I like how they did not drag out Death Note like all the other major anime's because any more and it would have just ruined the whole thing. This anime is so great because its short which keep people wanting to it again and again!
I don't think I could decide between L and Light. They're both amazing. The only time I cried was in Execution, when Light's father was going to kill light and Misa. I see Light as a sort of "fall from grace" kind of character and his intentions were amazing in my opinion. I'm a Kira supporter, but not in a psychotic way. I believed Light could have done it, had he not lost himself. Both are visionaries of justice, even if Light took a different path to ending crime. I love Kira/Light/L<3

There are only three movies and the third isn't vital to the story so you must have an idea of the story. Fyi Light is like the protagonist and the antagonist the entire story. lol
You tell me. Was he the opposing force to all evil or the biggest mass murderer the world has ever known? The same goes with L. Is L the detective that opposes this nasty force or is he the greedy detective that wanted to take down this force against evil? So who is the bad guy, and who is the good guy? And just for those of you who don't understand who the protagonist is in the story is, it is Light because the story is based around him. Protagonist=Main character- doesn't need to be good guy.

I honestly feel that he got borderline...okay, completely psychotic at the end of the series, but I think he was an amazing, complex character, nonetheless. I'm not a huge fan of L, however. I do like Mello and Near, but L really doesn't appeal to me. I love the anti-hero/villian vibe Light gave off, it made him such an interesting character. Admittedly, in the end, I think Matsuda was my absolute favorite. ;)

This isn't the original Light theme, the beat in the back ground isn't there, and some parts of the guitar are different. Did you make this, or is it from something else? Cos i have the soundtrack and it's different, not greatly different, but i find the beat in this version a little bit more addictive, my g/f says the same thing. In my opinion thats the most horrifying thing about L's death in his last moment he realized he was right the whole time, that Light was never his friend, and that hes the only one that knows this and he cant tell anyone.
Im actually happy, because in the end you do know L won right? As near is L's succesor, near is like L's recarnation. Really L won in the end, and thats enough for me to keep happy. When Light said he had won to L's grave, its as if L turned around and said, "Not a chance"..L always wins.
L realized that he was right, and although you could consider that all his work helped bring down Light, he had lost in the end by the loss of his own life.
His only mistake, is that he got too attached to Light and considered him his friend... Near went straight to the point and cornered Light.
L shouldn't have let touch the death note after arresting Higuchi. He already contemplated the possibility that Light/Kira sacrificed his power and planned to regain it, so it's odd that he would give Light the death note back.
Near did go straight to the point. But I think he jumped to conclusions too much. Like, he was right in the end, but from the information he had he was really jumping to conclusions by being so sure that Light was Kira.
It was obvious Light would die at the end because it's possible that somebody could be influenced by a show like this, and to see Kira succeed would make them believe they can succeed. It would have been awesome if he survived though
but in reality there is no L or mello or near and if some on was smart enough and had the right resorses the mabye thay could do it, and after all wouldn't it be agood thing if somone would clean up this scum whole we call a world

In the beginning of the anime I was on Lights side. Then he got to into the idea of being a god figure, that he kind of seemed to lose himself.
In the end L turned into my favorite character.

well you can't actually call it a theme but a tone moment whe all the cameras are focused on him for a minute i think at the last episode cause he went crazy and shot kira and he started talking about how much he loved the chief, this music started playing that was never used before so i won't call it a theme.(i'm not 100% so don't trust my advice:))

Oh sorry... I didn't mean to tax you or anything, it's just that I'm curious because I don't have the OST, and so I wondered if you were reffering to a matsuda theme covered in the OST. So it wasn't? That's all I wanna know. Thanks a lot for putting up with my ignorance!

Try listening to mello's theme first... I don't know if it's alike, it does have the rock beats after two minutes that you're suggesting... Maybe afterwards it'll figure.
