@culdain From what I gather, he has exactly the same stuff as one of the characters in the game, and he is standing on the same spot as that character, being completely still. The blue guys are looking for him, but when they see him they think he's just a NPC.

shiva will appear if you join the forest hunter covenent but since players that are not part of it they are going to get invaded when they enter the forest.so shiva wont be in there world that the FHC guys invaded.

@produner1 Some things wrong with this statement. A.) If you join the FHC and attack say, Shiva in the swamps and don't kill him, Shiva and his ninja will spawn in the spot he was impersonating. B) Regardless of the Shiva being there or not argument, he placed several items directly in front of the "NPC" and it was still there acting like normal. If Shiva were to actually be in that spot, he would be in a Kill on Sight state to the host of the world. Really stupid players.

I don't get how this would work. If shiva is in their world, then they would have to be part of the forest covenant too, and if they are in the forest covenant, how are they being invaded? Unless thats a darkmoon member invading, then i'm wrong.

@megamanbluemoon You can join the covenant, wait until Shiva loads, then betray the covenant, and the game will the immediately allow invasions from the Forest covenant.

The main point is: You can't kill anyone in the forest covenant or you will be kicked out. The invaders aren't even considering the possibility that they should be attacking because they have this "don't hurt Shiva" mentality.

@eduse1256 I don't think Shiva and his ninja count, because Forest Invaders can't attack/hurt forest covenant people in the world they're invading, but can still see them. So I think it would be normal for them to actually see Shiva.

@Blad0x Whats happening is that when you join the forest covenant (Which the invaders are part of), a NPC named "Shiva of the east" spawns in that EXACT spot he is standing on.

What he is doing is he is wearing the EXACT same armor set (Probably from killing Shiva himself) and standing in the EXACT same spot as him, and he is acting precisely like Shiva. The invaders think he is Shiva, a perfectly normal NPC ally.

I have been doing this tactic since I saw this video a few days ago. I'm a faith build. I wait until they get near and stop, I rush up to them and try to back stab then follow up with a wog. Takes care of them pretty quickly. I have waited half an hour for two phantoms to finally figure me out and still ended up killing one of them lol. I have recieved numerous "you tricky bastard!" messages from this method :D

I've been doing this all day; it's hilarious. Even with the NPCs dead, people still run right past me. Though if given the opening, usually I backstab them. Or if there's two people, I TWoP, run away, and hide underneath the stairs and Chameleon into a tree and watch them run right past me again. XD

After that I run back to the first area of the forest, Chameleon again, and wait until the invaders warp home or kill themselves. Nothing better than re-enacting the MGS3 fight with The End.

There is an NPC named "Shiva of the East" with the exact same armor set and weapons

When you join the covenant, like the people looking for him, he spawns right there in the world, and if you kill him the covenant is broken, since he defends it. So in their world the same NPC with the same armor is sitting in the same spot never moving.

two flaws from this method:

- As the host must not be in forest covenant in order to get invaded, there is no way shiva will appear in there

- shiva is a NPC, so he will be seen as a fading blue phantom by the invader

the invader was fucking stupid not realizing these two flaws

@anjingkucingmati Actually, for the first point, if you break the covenant, Shiva will be there waiting to attack you with his ninja. He was for me.

@cobaph indeed this is true. If you attack and lose to Shiva in blight town (freaking fog ninja... I even went after it first...) he will go back up to the forest and wait for you there. You can then kill him and his ninja (love second chances) for his armor and the ninja's ring. You can even then talk to Oswald guy and absolve or something, sin, and talk to alvina and re-join forest hunters again.

He is being invaded by other players who want to kill him but they aren't recognising the player instead just thinking he is the NPC.

He isn't the one invading. The blue phantoms are forest covenant members invading his game, the random barbarian who attacks him is an NPC forest hunter who is always there.

The guy recording disguised himself as Shiva of The East, an NPC that only appears when you are a member of the forest covenant. However if he was a member of the covenant they wouldn't have been able to invade them.

I find it really funny that they didn't click until he started moving even after he dropped items, stones and set his fucking sword on fire. Apparently this is normal behaviour for Shiva.
