  • There always seem to be philosophical underpinnings in this show, especially on ethics and how it's not always so black and white. I like how Kino is perfectly nice to someone until they attack her and then she kills them instantly. She has developed a realistic code of ethics, fit for survival in the real world.

  • @Forseti6288 The show does have a heavy philosophical undertone, the whole anime revolves around the premise of "the world is not beautiful, therefore it is," which was introduced in the first episode IIRC, and each episode is simply there to provide evidence for said premise.

  • @snakepit000 Interesting. It's my kind of philosophy too. She has an objective standpoint, looking upon different societies externally and never allowing herself to spend too much time in each place or she might get consumed and lose her objectivity. This is how I aspire to be as well. I wish being a traveler was more practical. =P

  • @Forseti6288 same here! I would pick my backpack up and leave to travel the world if money wasn't so tough to come up with.

  • @aniretukatomai Get more jobs and start traveling! =D

  • @aniretukatomai Yes, me too =). I recently applied to the Canadian Navy, and although it's not the nomadic lifestyle I want, it will let me experience the world.

  • I thought Kino is strong like hell. I don't even think that kick could touch her.

  • @Rabbitybunny She may be strong, in her own way, but she wasn't exactly expecting him to do something like that and she is also very small. It doesn't matter how strong she is, a kick from a big guy like that is going to knock her down. Notice it hardly slowed her down, though.

  • Shame we never see the "Land of Ice Cream"

  • @ltflak: I would love for there to be a Candy Kingdom or something like that!

  • He "attacked" her because he was driven by guilt and wanted Kino to finish him off for his sins.

  • @ElegeantFencer An interesting interpretation, how did you get to your conclusion of him sinning and wanting to repent?

  • @snakepit000 It's kinda obvious. My friend jumped to the conclusion that the man wanted to safeguard the info that he revealed to Kino about the government doing experimentation on Rogue and his family. But then I asked, why would he reveal all that info to Kino in the first place? Also you can see in his eyes that he dosen't feel content at all what him and the government is doing. You can also see after when he kicks Kino he doesn't even shoot her. It's because he's telling her to kill him.

  • @ElegeantFencer I think you're right, it was obvious that he felt guilty for what he and his country has done but, I've always assumed that the reason he didn't shoot was because he never got a clear shot at Kino. Your interpretation makes more sense; he couldn't bare the guilt anymore and wanted a way out. He can't kill himself or have someone from the country kill him because that'll cause a lot of problems and unneeded talk, so who better to do it than a traveling stranger.

  • @snakepit000 Mmhmm, exactly my point.

I kinda like Kino's subtle type of story-telling. Nothing is really flat out told to you, and it makes you interpret the characters' motivations for yourself. Though I can't say my interpetation is the exact truth. It can be interpreted in many different ways.

  • in this anime

    doesnt exist a perfect city

all have their dark side like in the real world

the only one that was good finish like pompeya

the only barely good was the town of the girl who create a plane, but almost have xenophobia of knowledge of other places

the most creepy of all was the hometown of kino-girl

and in second place the city of "peace"

i think i can understand why kino doesnt want to stay more than 3 days in every place

    ALL SUCK!!!

  • @90socram Or rather it was just a place that was not for her. None of these places suck per-se they are just different countries with a different interpretation of the ideal society. If the all sucked the theme of the anime wouldn't be "the world is not beautiful therefore it is," It'll be " the world sucks and I hate it."

  • @90socram In the very first episode, actually, she mentions why she stays only three days. "I think...it's a lie. The reason I only stay three days in a country...is because I'm afraid of settling down. If I settled down anywhere...I would cease to be a Traveler."

So, she's not looking for a place to stay, because she doesn't *want* to stay put. The only major reason she wanted to stay in that one country, imo, was because it felt like home without the creepy "plucking out kid" thing.

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • Why Hermes does never speak about the first Kino?

  • @avalonpreen Hermes never knew the first Kino.

  • @snakepit000 That's totally crap. When the girl Kino is going to be killed by her parents the real male Kino watched her while he was ready to do WITH HERMES with whom the girl Kino escaped after the real Kino is killed. Her father might have attempted rape then murder on her. But Hermes did know the first Kino, just watch the series again you my friend! The real Kino might come out of the screen AND TRY to penetrate you because of your ignorance. You gonna get raped, I gonna enjoy it.

  • @avalonpreen You really are stupid. Hermes NEVER knew the first kino. Not actually Knew him, he may of saw him but that was only for a small amount of time. Kino travelled around but never on Hermes, He even said that hermes was given to him recently because he didn't work. So it's impossible for him to of travelled round on it. He went to get hermes repaired. After "2nd Kino" rode off near the end of that episode hermes asks her name and she says kino by accident. And hermes didn't say anything

  • Thanks you very much for uploading, really enjoyed watching this :)

  • In the book, it's much more clear that Kino beats, but does not kill Cole.

  • Well.. it was alright, thanks for uploading.. I can't really get enough of Kino.

However, in my personal opinion, this movie wasn't as good as some of the original episodes...

  • ...so what exactly happened after both sides fired? they both missed?

  • I assume Kino shot first injuring the guy (causing him to miss) then shot again killing him, If you listen closely you can clearly hear 3 shots fired.

  • @snakepit000 How could he have sent the letter narrated in his voice, if Kino killed him? Kino often tries to avoid killing her opponents if possible.

  • @MeiPeiPlay I agree. Kino doesn't try to avoid killing her opponents if possible though, she is doing killing at fair play. I do believe 'the mailman' in the 'post office' is injured though. i think there's only 1 shot by kino...and one shot by the mailman together? but it's heavily echoed underground. I agreed with snakepit that kino's shot might have injured the guy, but not killing him. In my opinion, the guy she using might require human reaction. Just my humble opinions.

  • @snakepit000 but kino doesnt kill unless it's necessary

  • @snakepit000 I listened it for three times, and could not hear three fires, anyways, why would one shot be quieter than the other two? It didn't seem to overlap either =(

  • @Mikasterz yeah thats the part i dont get it why he kicked her for? :S

  • @pervayy Well I think Cole kicked Kino to the ground because he knew she had a gun and he had to get her in a position where she couldn't get to it... But obviously, that didn't work out so well. xP

  • Thanks for the upload. I had trouble finding this "movie". Kino's Journey is a good series but heavily underrated.

  • Did Kino just get her ass kicked at 3:23 - 3:33? =O

I NEVER KNEW THAT WAS POSSIBLE. KINO IS SUPPOSED BE THE ONE KICKING ASS D:

But this was a good movie (for 29 minutes xD)

  • @XDFailmuffinXD No your seeing things.

  • Not sure what to say besides, 'It was great.'
