  • The Mormon Tabernacle Organ sounds great!

  • What reed is that we're hearing?! I played a late Skinner (1968?) that had a cromorne which sounded like that... I'm sorry but I don't like it. Other than the strange reed, WONDERFUL performance and of course wonderful organ! :D

  • The reed is a Crommorne with the tremulant.

  • andrew is so very talented. i really like this song since i was in grade school. i love the rendition of the UnReconstructed (dulcimer and fidle) plus i love it also in flute. ^^

  • Actually ,they play a variety of music. Within the last 7 months from when you posted last, they have had a variety of other things played.

  • Why do the tabernacle organists play the same music over again? I looked at the daily recital schedual and they seem to play the same music again every two months...

  • Your answer is in your question: "....the DAILY recital schedule....." I don't know any organist whose repertoire is so vast that he/she can't help repeat himself/herself with a schedule like that.

  • prehaps I can answer your question...the recitals are done twice daily and are primarily done for the benefit of the almost 5.1 million annual tourists who come to temple square each year. unless you come to temple square each day you would never know it was the same music played in the recitals. I hope this explains the recital repeat a little better for you.
