yes because blanket denial of paranormal activity really helps out the people that are going through hauntings. From a practical point paranormal research is as much about disproving a haunting as much as it is about proving a haunting.
@absinthiumminded Its not blanket denial, its just pointing out the bleeding obvious. I also dismiss the use of feathers to detect invisible midgets flying on the moon, or the use of 1980's casio watches as a means to detect the Loch ness Monster as it flies past my bedroom smoking a cigar and singing the tune to Blockbusters. The point is that all these ridiculous things have the same amount of actual tangible proof, that being nothing.
The reason paranormal researchers use things like emf meters and temp gauges is if you look at anything scientificaly you are looking for changes in the environment that could be used the prove the presance of a spirit or ghost, the problem is we don't know what phisyical properties a spirit has so we use as meny enfironmental measurering defices as you can to look for unexplained changes. To put it into context,if a human was invisable we would know to look for carbon dioxide and heat increases.
@absinthiumminded Sorry you are wrong, you might as well use a banana to measure such things as it is as much use evidentially! Paranormal researchers are wasting their time
I'm curious about the issues presented in the video.
Does anyone use technology in terms of qualifying it to be effective in the pursuit of paranormal activity?
I ask because, although we at the CPRS use technology, we do not necessarily qualify such usage as science, but we do intend on collecting enough data to either disqualify various types of technology or examine why they are effective.
Also, are people aware of the "theories" applied to most types of technology used in P.A.?
And I like to call myself a ballerina and dance around in a tutu but that doesn't stop mall security from dragging me out of Sears ladies underwear department as they beat me with night sticks and demand I tell them where Osama bin Ladin is hiding.
Similarly so since no one on this Team GPS are actually scientists they shouldn't call themselves scientists. But please do feel free to wear tutus and visit you local mall.
