How about this? Nobody vote Liberal or Conservative because they are BOTH corrupt. Time to give the New Democrats a turn because it's not working with Liberals OR Conservatives...
@akropiss The Liberals were the original attackers with respect to ads, they were much more personal than harper was against dion and iggy, they started it all
Attack ad? More like an infomercial showing how corrupt the liberals really are. Still, the ad didn't even scratch the surface of how dirty the liberals really are.
Can we all agree that everyone in Parliament sucks? Not just the Conservatives, not just the Liberals, but fucking EVERYONE? They don't care about us at all; all they've done for the past seven years is attack each other. It's a waste of our time and our money, and it's causing us to lose whatever place on the world stage we have left.
@mikefastener all he did was move to the U.S to get an education and a job at Harvard. Many Canadians do it every year and he came back, his reasons are his own and shouldn't be part of the electorial process. I'm not voting for him. I'm a conservative, but seriously, attacking the guy's character rather than his policies is something I'm having a problem with since the election campaigns started, I might pull my support for Harper who answered the contempt with "minor political manovering".
@frenchie21 Actually, I voted liberal; however, I cannot vote for someone who does not know me. I want someone who stuck with the country when we needed them. Someone who knows what my country went through. (Not reading it in some newspaper.)
I guess looking at the overall situation, I vote for loyalty and…. you? Maybe Iffy has a little American phrase (after all, Iffy is an American) to calm you.
@mikefastener I might've actually had a bit of respect for you, if you didn't just talk down to me. Cut out the condescending crap, and don't presume to know anything about me and what calms me. Also, nowhere in your entirety of an answer did you even remotely answer my concern over Harper, just sidestepped it in order to attack someone. I agree with you that Ignatieff doesn't rouse Canadian pride for people, especially not for me, when I've lived here my whole life.
@frenchie21 Sadly, some people (like you) seem to care more about the lie-beral party than Canada.
Here is a simple test: If the Conservatives under Mr. Harper had done the same thing as the lie-berals (found guilty by an independent judge into corruption) I would not vote for them.
Will you agree to the same statement for the lie-berals?
(Next answer should be interesting, folks. Certainly a very conclusive test.)
@theTOOLshed1 I often find that lie-beral supporters get angry at the deliverer of message! Why not get angry at the party that let you down? Corruption, lies, thief, deceit (need I go on?)
Oh well, if I caused you to look in a mirror, my job is done.
Good luck in your journey.
BTW....did you answer my simple test? Certainly for lie-berals an.....inconvenient truth! lolol
@mikefastener People who don't get brainwashed by this ad... Common, think by yourself, you shouldn't let yourself get influenced by these kind of dishonnest and hypocrite ads... Look, take the NDP ad made against Conservatives... Even though they say what I already think (besides that the country will be absolutely saved if we vote NDP), I think that ad isn't fair and true. Ads (especially these ones) work for those who can't think by themselves, and you're telling you're one of them.
@mikefastener First, calling him a ''taliban'' is absolutly reprehensible. You don't compare someone to somebody or groups that are considered as criminals, slayers, terrorists, dictarors, etc.
Second, I just said that we would NOT be saved from all problems if we voted for NDP, but still, NDP is a million time better than the Conservatives.
@Colariboo Sorry, but you are wrong! Calling him Taliban Jack simply reflects his lack of respect for our Canadian troops. Look up the reference if you wish!
Having the NDP in government is a recipe for disaster--look at Ontario under Bob Rae.
@mikefastener Again, you are making things up, you are really really wrong if you think all Canadians think he is the best leader. Seriously, stop bringing these kind of ''facts'', they are based on nothing but your vision of the things. And, of course, it's not a truth, so please, have real arguments.
@Colariboo Again caught, my friend. Do you agree that poll after poll sees Mr. Harper as the best leader for the country? (Second time you are stuck in answering the affirmative!)
@mikefastener No I don't, because he isn't considered the best leader in every poll like you tend to say. If it would've been true, I would've seen these polls, but I never saw such so affirmative polls.
And, why do you keep saying things like ''Again caught'', ''Second time you are stuck in answering the affirmative'' because no, I have never been ''caught'' like you say, and I was never forced to agree with you. I told you, you are imaginating a lot of things, they're only in your head...
@mikefastener I looked at you profile, just to see a little bit who am I talking to, and, ooff, people don't like you much. And I hope you are not really 54. If you are 12, I can at least understand that you like to get attention by saying some stupidities, like the low-average 12 years old persons. But, being like this at 54 would be a shame, because your thoughts are not even worth a stupid 12 years old. I have only one advice for you : shut it, you are just prooving you are dumb as hell.
@Colariboo A lot of people don't like the truth. They get angry and attack the messenger! (Why does that always seem the case for the left-wingers--maybe you have some insight!)
Poor Caribou....I have asked you many times to justify your attacks on our great PM Mr. Harper (as determined by the international community) yet you never answer--just your profanity and insults.
You may grow up, one day. I will be pleased to debate you when that happens.
@mikefastener Stand up for a piece of crap like Harper, yes...
I'm not saying I like the others, I'm not a fan of any party in particular, I'm just saying that Harper is by far the worst politician (and worst Prime-minister) Canada has known so far. The country may be running good enough, but Harper has started and is killing democracy. The Prime-minister (has a post, not Harper) already had a ridiculous amount of power on legislative and judiciary power, Harper has taken it a step further.
@Colariboo Just to educate you...Mr. Harper is in a minority situation--to say he has take a ridiculous amount of power, frankly shows your ignorance of the Canadian parliamentary system.
@mikefastener If you think he couldn't have taken more power because he is in a minority situation, you don't understand our system. Our system works when everyone respects some unwritten rules, but Harper overpassed some. For example, the Lords, who now form a conservative majority, and who aren't elected, took down a projet the House of Commons had accepted, which is undemocratic. Even if it's permitted by the Constitution, it isn't accepted since a long time, so it's not legitimite.
@Colariboo Respectfully, I must disagree. You will find that the liberals played many more games than Mr. Harper would ever contemplate (the liberal corruption/sponsorship scandal for example.) The liberals have even been playing games in the Canadian Senate since Mr. Harper's government came in. I don't believe anyone should lecture Mr. Harper until they lecture the liberals!
@mikefastener The Liberals were lectured, their reputation went down and they lost the elections in 2006. And, even if the Liberals hadn't been lectured, it wouldn't be a reason to not punish Harper for his behavior.
Oh and, yes the Liberals had the majority in Senate, but they were also majoritary in the House of Commons. The real problem is that Harper, who criticised the existence of the Senate, is now using it for his own interests. That is really hypocritical.
@Colariboo Your are wrong! After Taliban Jack's and Iggy's little coalition (where Separatist Senators were a definite possibility) all Canadians are glad Mr. Harper was able to stop that little scheme by appointing Senators in case the NDP/Bloc/Liberals overturned the voters' wishes in the previous election.
@mikefastener You have nothing but your opinion to support that, and again, no, not all Canadians are glad about that, you are making some things up and that is not honest.
@Colariboo Okay, my friend....based on the series of polls conducted at the time...do you agree that the "majority" of Canadian were happy of Mr. Harper's actions to stop this Separatist-Socialist Coalition?
(Please, don't damage your credibility--we both know the answer.)
@mikefastener I didn't say the majority is happy. You forget about those who don't have an opinion. A lot of the unhappy people, if not most, based their view of the coalition on the ''fact'' that ''the Conservatives, as a party, are those who have the most votes, so they should lead the country ; a coalition isn't legitimate''. This is distressing because, no, they shouldn't ''lead'' the country, there's what you call the ministerial responsability and yes, a coalition is legitimate.
Imagine that - Conservatives attacking one of their best friends! These guys have no shame. If it wasn't for Paul Martin, Stephen Harper wouldn't have a clue how to be Prime President and CIO of Maple Leaf Company Ltd. Martin has been his greatest influence next to George W. Bush.
great ad?.... its pretty stupid to listen to propaganda telling to not vote for the opposition be cause THEY are corrupt... and have you under the assumption that PC isnt corrupt... seriously??? left or right, they are equally corrupt, as are all forms of government... its not 1826 anymore... you people dont need politcians to tell us that the earth isnt round anymore... think outside of the 2 paty dictatorship
fortunately i dont subscribe to the idea of a 2 party system... theyre both equally corrupt and the idea of a 2 parties fighting against each other is a joke... its a 2 party dictatorship my friend... ur wasting your life believing in politicians..
@H3Li0TR0PE Unfortunately, Trope, I cannot let you put words into my mouth! I don't subscribe to the 2 party system either! I also do not believe both mainstream parties (Conservatives and Liberals) are equally corrupt...no one knows how to do it like a liberal! Remember, no corruption inquiries in 4 years of Mr. Harper's leadership--that is indeed something to celebrate!
@mikefastener The fascinating thing under Harper's reign (let's face it, he's not a Prime-minister, he's a freaking emperor!) is that he's doing even worse shits than Liberals, but openly, and no one gets ashamed! You know, true assholes like Harper will always exist. So we can't just wait until this nightmare is over, we have to kick him out of his Prime-minister post. And if you think Harper is doing everything by the rules, well, happen to not understand the Canadian political system.
@mikefastener You are right, a lot of people proved that the prefer to keep the every old things and problems running than to try to go ahead, to evolve, to find a happy medium.
I think Jack Layton has better ideas than Stephen Harper but, mostly, that he isn't as reactionary and uncarring as Harper.
@mikefastener And they are still dying... The Conservatives (and, nobody really) aren't taking care of them neither. Even worse, they are making the gap between richs and poors even bigger.
@mikefastener We don't need the hypothetical Jack Layton's hypocrisy, as well as we don't need anyone's hypocrisy. This is a ridiculous argument because you try to use the fact that I agree to something everyone is agreeing to (that hypocrisy isn't a good thing) to make me think Layton isn't a good person. I'm sorry, but hypocrisy has nothing to do with your political allegiance, and, in my opinion, Harper is a million time more hypocrite than Layton and a lot more than anyone else.
@Colariboo You are indeed wrong again! Jack's hypocrisy is shameful. Mr. Harper has never stayed in publicly subsidized housing (tell me the link if your disagree). Also, Mr. Harper has never gone to a private clinic but uses our public health care system (do I need to tell you about Jack?).
Oh well, luckily the NDP will never get into power unless they form another Separatist-Socialist Coalition with Iggy and the Bloc.
@mikefastener Why would I agree? You are making things up! And why do you keep to give me such unprooved and questionable hypothesis? And do I have to remind you that the public health care system was a NPD's initiative? At least, use facts, and facts that are not questionable.
And the NDP will probably never be leading the country because the Canada is a two-party country, there are only two parties that can possibly have the most votes.
@Colariboo Uhhhhh..the NDP party may have founded public health; but, I can assure you, I met Ed Broadbent, I shook Ed Broadbent's hand....Jack Layton is no Ed Broadbent!
You cannot compare today's NDP under Taliban Jack to the NDP when it meant something and had a leader who had a conscience.
@MerlinAmbrosius17 Just because you disagree with the policies of the Harper government does not make them `crypto-fascist thugs.` It might be helpful if you made thoughtful comments rather then use insults that are clearly false.
@MerlinAmbrosius17 Canadians are so proud of Mr. Harper and his steady hand during the global economic crisis. Amazing how all world leaders came to Canada asking Mr. Harper's advice.
LOL!! Do some homework yourself, I am not going to school you on this. I am a conservative, I've seen how the party evolved and who controls it. Is it the conservative old guard or the members of the reform pulling the strings now?
Yah, you certainly aren't going to school me on this. I doubt you are a conservative or you would know that it is a revamped party, with the political right pulling together, and that the "Reform party" influence died when Manning retired.
Really? That is very interesting....lol! I guess you don't need schooling then since you know who is controlling the party. Funny then how the party is not so united with its elder statemen like Clark, Mulroney, and how other true Conservatives like Brison and Casey have left the party. I live in a Conerservative riding that won't vote for the Conservative Party....ironic eh smarty pants... lol!
I also assume you did not hear Mulroney's speech today.... lol That wonderful united "Conservative" party that you talk of... Joe Clark is not a member of the party anymore... Mulroney made no mention of Harper in his speech... Danny Williams, well, he can speak for himself....Reformers see Mulroney as an opponent, PCers see him as a lifelong friend and mentor who did his job and did so with a majority, something Harper will never have.
Nooooooo! A surplus budget (or several for that matter that the liberals delivered) is a positive. $100 billion in the hole...now that's a negative (That the tories gave us). That happened with a minority gov. IMAGINE how much they would ruin our country if they had a majority??? Scary eh!
Yay! now only half of the population can afford homes!

@Colariboo Jack Layton and Olivia stayed in publically subsidized housing while the homeless died on the streets of Toronto.
I hardly call Jack, "caring".
Just an observation....
mikefastener 1 year ago
@mikefastener And they are still dying... The Conservatives (and, nobody really) aren't taking care of them neither. Even worse, they are making the gap between richs and poors even bigger.
Colariboo 1 year ago
@Colariboo "and they are still dying"; but, we did not need the hypocrisy of Taliban Jack and Olivia to help the process along.
Right?
mikefastener 1 year ago
@mikefastener We don't need the hypothetical Jack Layton's hypocrisy, as well as we don't need anyone's hypocrisy. This is a ridiculous argument because you try to use the fact that I agree to something everyone is agreeing to (that hypocrisy isn't a good thing) to make me think Layton isn't a good person. I'm sorry, but hypocrisy has nothing to do with your political allegiance, and, in my opinion, Harper is a million time more hypocrite than Layton and a lot more than anyone else.
Colariboo 1 year ago
@Colariboo You are indeed wrong again! Jack's hypocrisy is shameful. Mr. Harper has never stayed in publicly subsidized housing (tell me the link if your disagree). Also, Mr. Harper has never gone to a private clinic but uses our public health care system (do I need to tell you about Jack?).
Oh well, luckily the NDP will never get into power unless they form another Separatist-Socialist Coalition with Iggy and the Bloc.
Agreed?
mikefastener 1 year ago
@mikefastener Why would I agree? You are making things up! And why do you keep to give me such unprooved and questionable hypothesis? And do I have to remind you that the public health care system was a NPD's initiative? At least, use facts, and facts that are not questionable.
And the NDP will probably never be leading the country because the Canada is a two-party country, there are only two parties that can possibly have the most votes.
Colariboo 1 year ago
@Colariboo Uhhhhh..the NDP party may have founded public health; but, I can assure you, I met Ed Broadbent, I shook Ed Broadbent's hand....Jack Layton is no Ed Broadbent!
You cannot compare today's NDP under Taliban Jack to the NDP when it meant something and had a leader who had a conscience.

F**k the HarperCons. Bunch of crypto-fascist thugs!!!
MerlinAmbrosius17 1 year ago
@MerlinAmbrosius17 Just because you disagree with the policies of the Harper government does not make them `crypto-fascist thugs.` It might be helpful if you made thoughtful comments rather then use insults that are clearly false.
SmithPolitics 1 year ago
@MerlinAmbrosius17 Canadians are so proud of Mr. Harper and his steady hand during the global economic crisis. Amazing how all world leaders came to Canada asking Mr. Harper's advice.
Who could argue?

Conservatives are the best.

How ironic is this ad...
All the Reform Party has done since they have been in power is run negative, attack ads that would make Karl Rove proud.
Typical hypocrites.
alastair36 2 years ago
Reform Party? Did you just wake up from a ten year coma or something?
rockmanted 2 years ago 3
A coma?
alastair36 2 years ago
Well, something must have kept you from knowing that the Reform party hasn't existed for the past ten year or so.
rockmanted 2 years ago
LOL!! Do some homework yourself, I am not going to school you on this. I am a conservative, I've seen how the party evolved and who controls it. Is it the conservative old guard or the members of the reform pulling the strings now?
alastair36 2 years ago
Yah, you certainly aren't going to school me on this. I doubt you are a conservative or you would know that it is a revamped party, with the political right pulling together, and that the "Reform party" influence died when Manning retired.
rockmanted 2 years ago
Really? That is very interesting....lol! I guess you don't need schooling then since you know who is controlling the party. Funny then how the party is not so united with its elder statemen like Clark, Mulroney, and how other true Conservatives like Brison and Casey have left the party. I live in a Conerservative riding that won't vote for the Conservative Party....ironic eh smarty pants... lol!
alastair36 2 years ago
I also assume you did not hear Mulroney's speech today.... lol That wonderful united "Conservative" party that you talk of... Joe Clark is not a member of the party anymore... Mulroney made no mention of Harper in his speech... Danny Williams, well, he can speak for himself....Reformers see Mulroney as an opponent, PCers see him as a lifelong friend and mentor who did his job and did so with a majority, something Harper will never have.
alastair36 2 years ago 2
Liberal politicos in Canada think that "reform" is a bad word.
It's quite funny, really, that they don't realize most people outside of the bubble think reform is generally a good thing.
Dauphin35 2 years ago 2
Nooooooo! A surplus budget (or several for that matter that the liberals delivered) is a positive. $100 billion in the hole...now that's a negative (That the tories gave us). That happened with a minority gov. IMAGINE how much they would ruin our country if they had a majority??? Scary eh!

Yes, let's do something positive for Canada.
Let's get rid of Harper.
The Harper government
scorns the Constitution,
scorns the Supreme Court,
Scorns Parliament,
scorns the will of the People,
and scorns the facts.
Just like all tyrannical power-pushers.
Harper's got to go!
