  • When I was younger, I thought indie was slang for Indian music. Now I realise I'm not too far off. I love everything about this video!

  • wow only a 0.5% dislike! thats awesome!

  • Math is the international language?? bull... it's MUSIC!

  • It's wonderful to see them all jamming.

  • I hope I'm not wrong: Translation in short:

chores: Brother, why are you taking so long, oh god... it's too urgent

    a) It is a sarcastic mocking of the atrocities in te society where restaurants of greed, Anger, lust and hatred are opened everywhere. He says "People, eat, drink or do wht ever you want but in te end you've gotto make the payment for all yur sins".

    b) I am making riches in life but in te end nothing is permanent, we hve to die someday, so dedicate your life for joy and love.

  • The coming together of amazing backgrounds, beautifully melded. Look how the crowd engages.

  • this is fucking incredible

  • My headphones simply do not go loud enough. And in previous comments, wrestling the devil certainly does not have a language barrier. I say this in the context of a French-Canadian, Russian. In all languages and cultures, music like this lifts the spirit.

  • Trippindifferoussss!!!!!

  • @skrunchbunny1 Don't know what this means ...but yes ...I totally agree!!!

  • So awesome!

  • goose pimples

  • marcus mumford in his element

  • When it comes to wrestling the devil...language is not a barrier! Love it...makes me smile!!

  • 4:50 MARCUS REGRETS NOTHING

  • this song just makes everything awesome

  • Muito Giro. Gostei da forma como géneros e culturas tão diferentes criam uma música tão divertida.

  • o actually really liked the clash of both cultures combining their forces and creating a really good song. the dual languages really spices it up as well.

not one person hates it and you can tell. the crowd goes wild

  • Never enjoyed listening to a song as much as this, love how two culture could be so seamlessly integrated with such incredulity!

  • the guy with the bells is such a third wheel

  • I want to buy this recording and download it to my brain! And then just listen... I think people would judge me for the bouncing and beaming smile.

  • I love how much Marcus loves music.

  • Good music is universal. Case in point. Point proven.

  • LOL this is so far out there that it is right up my alley! Love it!

  • Two musical cultures mixed together, so beautiful and awesome!

  • this clearly needs more cowbell

  • @guilleg4 Where's that saying come from?

  • You know they're good when you're sat at your computer clapping along to them

  • Love the whole album they made, but this song is on repeat <3

  • BRAAVO!!!!

  • Marcus Mumford is Han Solo, didn't you know that? So sigh no more!

  • smul!!!!

  • Fusion at its best salute! Who would actually believe that those guys lost a music talent show

  • I wish it would never end...

  • this is so incredibly good. oh my god.

  • I'd usually say people are entitled to their own opinion, but not in this case, four idiots!

  • At 4:50, it is physically impossible not to smile / want to have Marcus Mumford's little folky babies :) <3

  • Even Laura smiled. Speaks for itself

  • Oh wow! Loving life again!

  • Life stops. Music takes over. Love it!

  • Beautiful!! It'd be muchly appreciated if you guys would tell me what you think of my bands version, thank you!

  • 4:52 I feel the same way, Marcus.

  • Marcus looks so happy :)

  • OMG! This is (a bit) like George Harrison's '74 US Tour (or what he wanted to do: Bring Indian music and spirituality to a Western audience). I wish he could have been around for this.

  • @spinalcrackerbox I'm sure Harrison would have loved it, although, he was more into classical Indian music. This is Rajasthani folk music, which came from farming communities in the deserts - hence the cowbells and strange instruments. I think that's why they gell so well with Mumford and sons and Laura Marling, as folk music is pared down and organic.

  • This is ridiculously flawless.

  • more views, more views, more views! :D

  • goosebumps much..... :D

  • I love this.

  • This video just makes me outrageously happy

  • grew up with indian folk music and never truly appreciated until this collaboration. musicians are so versatile.

  • I'm not one for Indian music, but this was actually pretty cool. Impressed like a waffle...

  • <3

  • Wowzers!!

  • Mumford is just lovin life the whole time.

  • THIS IS AWESOME

  • This is one of the reasons I love Mumford and Sons so much. Not only is their music fantastic, but they've introduced me to other great bands and artists like Laura Marling and OCMS. I had almost lost hope in music for a while there.

  • The lead singer of Mumfords is perpetually dressed like Han Solo

  • @damendred1 Yes. The force is strong with this one.

SO MUCH LOVE.

  • @bethanygraceish Oh man SAME HERE pal. Don't you worry people give me all the same glares... hahah they just don't know how to rock out Mumford&Sons, Laura Marling and Dharohar Peeps style. And if ever you need a banjo player to complete the musical recreation of this I am your gal : )

  • @bethanygraceish awesome, and fully agreed! Simply amazing

  • I believe the word 'eargasm' is appropriate here.

  • cheers me up every time. tonic for the soul

  • sounds great!

  • That's awsome

  • वाह ! मज़ा आ गया ! पूरब और पश्चिम का विलय, शानदार !

  • one of the best finds i've come across in a while

  • music is truly universal

  • They all look so happy :)

  • Love it!

  • You broke Marcus' heart. therefore I don't like you.

    That is all =]

  • @musiclovinggurl123 If you are talking about Laura Marling, the truth is that Marcus cheated on her, so I would presume that it was Laura who recieved the broken heart. Dont get me wrong, I love mumford and sons and laura, but I am afraid you are wrong.

  • I dont know how but it just works. Amazing collaboration.

  • great post!! Thank you

  • this looks like so much fun! like you could spend the night away playing and dancing to music!

  • You can feel the passion.

I think laura should have sang thr bit "eye to eye, nose to nose..." at the end because it is her song after all

  • a truimph

  • Well i was enjoying this cover untill it stopped being english, how am i meant to singalong to that :P i can barely speak 1 or 2 words of french

  • @wignog I hate to break it to you, but that's not even French. Gutted.

  • @wignog So very far from being french, bro.

  • Amaaaaaaazing!!!! Joy!!! :-)

  • they're so indie-an

  • I watched this through with a massive smile on my face! Absolutely beautiful!

  • That was the greatest thing ever!

  • Totally awesome!

Try and find someone here who is not having a good time!!!

    Music as it should be!

  • 4:57 WHAT A FUCKING LEGEND!! haha but seriously, this is the greatest display of raw music I've heard :)

  • 2 people don't have Indians yelling at them in song.

  • this first man to sing is tooooo cute, love him

  • That just made me wanna dance and smile and thank for all creation =]

  • Anyone knows where I can find the translation to the non-english part of this song? (Thumbs up if you wanna know as well. We get this on top, someone is bound to answer.)

  • @HerrWiegerinck I don't understand clearly the first half of the song since it's in 80% regional languages (sorry I do not know the name of the specific Indian language they are singing in) but I can attempt to translate from 3:12 since the lyrics mainly consists of Hindi and is absolutely hilarious & yet fun to listen to aha.

  • @HerrWiegerinck It is sung in one of the local dialects of Rajasthan (a distant cousin of Hindi). I cannot understand most of it a. because it is a remote dialect and b. it is quite fast. I can translate some bits of it...specially towards the end of the video:

Oh brother, how long will you take to remember the lord? Chant his name urgently ("urgent" can be heard clearly)

New "restaurants" serving lust out there, do take your time to chant HIS name

something more about an "accident" etc

  • @HerrWiegerinck Alright.. I’ve tried real hard to understand the first bits but like abhishekghate said it’s just too fast and in a regional dialect which makes it even more difficult. But I can translate 4:25 onward

This is mine, that is also mine, the coffers are being filled (‘development’ he uses)

You never know when a calamity (accident) might befall you

Coming, going, entries, exits, nothing in life is permanent

Gradually, in your time, you must get to know life though and through (100%)

  • The thing i like the most is that everyone just looks sooo happy because they are doing what they love, and that love is what produces this beautiful music.

I'd really like to see them live

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa epic!

  • Eclectic sounds...

  • @busterbensonbaker can u do that?! woah

  • Beautiful!

  • This is so awesome! It's ridiculous :O :D :D

  • I love the pure joy running through Marcus in this video. Chuffing marvellous!

  • Aaaaah this is too good!

  • This is so awesome it must be like what Mr. T's dreams are made of.

  • Musical orgasm

  • O! M! G! A world of sound!

  • It's funny how the different sounds compliment each other so well, they sound they like they were meant to be together.

  • i've been a little leery of marling-joni mitchell comparisons in the past but on the basis of this and the new album, work where she shows remarkable self-assuredness,i'm no longer uncomfortable in comparing the respective talents of two remarkable artists and indeed taking laura's tender age into account, she has at least the potential to be deemed the superior talent when all is said and wrote.my regret is that she will be writing great songs when i am no longer alive to hear them.

  • Such an exciting colorful performance all round - the dynamics marred by appalling camera/editing work.

  • @yangzone Haha this made me genuinely laugh out loud. LOL
