Mickey's Toontown Fair Closing Night 02/11/11 - Including Wishes Fireworks Over Mickey's House

I was so mad when I went to Disney World in April 2011 that Mickey's Toontown fair was gone...I came all the way from England just to go to Disney World and was really looking forward to seeing Minnie and Mickey's houses. I was even more annoyed to learn that they were replacing it with more Fantasyland (as if it isn't big enough) and that they were making a stupid circus to replace the houses of MInnie and MIckey

Seeing this brought teers to my eyes..... Every year of my life i've went to Disney, and spent most of my time in toontown. Seeing it closing..... Goodbye toontown, rest in peace to it and all my childhood memories.

Well, at least we're getting something GOOD in return. If they replaced Mickey's ToonTown Fair with, say, some stupid Pixie Hollow area like it was originally planned, I'd whack out. Maybe when the Fantasyland Explansion is all done, the folks at Disney will right a wrong and re-build Mickey's ToonTown Fair!

@JeffLangeDVD Mickey's Toontown is still open, but that's not at WDW, that's at Disneyland. There's also a copy of Disneyland's Toontown at Tokyo Disneyland.

@g2fingers no they are NOT rebuilding it. they're building an extension for Fantasyland. im reeeallly sad cuz i really loved toontown fair. But, i mean, dont get me wrong, the new things going to be great, (a new castle and some kind of mine ride are some of the things) but I'll always miss toontown. :(

I know it's a little pathetic seeing as how I'm 26, but I'm really sad they got rid of Mickey's Toontown. I remember seeing Minnie's house on an episode of Full House when I was little and wanting to go so bad, but never got the chance. I really wish they would have at least moved Minnie and Mickey's houses rather than destroy them.

No, Its still going to be there there just referbishing it! i came back from WDWF yesterday and on the map for the new part of fansty land its on it so its staying there its not being destroyed! (thats what there building at the moment) its all closed off and you can still see it poking out of the top

@katiekatie132 Mickey's Toontown Fair will never be open again. Mickey and Minnie's houses are now gone, and nearly everything else will be (Goofy's Barnstormer will be rethemed the Great Goofini). It will be an extension of Fantasyland.

"Dude," the characters will be meeting and greeting in the Town Square Theater on Main Street, their houses will not be on Main Street.

And technically, Mickey and Minnie's houses are in Toontown at Disneyland anyway.

Definitely bittersweet watching them close those doors for the last time and the train closing down for the fireworks for the last time at Toontown that night. I've never been to this park without Mickey's house being there in some form. I've been there in 89, 95, 99, 01-03, 07 and 2010 with our next trip this September. Thanks so much for sharing this!

It's a sad sad sad day I'll never forget the memories I created in mickeys toontown fair!!!! But I am stoked to make more memories in the new fantasy land I can't wait I am very anxious to go and get the chance to meet the princesses in there own settings I am definately waiting for beasts castle where belles story time will be told then on and the new restaruant I can't wait I am going to be like a 5 year old again when they open the new fantasy land !!!

@metcool-yeah, if someone expects to come back in "a couple of months" and it to be finished they just might be disappointed. Although I guess it sounds better than "that's right folks expect that giant eye sore of a wall to still be here for another 2 maybe 3 years" LOL but seriously at lest the wall has concept art to help build the excitement. Can't wait!
