the only thing is that the first left straight punch (gyaku-zuki) is actually bad form by JKA karate standards. it's probably the reason why it didn't knock Bonnar out.

Despite people thumbing this down, I have to agree. Machida doesn't use proper technique in the ring. If he did, Bonnar could easily have been on the floor.
