  • hi, i dont know if you still check your comments, but i recently built a tesla coil myself, and even though it lights up a bulb, i cant see any visible electrical arcs, even when done at night, do you know why this happens?

  • @beccapooley With so few information I can't help. The efficiency depends on all the parts, and geometry of your coil.

  • Are you running it with a multiple spark static cap?

  • @zker666

    Read the description.

  • Oh, lol sorry im not one to read descriptions

  • 4/5 because it raped your microphone.

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit look at the spark gap

  • Hard to tell from the video, but looks like you should increase your gap's BPS

  • can you imagine showing that to someone a 1000 years ago theyd probably burn you at the stake

  • Yea, they would just gasp and carry you away to the stake.. No question asked :P

  • touch it ! :D nice 5*

  • Sooo Tempting to put my hand near it >:D

  • yea i know what you mean

  • xxx discoteque

  • lol nice work in after effects

  • its real dumbass

  • youtube is full of ignorant idiots

  • couldnt u get electricuted if you got too close?

  • no, you would drown. =/

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but a Tesla coil is basicaly an open plasma ball right?

  • Well, circa it is, but has a few differences.

  • nimm ne rotary dan gehts noch besser

  • cool!

  • what is your driver circuit ? im trying a zvs flyback but cannot get t working. have you any advice? mad tesla by the way

  • See the details..

    AC tesla coil desing

    NST 9000V 0,1A

    Rotary spark gap ~ 150bps

    Homemade rolled poliethylene cap: 56nF

    Sec. coil 800turns 40cm x 10cm(15"x 4")

    Frequency circa 300KHz

    Max. spark lenght 80cm (31")

The flyback transformer has too little power, you cant use for tesla coil (with the flyback only, you can bigger arc do, with a flyback drivered tc). So in my opinion use MOTs, or NST (or pole transformer) ;)

  • lol i tryed a mot too dangerous i had my tc running on a flyback but the driver killed over

  • Yes, the mots or another 50/60Hz high voltage transformers is very dangerous, so be careful.

  • Nice. Nem rossz. :)

  • Yes, the sparks have a 50Hz (or in america 60Hz) component, and when you touch it, then makes pain.. more damage becomes, when you stand on the ground.

  • you should increase the bps on your rotary. I deffinatly think that the lower breaks per second is loosing energy due to missed sparks. With 900 watts, the arcs should be around 4 feet! I see lots of potential in this coil as well tho.

  • Yes, I know, higher BPS rate is needed, but my NST is dead by now. I have a nearly 15kW distribution transformer, so I can test my new DC tesla coil at higher BPS. Now I get only 3 feet arcs at 3kW, but I'll tune the system, for longer sparks.

  • not bad!!! check out my stuff ,and please "SUBSCRIBE"
