I've read the first 2 books. The film was excellent but only just scrapped the surface of the first book, Inkheart. All in all, I think it's a brilliant idea of a story and pays a real homage, I think, to every book ever written. Good stuff!

Inkheart is one of my favorite books. And when I first heard that they where filming it I was so happy! But this movie is really disapointing. The story is not even close to the book and when Dustfinger got home in the end, they also ruined their chance to make Inkspell right. I just don't understand how they could fail som completely.
The movie in general is alright if you haven't read the book, but if you have the movie sucks.
The only good thing is Paul Bettany as Dustfinger!

Capricorn is the same actor as Gollum. I love both <3. but capricorn suppose to be emotionless. he was quite happy when i wachted him. and the books were MUCH better. i hope they make this film over, but then better. more like the books.

Actually, I thought the movie got the main gist of the book. The book was too long anyway; it was like, what, four inches thick? I loved the concept of the book, but it seriously dragged its plot out a lot. The film was better, and Meggie and Dustfinger were fantastic!

@MrRandomForever There is no second movie being made, according to IMDb. If it were being released in just two years, it would be listed there by now.
They pretty much ended the first movie in a way that they wouldn't have to make a sequel.
I don't think that there will be an Inkspell movie considering the fact that Dustfinger was able to return already. I wish though they would've continued the rest of the books into movies since Inkspell and Inkdeath are so freakingly awesome and really would want to see Inkworld with all the glass men, faries, white women etc...
I do agree that Brendan Frasier has a beautiful voice, but I don't know why they made Mo have an American accent when his daughter has an English one.
Can't wait to see who they cast as Orpheus in Inkspell...

Capricorn is the same actor as Gollum. I love both <3. but capricorn suppose to be emotionless. he was quite happy when i wachted him. and the books were MUCH better. i hope they make this film over, but then better. more like the books.

@eefiiej2 Very true, but I actually just rewatched the movie. And Capricorn was actually really funny to watch, especially the line: "Telephones, guns, and...whats that sticky stuff called?" Basta: "Duct tape." Capricorn: "Ah yes... duct tape! I love duct tape!" lol
That was so great. :D I think he was all right though, and honestly I don't think they would've been able to find anyone better. :-/

Actually, I thought the movie got the main gist of the book. The book was too long anyway; it was like, what, four inches thick? I loved the concept of the book, but it seriously dragged its plot out a lot. The film was better, and Meggie and Dustfinger were fantastic!

I saw this movie at the cinema with my dad and I thought it was really cool.
But 1 month ago I got the book for my birthday and when I read it I was like... "wasn't this a little different in the movie?"
(actually it was extremely different but I only remember parts of the movie. xD)
Ow and Dustfinger looks almost exactly like I imagined him!! <3

@MrRandomForever There is no second movie being made, according to IMDb. If it were being released in just two years, it would be listed there by now.
They pretty much ended the first movie in a way that they wouldn't have to make a sequel.

I don't think that there will be an Inkspell movie considering the fact that Dustfinger was able to return already. I wish though they would've continued the rest of the books into movies since Inkspell and Inkdeath are so freakingly awesome and really would want to see Inkworld with all the glass men, faries, white women etc...

I do agree that Brendan Frasier has a beautiful voice, but I don't know why they made Mo have an American accent when his daughter has an English one.
Can't wait to see who they cast as Orpheus in Inkspell...

I've read all three books, and to be honest I didn't image any of the characters to be as they look in the movie... apart from Meggie.
This movie looks crap... I wonder if they make Inkspell & Inkdeath?... hope that if they do they are much better... :/.
Elinor looks weird with that turbin on her head
and Mo isn't the nice gentle Mo we're all used to in the book :(.
