@bourky93 its a lesser cause its doesn't have as much depth in combos as heavenly sword did which had over 150 combinations while el shaddai has what less then 25 maybe idk lol, I said I like el shaddai better but heavenly sword exceled a lot more in certain areas then el shaddai, as for heavenly sword's storyline I didn't care for it but it made more sense then el shaddai's story.....
@VayuPurana The thing with those apparent 150 combos is that a majority of them are the same combo with 1 button slapped on the end... hardly in depth in any sense. Even so, no one remembers all those combos anyway because when I played it, I only remembers a dozen at most because that's all you need. You have as many combos in the game as you feel like, but not a single person will pro actively go out of their way to actually remember each of them since there is no point... it's redundant...

Heavenly sword was a simple release title and its main purpose was to fool around with the six axis feature in the PS3 controller.

All this arguing about reviews brings to light the inherent problem with them: That a review, which may well be just an opinion of the journalist, is more "potent" or "valid" than the opinion of the rest of us because it's posted on a professional website or magazine. People then take this "Empowered opinion" as fact, and misjudge a game accordingly. It's for this reason that Metacritic exists (not that Metacritic is doing the games industry any favours either, but still).

The beauty of youtube is that you get to watch whatever videos you want. If you really hate ign reviews so much, then watch someone else's game review that appeals to you. Many people commenting haven't even played the game and formulated their our own opinions on it. They list negative comments out of the idea that ign is biased. If that is the case, and ign is performing dishonest reviews, then choose to not watch them. That way, at least, you'll be decreasing their popularity.

I feel more inclined to agree with IGN on this one after playing the demo. Although the art style is truly amazing (I wouldn't expect less from the man behind the art of Okami) but the gameplay falls completely flat with stiff platforming and repetitive combat (even within the space of 10 minutes the combat was stale)

Games like this are the reason why I couldn't give a shit about a powerful PC. Art style drives games for me, and with stuff like El Shaddai, I see no reason to "upgrade". It's a beautiful game.

That's what I love about games. Art designs change to something beautiful and adds to the excitement. Games like Mirrors Edge, No more Heroes, even Super Street Fighter 4, have such beauty to look at. Fps, rpgs, mmos, etc. They do not give you something different to admire other than gameplay. Games are an art and reusing it, makes it boring. So IGN doesn't like new art? How.....likely.

Gamers are easily pleased if the game already has a name and studios take advantage of that. For example , after the first Assassin's Creed the rest all looked like DLC's. The same happens with Star Wars Force U 2, Skate 2 and 3, CoD Black Ops etc.
@mfcold1 well look at it this way, rather than looking at how the games are the same, look for what the devs have changed and improved upon. when looking at assassins creed 1 in comparison to assassins creed 2, you see that there is so much more diversity in the second game, which ads more to the game itself rather than sitting on a bench and taking a nap while to people (unrelated to the story) talk to each other. as for the other games you mentioned, they can go down the toilet for all I care!

Comments like that, tend to be hate material...

@xMrStrongCockx What their review of Kane and Lynch: Dead men, where the publisher edios paid for multiple banner ads and background ads featuring the game. After the reviewer gave the game a six the publisher allegedly took issue with the review, threatening to pull their advert, and the reviewer was promptly fired.

That's what I love about games. Art designs change to something beautiful and adds to the excitement. Games like Mirrors Edge, No more Heroes, even Super Street Fighter 4, have such beauty to look at. Fps, rpgs, mmos, etc. They do not give you something different to admire other than gameplay. Games are an art and reusing it, makes it boring. So IGN doesn't like new art? How.....likely.

For some reason, the audio can't seem to match. Their talking is way off when the lips move. It's like watching a bad kung-fu dub.

@Lluminari that's only because its synching for the japanese dub, they didn't resynch the english voiceovers. If you put on the japanese dub, it all synchs up

@mfcold1 I'm sorry but I have to disagree, infamous 2 may have played alot like infamous 1 but IMO thats a good thing, it stayed true to the formula that made first game fun for me and lots of other people to, not to mention improving on alot of complaints from the first 1 like better combat and improved climbing. so overall, I'd say infamou2 made for a much better game.

@cloakmaster1295 I played the game , one thing is keeping the formula , another thing is giving us almost the same game for us to play again , the game isnt bad but it is almost like the first one . Gamers are easily pleased if the game already has a name and studios take advantage of that. For example , after the first Assassin's Creed the rest all looked like DLC's. The same happens with Star Wars Force U 2, Skate 2 and 3, CoD Black Ops etc.

@mfcold1 well look at it this way, rather than looking at how the games are the same, look for what the devs have changed and improved upon. when looking at assassins creed 1 in comparison to assassins creed 2, you see that there is so much more diversity in the second game, which ads more to the game itself rather than sitting on a bench and taking a nap while to people (unrelated to the story) talk to each other. as for the other games you mentioned, they can go down the toilet for all I care!

@cloakmaster1295 it has some improvements but , in its core its exactly the same game as the first , i'm sorry but for me that isn't worth the price you have to play for it besides that the game sounds and feels exactly the same just in a different place with new tricks , I'm not saying thats a bad thing but charging full price for it is ridiculous , AC is turning like a Sports Game, a Dragonball , or a NFS they release one every year with little improvement. Im sorry for some bad english.

@figaro99999 Yeah. That makes gamespot a little less reliable. But anyone most people come to gamespot when IGN negatively reviews a game. But when they positively review one everyone is fine with their review. People should just live with the score of a game and play it for themselves

@higoshimaru That's because IGN staff are programmers and people who pay attention to flaws in development. Most of the time, I agree with IGN reviews, but I check gamespot and other reviewers like ZeitgaistReview for other opinions. However, sometimes IGN states some pretty dumb stuff about a game, like in Deus Ex Human revolution, the guy said "The game is actually not a shooter, it's just an RPG where you can shoot at things". Comments like that, tend to be hate material...
