of it is at their disposal for their business to flourish, and that's fine; just pay your fair share instead of hiring and army of lawyers to get loopholes.
@tyrannosaurusinf14 The argument doesn't have to be made using the GOP's bizarre nonsense "rules". By letting those greedy lying idiots set the agenda and the parameters of the discussion the case can never be made. Who gives a fuck what those insane greedy sociopaths think about anyone.
For a start if all the money was taken from the wealthy it would totally wipe out the debt.
boehner, the snake, loves to use the same argument that every other gop politician makes about taxes: "even if you take every penny form the wealthy you won't pay off the debt." let me knock out that strawman right here: nobody is saying that taxing the rich alone is what we need to do. what everyone is saying is that draconian cuts that kill the poor and middle class and the elderly, who didn't cause the recession, are unnecessary if you also share the pain with the rich who profited through it
Washington has a revenue problem. If we're not funding essential programs to their fullest, you need more money. Saying Washington has a spending problem as such is a subtle way at thumbing his nose at the poor and working class. It's John Boehner's version of "Let them eat cake"
Also, as I said on the other video, the middle class creates jobs. Jobs are created out of demand, not from abundance of supply. If you're not selling lemonade, you don't make more.
the plutocracy's return on that 60 mil makes it all worthwhile.

@595o yea you right Mr. Agent working European =white supremacy, and those Spaniards are your brothers, they are Europeans like you , and the rest of European=white people on the planet., this will be the last comment to you Mr.white supremacist Agent.. there're too many non European=white people, suffering all over this planet at the hands of European=white people for me to waste any more time with you.
Over 50 million in one year. Let's put that into perspective - with that much money you could pay the salary of a public employee like a teacher, a policeman, or a firefighter, making 50K a year (most of whom make roughly 15k less) FOR 30 YEARS, and still have 5 million left over.
The government won't give Taxpaid welfare money to people who REALLY need it, like a single mother with a disabled child, or a parent that lost a secure job and can't otherwise provide for their family...But the govt. has NO problem giving that same money to BP, Target, Goldmann Sachs, etc.
@rLOVEutionFor2012 Well the President has a huge influence on the bills that get to the floor. The president also is the visible head of our government, which is why he is to blame for the state of the country...
@whatdoyouwantandwhy Yeah well, the Congress still ultimately made the proposal and passed the budget.
Never mind the fact that Bill Clinton actually did not support the budget to begin with. Had we had it Clinton's way, the budget never would've been balanced.
@rLOVEutionFor2012 Well I never really cared for Clinton, but people have their views...
To me he was an average president, nothing to woo about, but I will say that simply because other people praise him doesn't mean he wasn't a good president....
Isn't this kind of like "bread and circuses" backwards? I mean, WE certainly can't vote whatever we want into existence, but the big corporations sure can....
@fonkymaster You know, I haven't seen Friction in a while? I hate to say it, but I miss that ugly bugger of a troll.... On second thought, nevermind :)
Washington has a big spending problem: It's called WAR you stupid fucks! End the war in Iraq, end prohibition (cannabis at least), and let the neofascist Bush regime tax cuts expire. PROBLEM SOLVED.
Americans can barely add up numbers greater than 10, he just throws out a few fractions and subtraction. Most Americans will get lost in the math and just nod their drooling heads in agreement. Who cares if its a outright lie, it's not like they are going to "check" and those which do wouldn't have voted Republican anyways. Americans = stupid, simple as that, they will get fleeced again and again until there is nothing left.
Umm... Boehner says: 2000 = 4.5% unemployment; 2011 = 9-10% unemployment. The Bush tax cuts of the 2000's created 8 million jobs, & the recession lost 5 million jobs. How do those numbers even close to add up? So BEFORE the recession, the US GAINED 8 million jobs, and LOST about 5% of all jobs - 3 million... which is in the tens of millions. That's a success?
Down with civil rights for black, niggers are lazy!
.
Far-right American logic in 2000s:
Down with health care for poor, they are poor because they are lazy!
.
Hey, let's give taxpayer money to oil companies for no reason whatsoever, it's not like their executives take out salaries which could feed thousands of poor people.
Be fair though, Obama is equally beholden to Wall St. Republicans AND Democrats are run by their corporate bosses. If that weren't the case the Bush tax cuts would've expired under a Democratic president and Senate.... but OF COOOUUURSE they did not
GOP is a broken record with their propaganda repeating and repeating. It's called propaganda for a reason, many millions are getting brainwashed and somehow are deciding for 80% of us. Stop letting the minority run things, these POS congress need to smacked into line.
Roll back the Bush tax cuts for the rich, cut subsidies for big oil, big agribusinesses and ethanol. That would take care of a big chunk of the deficit.
But these oily bastards have no problem with strip mining national revenue by giving nice fat tax breaks to the ultra wealthy because their "small businesses" (huge corporations) "create jobs" (IE: sweatshop labor in China India Indonesia Vietnam The Philippines and Malaysia).
The trickle down economic model has been a dismal failure for the last thirty years and needs to be excised like the cancer that it is and replaced with a balanced economic model that works
What do you care Chunk, you got your SHILL MSM jobby job now. IF the other side of the 2 party lie had given a job, you would be sucking CON d*ck right now.
Having tax dollars go toward oil subsidies is the same as paying higher prices. These assholes are laughing at us. There have been whistleblowers who confirm that that's literally true.
Umm . . . Boner? If you hate government so much . . . . why are you IN IT?! Maybe it's just me, but I don't think ANY corporation would hire you if you said @ the interview, "well sir, I think you're too big and you're the problem in America. So I want to shrink your company to a size that I could drown in a bathtub." But "big bad gubmint" knows how you feel about it and yet you STILL got a job. I'll say on behalf of government, Boner . . . you're welcome.
"We could tax all the money from the wealthy and guess what? It wouldn't make a dent..." That is a textbook case of a Whopper - a lie so big you can't even get your head around it. The top 1% hold 80% of the money.
There's a special circle in Hell prepared for people like Rep Boehner.
Increasing taxes on the rich is not the only option. Decreasing foreign aid, ending these illegal wars, reduce military fundings, bring troops home, etc. Yep, there are plenty options.
I wish Al Gore won. All our debt would be paid off by now, possibly no wars since he would have heeded the security memo, investment in research and education... We gone off the deep end.
He is right about some things... the rich in the US do create jobs to some extent... what he doesn't mention is that those jobs are OUTSIDE the US, and that's competition and capitalism for you. They save money by having stuff made in China or other countries where life and labour is cheap and safety standards are low to non-existant. Not to mention Americans ask for strange things like minimum wage and health benifits or pension payments from jobs.
cenk stop acting like both parties are not the same its all a joke you know it so stop bickering back and forth and elect ppl that really will change not just platform on it the libs and cons are all the same
I love the "if you tax the rich %100 it won't solve the problem" - um.. maybe not in 1 tax year. so what ONE thing will solve the whole debt issue? hmmmm? I hope nobody falls for the lame brained mangling of a "reason".
he just rolls through his talking points, which if you questioned just one layer deeper would fall apart. oi...
I can't conceive having over a million dollars (because I've never had it, probably never will), BUT I imagine that I could live pretty comfortably on it for a long time. Hell, I made do on $11k a year, which is terrible.
So we can't take a little more from people who make ludicrous amounts because they'll be butthurt about it and not "create jobs"? Something they're not doing anyway?
@kadsl123 Are you kidding me? If you tax the rich they will not longer be able to afford 19 inch wheels on their Jags. Well, they might will be able to, but it will hurt them.
These guys are creating jobs at Ingolstadt where they make Audis and also at the Prada shop in Milan.
You don't want these people to loose their jobs. Do you?
How do you expect the rich to survive on only $250,000 per year??? Their wives may have to cut down to only 5 Yoga classes per week.
These GOP goof-balls keep repeating that we shouldn't increase taxes on the rich because we'll just be giving money to the Government to spend. But what is never said is that the money we need to raise isn't for the Government to spend now... it's for money the Government has already spent. (i.e., the war in Afghanistan, war in Iraq and the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan)
Boehner came to Washington 20 years ago to make government smaller. During that time he was part of the biggest spending government ever in the Bush republicans. Guess you could say he failed miserably!!
@mnkittel Hmmm the only way I can come back is by redefining heat attack...
A republican heart attack is where the shrunken blackened little tumor that they called a heart teams up with the conscience, a vestigial personality trait they discarded to enter the republicunt death cult, to bring karmic justice to the evil pricks
Cenk, you should have included the figure donated to the Democrats from the financial industry too. For all we know it could be more! Though I doubt it somehow...
I also love how if you tax a company making 9 billion in profits this quarter, they will suddenly have to cut thousands of jobs... REALLY??? who buys that shit??? they could take a fraction of that profit and cover %110 of all those jobs they would supposedly cut.
Boehne says we can't raise taxes on the rich because they are the ones who create jobs. That's bull. It's off the table for him because they are the ones the republicans get all their money from and the hell with the middle class. Boehner will lose this fight.
@AsifIcarebear3 Fact is increasing or decreasing the taxes in the amounts proposed would not affect job creation or loss. It frankly is not a factor. Clinton was a sounder gov. that built confidence With the taxes going back to what they were under Clinton you have the money to pay off your bills. I don't know how you pay your bills off but republicans don't seem to want to do it fairly if at all.Off the hook are the rich and the oil companies because that who is they represent no other reason
@AmericanResponses Don't get me wrong, I think it's silly to lower the taxes when you have problems with paying off the debt, I was just wondering what was being done back then that cannot be done now. I can't see how the government can do all that much to make companies create jobs.
@AsifIcarebear3 Increasing tax rates will encourage companies to create jobs. Investments are generally write-offs. Lower taxes encourage people and companies to keep the money, and not spend it on investments.
If you're taxed at 20%, and you keep it, you keep 80%
If you're taxed at 40% and you keep it you keep 60%.
Investments in companies and even labor work exactly the opposite way. For every dollar you invest, and writeoff, you're SAVING that tax rate.
Why do they pronounce Boehner as Bainer
when it looks a lot more like Boner.
Another not so sly distortion of the facts.

Over 50 million in one year. Let's put that into perspective - with that much money you could pay the salary of a public employee like a teacher, a policeman, or a firefighter, making 50K a year (most of whom make roughly 15k less) FOR 30 YEARS, and still have 5 million left over.

Why do Democrats keep saying Clinton balanced the budget when it's Congress that's in charge of the budget. LOL
rLOVEutionFor2012 9 months ago
@rLOVEutionFor2012 Well the President has a huge influence on the bills that get to the floor. The president also is the visible head of our government, which is why he is to blame for the state of the country...
whatdoyouwantandwhy 9 months ago
@whatdoyouwantandwhy Yeah well, the Congress still ultimately made the proposal and passed the budget.
Never mind the fact that Bill Clinton actually did not support the budget to begin with. Had we had it Clinton's way, the budget never would've been balanced.
rLOVEutionFor2012 9 months ago
@rLOVEutionFor2012 That may be true, but that doesn't imply that he didn't have an impact on the actual budget...

To me he was an average president, nothing to woo about, but I will say that simply because other people praise him doesn't mean he wasn't a good president....

He is right about some things... the rich in the US do create jobs to some extent... what he doesn't mention is that those jobs are OUTSIDE the US, and that's competition and capitalism for you. They save money by having stuff made in China or other countries where life and labour is cheap and safety standards are low to non-existant. Not to mention Americans ask for strange things like minimum wage and health benifits or pension payments from jobs.

@AsifIcarebear3 Reducing revenue increases debt
dffykvn 9 months ago
@AsifIcarebear3 Fact is increasing or decreasing the taxes in the amounts proposed would not affect job creation or loss. It frankly is not a factor. Clinton was a sounder gov. that built confidence With the taxes going back to what they were under Clinton you have the money to pay off your bills. I don't know how you pay your bills off but republicans don't seem to want to do it fairly if at all.Off the hook are the rich and the oil companies because that who is they represent no other reason
AmericanResponses 9 months ago
@AmericanResponses Don't get me wrong, I think it's silly to lower the taxes when you have problems with paying off the debt, I was just wondering what was being done back then that cannot be done now. I can't see how the government can do all that much to make companies create jobs.
AsifIcarebear3 9 months ago
@AsifIcarebear3 Increasing tax rates will encourage companies to create jobs. Investments are generally write-offs. Lower taxes encourage people and companies to keep the money, and not spend it on investments.
If you're taxed at 20%, and you keep it, you keep 80%
If you're taxed at 40% and you keep it you keep 60%.
Investments in companies and even labor work exactly the opposite way. For every dollar you invest, and writeoff, you're SAVING that tax rate.
This is just common sense people!
