Great... too bad the base pedals don't show up until the very end... but great no less.
This practice of using popular idems for written and poliphonic styles goes back at least to the troubadours and was even found used in Gregorian chant (although very forbidden)... or at least what grew out of these early written styles... by the time of Palistrina it was almost a tradition. Cheers!
This is a beautiful piece of music and you interpret it masterfully. So much color and fantastic phrasing. I sure hope some church or cathedral is paying you well for your services because your music that I've been listening to absolutely touches my soul and refreshes the spirit. Well done!
Its very well written piece. I also play organ (roman-catholic church), but I specialize in ancient music and history of organ building in Poland.
I' m doing a doctorate in Warsaw Uniwersity.
I have a question. On which voices in manual played you? Coppel/Bourdon/Gedeckt/Maior (In Poland most common name Burdon, Gedakt, Flet Major) 8' + Siffloete (Siflet) 1'.
My husband (who liked this very much as well, regards!) and I listened to that piece several times, and we BOTH share the opinion that you CAN play that piece in ANY service! I really hope I will have the pleasure to listen to it soon on that wonderful church organ.;-) Everybody will enjoy it!
Fine work again. A stunning piece, wonderfully presented. Also love the stops you chose. The antique instruments makes it all the more special. I demand of course you playing it for me live at the next possibility on that wonderful organ. ;-))
Excellent! When I first heard this on the piano, I was impressed of the Baroque style in which it was composed in. I must say that piece sounds even more authentic played on such an instrument as yours. Thanks for posting this. Again, great job!!!

I was thinking about for some reasons, 'what if it's like Bach's Passacaglia and the main melody is played by the pedals for a few times?' =S

Haha, a funky tune has turned into a fugue! Really like the Tierce de Picardie at the end.
