Rise of the Lycans definitley solidified my love for Underworld. It was by far my favorite, since I don't really like Selene that much. Although I didn't like Sonja as a character much either, but her and Lucian's relationship killed me. It was brilliant. And Michael Sheen was brilliant.
I would ask you if you read UnderWorld Blood Enemy, because it sorta gives the origins of how Lucian and Sonja got together....but I am guessing you probably read it a hundred times already. Thanks for the post, great review.
Greg Cox's "Blood Enemy" was in no way accurate to the story the filmmakers ever wanted to tell: it's basically published fanfiction, and not very good fanfiction at that. The stories aren't at all in sync. However, I have read it. I own all of the soundtracks, the books, posters, DVDs, everything. I like giving the franchise money. :D
I have read rise of lycans finally, and I agree with you about the different story line. I did think that Blood Enemy was very good, but to do the movies they had to go with the other version. I agree totally, and again what a great review....take care of yourself.
from what I know "Blood Enemy" is based on the script Len Wise Man and Kevin Grevioux wrote in the first place as background story. So it is indeed accurate to the story.
I actually had the opportunity to speak with Cox a few years back: it was his story, The filmmakers had him write it just in cast the third movie never got made, but - just in case it did - they didn't want to spoil the story THEY had in mind.
I would've prefered if they would've made the third movie like the novel..I like that backstory better than the one they released with that third movie.
i cant wait for the next underworld movie! thre going to be a forth! its coming out in 2012

Lucian is awesome. He did not deserve to die the way he did.

@weinmj I admit I'm more than a little geeky about it, but EVERYONE has something they shouldn't take seriously, but do. You'll find yours one day!
I'm just surprised your parents are okay with you watching such a violent and sex-filled series.
