to convert your bike what exatly did you do? i am considering getting a supermoto but dont want to deal with constant repairs like the full tilt ktm/aprillia are to deal with...thanks in advance
My XR was made street legal before I purchased it. Baja Designs makes the kit with the lights, turn signals, etc to make it street legal. You'll have to check with the laws in your state to make sure that you can legalize yours. All I had to do was purchase the supermoto rims and tires and install them.
Cool vid, it just goes to show that you dont need 150+ horsepower to dominate a track day!!!! what gearing do you use? i use 14 front and 38 rear sprockets :)
I run 15/42 in motard trim and 15/45 when I put the dirt wheels back on. Since Streets is such a tight and bumpy track it really lends itself to motard domination. If I were next door at Willow Springs I'd run my 750 instead.
Yeh it looks like a tight track! great weather too!! my local track is Knockhill in Fife on the wet East coast of Scotland which is short, the sports bikes get me on the 2 straights but i take it back on the braking and twisty bits! i giggle to myself when i pass a dude on an R1 etc with the old XR :) i run pirelli SuperCorsas for track and Maxxis Goldspeeds for road ... have watched your other vids, i like the WRX one, is cool ... what camers do you use on the XR?? paul
My personal camera is the original VHoldR which records at 640x480. The video with the WRX was shot with my friend's GoPro Hero camera. I have ordered the new VHoldR 1080p which I expect to arrive later this week, so the quality of the video should be much improved in the future.
The engine noise of XR650R is not a "noise" but is a MUSIC....a celestial, beautyfull music
Best regards, happy weehlie for you and a lot of roads

@rudypiralla1966 I dubbed in the music because the camera picks up wind noise more than engine noise.
