Even though the trans am is now considered by some to be "old school" there were tons of other better choices out there than a mustang.

Not the show, the car they used. Not using the Trans-Am, or something that at least looks similar to the Trans-Am, DESTROYED the TV show Knight Rider. It will never be the same again. I don't even care that Hoff isn't in the new one. Using an ugly looking bulky Mustang instead of the sleek Trans-Am original KITT ruined everything. All true Knight Rider fans are forever scarred.

I know thye couln't bring back the trans am, which shocked me at fisrt but exepted it and hoping they will bring back the trans am someday. This will definitely tarnish the legacy of the original Knight Rider. Take for example Team Knight Rider which flopped. The success of David Hasselhoff & the original Knight Rider cannot be matched. The original KITT had a 3 bar voice section. It was darker & mysterious. The new one here has HEADLIGHTS? I was a big fan of the old series; I remember running to the TV and being amazed every time. I always hoped a new series would come out. I know that through time, things change, so I will give this show a chance. I've always loved the Mustang myself, so that is an "upgrade" I don't really mind. Yeah, it might be cool to have the old car and KITT's voice, but then wouldn't we need ol' Hoff behind the wheel as well? If you want all that, maybe you should just buy the DVDs and skip this one.

They chose a sports car because KITT was a sports car. He was a Trans Am and thus they had to pick a more modern sports car. If you want a super Scion, I think there's going to be a Transformer that is a Scion soon.

They shoulda went with a 2001 model Firebird, okay yeah, Pontiac killed them off, but what's stopping them from just getting an old one? There's plenty around carlots. Even if they had to use CGI in order to do the stunts without having to trash a whole fleet of Firebirds atleast it would be better than having that fugly ass Mustang be KITT.
