  • I have an Egyptian Mau mix, same color as the one you have. One day I hope to get an SBT Bengal, though. :)

  • nice room ;)

  • Egyptian Mau domination. :D

  • I have an Egyptian Mao That I rescued off of the streets of Seattle when she was about six month old. Crazy smart, super loyal and very low maintenance, Overall, the best cat that you could ever hope for.

  • If you can afford expensive cats like those you can afford to hire someone to kitty proof your house.. all those cords are dangerous!

  • bengal... HOLLY SMOKES WHERE THE HELL YOU FIND THIS EGYPTIAN CRACKHEAD FROM?, IT NEVER STOPS PLAYING.LOL

  • hey, just out of curiousity what type of egyptian mau is that..he's colouring is peculiar, cant quite tell if hes a bronze or silver? but then again he also alooks abit like he could be a bengal/mau mix, alot of ppl do mix them and the variations are quite beautiful. I love how he seems to just have bronze ears, or is that just the lighting! either way they are both beautiful

  • have a few extension cords there...

  • That Seems almost to Rough to Be a Play Fight. Poor Bengal kitty! Both very Beautiful though! My dad really wants a Mau lol I Just hope they are not that Evil To the owner lol

  • I miss my kitty :{ He is a EgyptianMau/Bengal mix

  • 3:59 looks safe! lets chew on some electrical cords!

  • hey they are dangered with all that electricity

  • for people who are interested in Egyptian Maus, remember they are very possesive with owners and their toys!

  • its not a big deal now as kittens, males have more strength as adults so domination can become very irritatin where females can end up being mean, depressive and jumpi at any noise. Remember that Maus are mini Cheetahs and can run more than 30mph, so they are faster and the bengal cat wont be that big. its great that u got them neutured but remember its anoying to have someone bully u everyday till you submit daily :I

  • i dont understand why they fight so much, can you keep them peaceful please?! the dark male cat doesnt leave the other one alone ever, it stresses out the girl...that domination can be changed! i used to have a cat male that would bother the female all the time and when i punished him everytime he bully her he would stop and the female was happy and relaxed. i dont understand why i always see male owners let the male cat get theur way.... animals can be trained EVEN CATS

  • by the way thay are playing :)

  • @dirkdigg22 Man, those people shouldn't even have pets. Speaking as one of their supporters, I say that if they want to be "ethical," they should not force their pets to go against nature like that. It's because of those types that PETA needs people like me.

  • @dirkdigg22 Do you really believe that there are people out there who would try to make their cats go vegan? I find the very idea of it extremely cruel.

  • @basha145 - I got my Mau by going online & researching breeders. I live in Washington & found a breeder in Calfornia that shipped him to me. Best $ I've spent on a cat but not cheap. The Smoke colored like mine & 1 in video are generally less expensive but just as great!!

  • My Mau acts the same way. He is the baby but he runs the joint, dominating all but 1 cat who will play fight with him. Others run & he chases. Then he can be all sweet & snuggle up with me. It is refreshing to see that Maus seem to just be dominant cats.

  • 6 people just dont have a heart for beautiful kittens like this

  • @resseses

    Light colour = Bengal.

    Dark colour = Egyptian Mau.

Some people may think that the 2 cats are genuinely fighting. They are not. The Mau is extremely gentle (believe it or not), with the Bengal. He never attempts to seriously hurt him. What he does is chase him and when the Bengal doesn't like it, he makes A LOT of loud noises.

The Bengal is very loud and screams and shouts every night at about 11pm, for about 5 minutes, walking round the house, as he does it.

  • @sunama1 i always thought they looked the same till i saw them together in one vid now i know my cat is a bengal

  • an egyptian mau and a savannah, and maybe i could actually enjoy life.

  • the dark male kitty is trying to mate. the female doesnt seem to like it.

  • @faiz461

I assure you, the dark male kitty was not trying to mate. He was 4 months old at the time. He was neutered. He was trying to dominate the other cat, until it submits. He has not changed and behaves exactly the same with my sister's cats, when they come round to stay with me. My sister has a much bigger cat and the Mau fights with him constantly. He will keep doing this until the cat submits.

  • @faiz461 why do people that dont know anything act like know it alls on ytube

  • @thisgame2 why can't people be more positive and help instead of giving negative comments?

u know why? becoz people are people. some are good, like @sunama1 who actually cared to explain the situation. and some just live off bringing people down.

  • The Silver Mau I know talks quite a bit, squeaky voice. Her Bengal brother has one of the weirdest cat voices ever, and likes to sit in the back stairway [great for amplification] and he does these loud guttural calls. No idea what for. The Mau is very small, and for a kick I held a phone to her side and got her monster purr on the answering machine-really cool!

  • Evo is a good food for the cats but in terms of welfare for the livestock, not. It's still better than your average cat food. However, if you would be open to a new food I would definitely suggest Castor & Pollux- still has the high meat content and is good for the animals. A really good-quality food.

I agree about the vegan cats. I think humane, organic foods are a much better option than forcing a cat onto an unnatural diet.

  • @dirkdigg22

I don't think a little grain in cat food is a problem- after all, they have adapted to it. But in the case of a cat with digestive problems like my Bengal, an all-meat diet is necessary, and there's certainly never any harm in an all-meat diet.

To me, however, the welfare of the animals that died to make the cat food is also a concern, which is why I feed my Bengal organic free-range meat, and my other cat Castor & Pollux organic food (which is also high meat content).

  • @maximum411

My Bengal has a VERY sensitive stomach. If I feed him anything other than Hills Science Sensitive Stomach dry cat food, his stools are like liquid. The Egyptian Mau is not so sensitive and he can eat varied food.

If you can, then try Applaws Dry Cat Food. That offers the highest meat contents of any cat food in the UK (and possibly the World). It is EXTREMELY high quality. Applaws wet food is also the highest quality, but it costs too much.

  • @sunama1

It's too bad- there should be more information in the internet about the digestive problems Bengals can have- they are not just regular domestic cats.

I would recommend Castor & Pollux Organic cat food- it has good meat content and the animals raised to put in the food are raised well.

  • @dirkdigg22

I know they can't have a completely plant-based diet (some vegan cat owners would argue though), but ALL commercial cat foods have grain and vegetable fillers. Domestic cats have adapted to tolerate this after thousands of years of scavenging human garbage, while Asian Leopard Cats haven't and thus the Bengal often has trouble. Of course, domestic cats still do best on a diet that is primarily meat.

  • idk for all those people who want to get a bengal or an egyptian mau i would go with the mau.

i have a bengal and since he is part wildcat i have to feed him a raw meat diet or else he gets diarrhea and poops all over the house :P

maus dont have this problem since their digestive systems are adapted to the domestic diet, which is more plant-based

  • omg, how lovely!! :D

  • which cat is the boss now? which one is stronger?

  • @cateyes221981

Egyptian Mau is the boss and will probably always be. He is VERY strong. But dominance is not necessarily determined by Strength or physical attributes.

In the same way a small female could dominate a BIG man, a smaller cat can dominate a larger cat.

The Egyptian Mau has a dominant personality and does not give up in a fight. If he loses 1 fight, he comes back again a few minutes later, until the other cat gets tired. From that point onwards, the Egyptian Mau dominates.

  • The 2 cat breeds that I want! Do they need anything more than what a more common breed of cat would need?

  • @FSXMovies

Nope. Nothing special is required to keep these 2 cats. Very easy to have around the house as they both have short hair.

What I can say is that my Egyptian Mau never sits in my lap. He also doesn't like to be handled for more than a few seconds. I believe that this is typical of the Egyptian Mau breed.

If you want a more calm/docile cat, then go for a Maine Coon. They are great.

  • How much do these breeds cost? Im guessing they are rather expensive?

  • @KIERANS1993

    I live in the UK.

Egyptian Mau (dark), cost about £500 (inc neutering by the breeder)

Bengal (light), cost £650 (inc neutering by the breeder)

  • @KIERANS1993 my family has a bengal, and it cost $800, so yes very expensive

  • Whoa...you seriously need to get Dana White to put this one on UFC!!!! ;)

  • @huskerlibertarian

    Hehehe.

Actually what you are hearing is the Bengal making a lot of noises. In reality, he isn't being attacked hard. He is just a very noisy cat. Even now, he is the same. Sometimes at night (11pm-midnight), he will walk around the house screaming and shouting at the top of his voice.

The Egyptian Mau, by comparison is almost silent, miaowing only when he is locked in a room. or wants to be let in through a closed door.

  • Didn't I see this place on an episode of hoarders?....I know, I know you shot it two years ago..just joking..nice cats!

  • lol get a table for you're stuff and clean up ^^

nice cats indeed i love both of the breeds

  • @Murlock2000 Hehe.

Its done already. That vid was taken over 2 years ago.

The 2 cats are now grown up. The dark one is still just as aggressive and he always wants action. Sometimes it is very annoying when I am working on my PC and he making lots of noise because he wants me to play with him.

  • Gorgeous cats...

  • mini tiger

  • beautiful cats! btw i wish i lived in ur house so i could organize it. my room used to be like a pigsty then i cleaned it ALL up in 2 days and ive been a neatfreak ever since, im sorry. :P

  • @lovingsomeone334

When the vid was taken (2 years ago), I had only recently moved in to the place. Also, there was building work still going on my other room, which meant I couldnt unpack boxes. This is the reason why there were so many boxes.

There are a lot of wires. Most of these have now been taken under ground, there I agree there are still lots of wires around...an unfortunate effect of having so many electronics in a single room.

  • hay guys iam from Egypt those lovely cats have been treated badly in the streets and eat from garbege plus the government poisned them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if you want Mau cats or ordinary egyption cat ( who are very nice loyal very very smart kind and playful too ) plz contact me i may help you to get one...............

  • The two cats are just so active and playful!

  • from thewarriors book series theyre like tigerstar but their like mini warriors

  • Maus always win.

  • I found my mau at an SPCA.. can u believe it? they titled him as a grey tiger.... wow.. hes not full mau but he has every characteristic of one.. he was only 85$ lmao and btw ur cats r soo cute!!!!

  • u have 2 of the most gorgoues breed of cats...your really lucky. my dream is one day to own them :)

  • @susu1981 Thanks man. That video was shot about 2 years ago now. The cats are fully grown and have some naughty habits. Eg Mr Bengal (the light coloured one), sometimes gets excited and runs around the house like mad. He then proceeds to climb on the TV stand and scratch the TV screen. Everyime he does this I have to shout out him to get him to stop doing it. Reflex, the darker one, usese the speaker grilles as a scratching post and has cut one of the woofers of the speakers.

  • crazy

  • Where did you get the Egyptian Mau? i saw that you got it in Ipswich? Mass or somewhere else. thank you!!

  • Look on google: CHANTINA CATTERY.

They have a wide range of Egyptian Maus - smoke, silver, bronze. If I wanted to buy another Mau, I would only get it from them as they seem to breed good quality cats.

  • @sunama1

I WAS QUOTED AT $1000 OR MORE DEPENDING ON COLOR AND GENDER

  • egyption maus are the fastest cats in the world

i have one just like urs and this month it has just became 1 year old

  • That room doesn't seem like a good place for cats. Electronics and wires everywhere.

And a computer on a box? xD

  • Such violent little beasts!

  • Are you breeding the two? That would be awesome because the two types produce amazing offspring.

  • Unfortunately not. I am not a breeder and I had both males neutered whilst they were still at their breeder's home.

  • Hey, Cute kitties! Which breeder did you get your Egyptian Mau from?

  • chantina cats.

They are based in Ipswich. If I wanted to buy another Egyptian Mau, then I wouldnt buy from anywhere else. I was very impressed with their set up and the qualilty of cats that they breed.

  • Which is which?

  • Light coloured cat = Bengal.

Dark coloured cat = Egyptian Mau

  • Is the egyptian mau faster then the bengal? I thought only the Bengal was mixed with Asian Leopard Cat. Cute video.

  • Egyptian Mau is definitely quicker. In general, I find that over short distances, the Mau is faster. But the Bengal is able to continue a high level of physical activity for longer. Also, the Mau gets out of breath quickly and needs a rest in between physical activity.

  • They are so cute! I love the way the tail puffs up when they are play-fighting; especially on the dark one.

  • Even now, at 18 months old, Reflex (the dark one), fluffs up his tail when he is excited, running around or fighting. When he has his tail fluffed up, I try and stay away from him as he tends to get very rough. The Bengal occassionally fluffs up his tail, but it's rare.

  • There very very very cute, my cat Caddy was very playful as a kitten and he still is he playful Caddy is seven right now... and Bambi is 18 and a half.

  • months or years

  • go mau

i hav one 5 months old

  • hey which one is the mau

    the dark one?

  • Yes.

  • how much did they cost?, and where did you get them?, because i wish i had a pair of egyptian mau's.

  • In creating the bengal, what other breeds are used to mate with the alc besides the E.M?

  • As I understand it, only a Bengal or Egyptian Mau have been mated with the Asian Leopard Cat, to create another Bengal.

  • they all look like bengal to me, ain't egyptian mau in silver colors?

  • Egyptian Mau can be 3 colours:

    Silver

Bronze (which is what I have); and

    Smoke.

  • haha... them together look like mine... i got a mix of mau and bengal.

  • Dont forget that virtually all Bengals have Egyptian Mau genes in them.

The first generation mating of the Asian Leopard Cat is almost always done with a Bengal or an Egyptian Mau, to produce the F1 Bengal.

  • Sunama - I have been looking into these Mau's all day. But with you being an owner I was wondering if you could describe their personalities and temperement for me. Thanks.

  • Egyptian Mau is the fastest cat, out of all the pedigrees. Analogous to the Greyhound in the canine World. It is a medium sized cat, with short hair.

The Mau has VERY acute senses (imagine a normal cat on speed), which means that it is much more highly strung and active than other cats.

  • Thank you for your help.

  • When creating the Bengal breed, the first crossing was done with an Egyptian Mau, as that was the most athletic cat available at the time.

The Mau doesnt like to sit in laps (though there will always be exceptions).

The Mau is a medium size cat.

  • bengal looks like a little cute cheetah

  • Hehehe.

Bengal is a cute cat. He is very naughty though. Like, if you leave shopping in bags, on the floor, he will tear them apart. The Mas is much more reserved and sensible - not as naughty.

Bengal is a large cat now, but very thin.

Mau is fatter, but smaller - but very strong.

  • how much did you have to pay for your cats? not trying to be nosey or anything, but i love these two breeds of cats.. and i would really like to purchase some :>

  • me 2! these are my 2 fav breeds

  • Bengal: £600

    Egyptian Mau: £450

You can get Bengals much cheaper if you look at classifieds (unwanted pets), but they wont be as young.

  • wow! you paid alot for your cats! I got my Egyptian Mau for 30$ but I dont think the owners knew that she was and Egyptian Mau at the time so we got an awesome deal for her lol!

  • Nice price. Where did the owners get her?

  • umm they were like 20 or 21 years old and they had a cat that had kittens so she mustve been an Egyptian Mau and they obviously didnt know the price they go for

  • Cute! :D

  • nice room xD

  • Also, Mr Bengal is definitely the more naughty. Reflex is like a 30 year old, well behaved man, who is in fantastic physical shape, while Mr Bengal is a like a spoilt 14 year old, who doesnt want to behave himself and has eaten far too much food.

And just as you saw in the video, Mr Bengal remains a very noisy cat, especially after he has eaten.

  • which one is bengal? and mau?

  • Bengal = Light coloured cat

    Mau = Dark coloured cat.

  • Well, now that they have nearly both reached full size, I will say that Reflex (dark cat), is a small cat, while Mr Bengal (lighter colour) is a large cat. However, Reflex remains the more dominant and walks around as if he owns the place.

I also must say that Mr Bengal isnt as submissive as the video will have you believe. Most of the time, he beats Reflex in the playfights, however, when Reflex wants to turn it on, there is only one winner.

  • Wow! I love my cats so I feel guilty saying this, but to have two beauties like yours, and an Aby, too...in addition to mine of course...heaven!

  • Indeed he does.

Mr Bengal was making a lot of noise that day. He wasn't in pain or anything. He was just trying to scare the Egyptian Mau away, but it wasnt working. Mr Bengal is still a VERY noisy cat.

The Mau is a very gentle cat with me and Mr Bengal. If a foriegn cat entered the house though, I believe he would attack it, ferociously.

  • The bengal sounds like a tiger, I love it :)

  • The Bengal is a very lovable, big, fat cat and certainly not vicious in any way.

Sometimes, he gets a surge of energy and releases it by running around like a mad cat and when he does this he sometimes knocks things over, as he doesnt quite understand how large he is.

The Mau is very aggressive towards other cats and has a short fuse. Though a lot smaller than the Bengal, he is stronger, more intelligent and more dominant than the Bengal. He can be vicious.

  • are they more vicious then regular kittens

  • You're kittens are beautiful. I have am eight month old Mau and American Short Hair mix. He is five times more active than your kitten, and only stays still if he is tired. Do you find your Mau to be nippy at all, because mine bites a lot. Like a wild instinct, rather than aggression. We had a hard time weaning him off of attacking faces.

  • Thank you.

The Mau used to be quite nippy, biting me when I didnt give him enough attention (eg. I was on the phone). He is still active and aggressive, but his aggression is directed towards other cats...not humans.

The Bengal is a lovable, big, fat cat and would be suited to a family who like to show it lots of attention.

The Mau, doesnt like to be touched or interfered with and would definitely strike out if a child kept annoying him.

  • He is slowly getting less and less aggressive. I have noticed, when a hand contains food, that he is very, very gentle all of the sudden. He ain't stupid. Man, Maus and food, ya know? I don't know that vicious would be a good word to describe any Mau, though, that turns them off. Spike mostly nips and strikes in a playful manner, with lots of bounding and bouncing. He also purrs when he does this.

  • Oh, and I got another question. (character count got me). Does yours growl when he has food? Mine does that, but doesn't act a well known food aggressive, if you take away his food he just stares at you. If it's a breed quirk then I can get my mom to leave him alone about it.

  • My Mau never growls. The only time I've heard him growl was when I first brought the Bengal into the house and introduced the 2 cats. After a few days, they both got used to eachother and the growling was finished.

  • It seems to m, that one of the cats didn´t want to "play".

Poor little citty, only defended itself and ran away :(

  • Oh yes.

The Bengal was trying to run away and defend itself when it got cornered. The Egyptian Mau is a very aggressive, strong cat. He is still that way, but is MUCH more relaxed with the Bengal. About once a month though, the Mau lays his dominance on the Bengal and corners him. The other times, he lets Bengal dictate the pace of play and will often run away from Bengal, so he can be chased.

The Bengal is now about 30% larger than the Egyptian Mau, yet the Mau is the more dominant.

  • they must have cost you a pretty penny!

    beautiful cats.

  • Hmm i would try to cover up thos cords the best i could, otherwise nice cats

  • So far (in over 6 months), they havent tried to chew any electrical cables.

The only cable the Bengal chewed through was a mobile phone, recharge cable which was very rubbery and thin. He chewed right through it, within 7 days of its arrival.

The Egyptian Mau so far, hasnt chewed through any cable.

  • You still should probably take care of those cords. Not just for the kittens, but it;s a tripping hazzard. Nothing like tripping over a cable with somethi sculding hot.

  • I have a Egyptian Mau and Bengal And mine seem to interact the same Way

My Mau is a boy My girl is a Bengal she is smaller but very much the boss

But I must say he gets into more trouble

  • Hey tangaloomababe.

One thing of note is that all because a cat is larger, it doesnt necessarily mean, it is stronger. My Egyptian Mau is smaller than his Bengal friend, but has more power. His power to weight ratio is much much higher.

I think in your case, that 4 month age gap, allied to the fact that the Bengal is male, is what has given him a massive advantage. Had your Egyptian Mau been male and of the same age as the Bengal, the story mightve been a lot different.

  • I have a Bengal and and Mau combination as well. The Bengal is about 4 months older than the Mau. Plus the Mau is female , the Bengal male. They are funny to watch. The Mau as you would know is faster, boy are they ever fast and I agree the Mau has more energy, but the Bengal being bigger and a male is stronger.

She might start most of the play fights but he knows how to finish them, he just sits on her or pins her down.

They are great to watch and so much fun as I am sure you would agreet

  • how many generations is ur bengal?

  • I'm not sure.

He is an SBT, so he is at least 5 generations away from an ALC.

  • which cat has more energy

  • I would say the Egyptian Mau is more energetic. He is heaps more athletic and leaves the Bengal standing when playing running games.

Bengal, however, is more naughty and gets upto mischief, while Egyptian Mau will sit and watch.

When it comes to running games, the Bengal sits and watches, while the Egyptian Mau runs at full speed, up and down my long hallway.

  • They are not so small anymore. The darker (Egyptian Mau) cat has grown up but the lighter (Bengal) is a lot larger than the Egyptian Mau. He is still more dominant though, as he is very athletic, quick, strong and as high energy levels, so he uses this to his advantage.

Bigger doesnt always mean stronger. Egyptian Mau = very very strong breed of cat.

  • light vs dark cute cats

  • It seems that Egyptian Maus and Bengals make good friends!

  • Yes, they do. I chose them because they are both very active, aggressive cats. It's not good to get 1 super active cat and 1 very slow, passive, inactive cat. The cats have to be well-matched.

  • Lovely.

    I enjoyed.

    It's a nice Couple.

    greetings Angeline

  • haha! I had a lot of fun watching at them. If i was you i would have join their fight game.

  • Aww. They might scratch me if I joined their fight.

I have trimmed their claws, but they are still very sharp. When I first got the Bengal, within 2 days my lower legs were covered in scratches and wounds.

Since that video was taken, they have both calmed down a lot and dont fight so hard. I think its because they have both accepted eachother as friends.

  • The dark one is a mau. You can tell by the spots. Nice cats.

  • Your cats are so beautiful, I envy you.

  • Thanks man.

They are both, very active. They dont playfight so aggressively anymore though they do have their wrestling matches, in near silence. When in the dark, all you see are things moving in the back ground as they hit objects. At night have to throw them out of my bedroom as prevent me from sleeping.

The Bengal (light coloured cat) will grow to be a lot larger than the Egyptian Mau (dark coloured cat), though right now, the Egyptian Mau is the dominant one.

  • I have an entire channel devoted to Bengals, stop by and make yourself at home.

  • One is an Egyptian Mau (4 months old).

The lighter one is the Bengal (3 months old).

And dont worry, they are only playfighting. I check them for scratches, etc and there is no damage.

Keep in mind that they have only just been introduced, so every hour/day that goes by, they should bond.

  • Egyptian Mau? They're both Bengals.
