  • Why does anyone give this slimy cunt the time of day?

  • Umm, when are people going to see ""Climate Change"" does not exist!!! With enough brainwashing, they will be taxing you for your ""carbon footprint"" (airlines have been asking for donations in airports to offset your "Carbon Footprint"). There are more scientists out there that say "Global Warming" (I'm sorry "Climate Change") is BS.Politicians want you to buy into it so everyone has this hippy idea "Save the Planet. Scientists that fudge the numbers depend on grants so they can stay employed!

  • @geddessyt Did you searched about that on Wikipedia? Maybe, you rely on sources that are incorrect... Because that's a stupid opinion on Climate Change.

Maybe you're just so angry because politicians use real scientific data to put their hands in your pocket and "rob" you with that "taxes". That's corruption, you're allowed to be angry and take action about it.

But you should be aware that Climate Change is real, there are facts. Just dig a little about it, there's no need to dig deep.

  • @geddessyt In retrospective, wrong ideas like your's just fucks up the work of many to solve this problem. And this is applicable to many people, not just random cases like you. Which fuck up things even more! People should be critical about things, that's true. But they should also inform themselves, from accurate sources though.

And that "hippie" comment was just... Well, retrograde thinking.

  • P.S YOU'RE THE GARBAGE DAVID.

    YOU'RE DONE. OVER. FINISHED.

  • Dousche...

  • Is that why the past data was altered? Many lower temperatures were thrown out to make the averages appear high. CLIMATEGATE!

I'm sick of these radicals claiming there's actually something wrong with the climate.

A bunch of Chicken Littles. and their ring leaders are Suzuki, Strong and Gore. All profiteers.

  • "If present trends continue, the world will be ... eleven degrees colder by the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age." Kenneth E.F. Watt, in "Earth Day," 1970.

  • Within a few years "children just aren't going to know what snow is." Snowfall will be "a very rare and exciting event." Dr. David Viner, senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, interviewed by the UK Independent, March 20, 2000.

Ten years later, in December 2009, London was hit by the heaviest snowfall seen in 20 years. And just last week, a snowstorm forced Heathrow airport to shut down, stranding thousands of Christmas travelers.

  • So Dr. Death and Destruction, Europe is buried in snow. Cubans are shivering in the cold. London, Ontario received record-snowfall, a state of emergency in Sarnia.

Your "climate change" is a JOKE dreamed up by your pal Maurice Strong. A cold jail cell for the 2 of you, and Algore? Oh wait, isn't Maurice is hiding out in China since being implicated in the Oil for Food Scandal??

  • @Tilbily I'm so sick of hearing the same old song from stupid people like you. You obviously don't seem to have the mental capacity to understand WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON, so please stop posting your useless comments. Europe being buried in snow at any given time is IRRELEVANT!!! Let me be as BASIC as I possibly can be here in explaining to you the REALITY! *Climates all over the world are changing at an UNNATURAL pace (hotter and colder!!!), and the temperature OVERALL is increasing*

  • @dbz4lifemm how do you know what a NATURAL climate is?

  • @ParapaDrifter There are hundreds upon thousands of examples that things are very WRONG. The ice caps and glaciers thinning out and melting within just HALF A CENTURY is certainly a prime one. Non native species being able to migrate farther and farther outside of their typical historical ranges year after year is another one. I could go on for ages. People who call scientists like David Suzuki "quacks" are out of their fucking minds. Get your heads out of the sand people...

  • @dbz4lifemm Yeah, get your "heads out of the sand".

Listen to this false phrophet like David Suzuki who preaches on saving the environment yet owns 3 HUGE mansions, a private island, and a HUGE gas guzzling tour bus.

He also likes to refer to poeple like you and me as "maggots".

He's all in it for the money. Wake up and open your eyes man!

  • @Yakinabottle What money!? AND, even IF he is/was "in it for the money", that doesn't make what he is saying wrong. You CAN'T argue with math and proven science dumb ass. Live in REALITY for a change, you might actually find it enlightening. For fuck sakes, i'm so sick of you ignorant arrogant right wingers shooting off your mouths about how we "tree huggers" are always coming up with conspiracy's to rob you poor wealthy types of your precious riches. Give me a fucking break!

  • This is the latest attempt by Communists/Industrialists to take over. It's all about redistributing wealth under the heading of "climate change". It was invented by billionaire industrialist Maurice Strong. Suzuki is just the mouthpiece. Just FOLLOW THE MONEY.

  • So less CO2 will reduce our medical costs now, man he will say anything to get cap and trade in. What a bunch of crap. Suzuki is a sad joke with zero credibility.

  • The real embarrasment is you Dave. A you're a liar. CBC is one of the most bias "NEWS" stations out there.

  • Master, master, Suzuki working for his masters, master, master, give us only lies.

  • Capitalist societies are to blame for the rush and rat race lives that we live today, the over-population and the selfish attitudes towards social welfare and more concerned with revenue-making. We are growing at a rapid rate that is not sustainable, this is the basic message!! Record extreme temperatures, rapid extinction of species, etc. Uneducated people like to turn a blind eye, being skeptical without enough info. Lab-grown meat and steroid-injected chicken - take your fancy?

  • So the dumb people here diss someone or something cos they don't understand what's really going on?! We, or some of us, as intelligent individuals should also be conscious of our own waste and harmful habits. Living smarter and more efficiently does not necessarily mean give up your entire lifestyle. Eg, 10 yrs ago, it was daggy to reuse plastic bags or buy reusable bags. Now that it costs, everybody is jumping on the bandwagon and thinks it's trendy to be smart enough to remember your own bag.

  • All this hot air coming out of Suzuki's mouth, maybe that is why temperatures in Canada have gone way up!

  • this guy is twisted

  • Harper is the whore of mega oil which is destroying Canada and the World. Bravo, Suzuki!

  • @tom500k If it wasn't for this oil that Canada was producing your country would come to a standstill, so think before you open your uneducated mouth. And while you're eating crow could you ask your military to stop murdering innocent children in the middle east for the control of THEIR oil?

    Thanks,

    Canada

  • See THE GLOBAL WARMING SWINDLE, to understand what is behind all that global warming lie and over all, the millions of dollars behind it.

  • @acuaman42 Better yet look up Lord Monckton on youtube & watch some of his videos

  • @steam0001 Thank you for your advise, of course I have seen those videos and also the ones about what happened at East Anglia University in the UK where a group of hakers discovered the emails of the researchers who had been hired by the IPCC and who had distorted scientific data in order to get money. This is a hard blow to the IPCC and to their scam about the CO2. Hope you see those videos.

  • Where is Suzuki on geoengineering? chemtrail programs and haze covering jet pollution? Useful idiot or in on it,

  • Climate Change is a lie. Debate over. Suzuki is a proponent of eugenics. He should be jailed.

  • your a moron wow

  • Give me all your money or the world will come to an abrupt end!!!

  • I can't remeber the issue but New Scientist published a study about the costs of adapting alternative fuel sources.

The percentage increases were ridiculousy small except on the aeronautics industry; although work is going into solar powered planes so I'm certain the cost would decrease there too.

  • @Skurataw

what is the fuckin deal with you narrow-minded pseudo-humanitarians?

when i say child limitation, i mean setting policies to discourage having large numbers of children. theoretically, human population growth would be at 0 if each couple has only two children. taxing additional children would be one example. i DO NOT mean killing the unborn, committing genocide, and eating the souls of children. get a clue.

we are growing EXPONENTIALLY. it doesn't matter how much extra you invest.

  • Google this vid:

TAXING THE AIR WE BREATHE - FEB 15th 2010.wmv

  • @madang007

The geoengineered air as suggested by the Pembina buddy of David Suzuki David Keith of Calgary U? Stop aerosol disbursment over our cities and children. That is climate change.

  • Suzuki is an idiot, just like so many other "scientists" out there. I remember reading an article in Readers Digest in which Suzuki stated: "Me and my colleagues laughed at the ideas we had 30 years ago." Well guess what Suzuki....People are going to laugh at the ideas you have now 30 years into the future....I'm laughing right now.

  • Agreed, as would anyone else that bothered to look at the data. Clearly though, someone here doesn't like us questioning their faith. thumbs down..

  • Let's kick this freeloader in the ass with his own carbon footprint

  • lmao

  • suzuki is canadas shame fuk him and the nwo

  • This stoner called us all maggots in 1971...I think he has maybe 4 brain cells left by now...I bet he hangs out with Tommy Chong

  • WE KNOW WHO YOU AAARRRRR

  • scammer

  • no your right he also talks about jailing politicians who dont believe the fake science he spews

Wasnt he jailed as a kid for believing he was japanese?

  • you guys are all fucking retards. climate change isnt the only thing suzuki discusses. but for some reason, it's all the assholes focus on nowadays.

maybe the climate is changing cuz of us. maybe it isnt. but our environment is sure as hell being damaged. and our biodiversity is sure as hell in the shitter. and overpopulation sure as hell is an issue. and your grandchildren sure as hell are going to suffer for it.

  • Overpopulation is a myth too! Geezze people!

  • @Winter077

if you seriously believe overpopulation is a myth, then you are living proof that the human race is not worth saving.

  • Hey, you believed that "climate change" AKA "global warming" was true. lol

You're also being looked at like disposable garbage by the powers that be. They don't want YOU around either.

  • How do you save the human race by getting rid of it? It's more about ethnic cleansing on a global scale. It has nothing to do with saving the earth, open your eyes fool.

  • @Winter077

bullshit. you think you can save the human race by reproducing past the carrying capacity of the earth? you think you save the human race by rubbing out all the other species in the biosphere? you won't even need to worry about ethnic cleansing when that happens, because pretty much everyone will be screwed.

you do not "get rid" of humans. you create awareness, make contraception accessible, and, if necessary, set child limitation policies.

    "open your eyes fool."

  • Is the answer Doublethink?

Rather absurd, don't you think, that not even a pro-human stance brings every human together in common interest, for survival, these days.

That's a bigger own-goal than voting in a dictatorship, where your vote no longer counts. But they'll never take their own life, just others.

  • Ha the one supporter that I seen at a glance is a shill with 2 channel views. I can see more and more are waking up to the biggest scam ever.

  • scammer

  • David Suzuki is nothing more than a long-term shill and Johnny one-note.

If you keep screetching the same old mantra, have a slick PR campaign, and a complicit CBC machine, you can pass off ANYTHING AS LEGIT.

In the 70's it was global cooling, in the 80's and 90's it was global warming, now it fricken "global cimate change". They keep moving the goal posts. WHAT A SHAM!!!

    "Green" is the new "Red".

  • it will never hurt to go cleaner but it may hurt bad to not go cleaner, whearther it is global warming or global cooling it does not matter what we can agree on is cleaner is better and if we cannot agree on that then i would suspect who ever disagrees with that is selling something

  • David Suzuki rules! He is on the right path, we should all follow! Planes nowadays exception of military, are actually more cleaner than cars! Buy hybrids, buy electrics. Make an electric car! Many have done it! Go David!

  • i was gunna buy a prius,but i dont want people 2 think im gay!...LMAO!!!

  • LEADING ENVIRONMENTALIST???

David and his pompous eugenic and carbon scam is an embarrassment to Canada

  • She is ( like most reporters ( jounalism is nearly dead ) ) coached and given the proper talking points and questions to ask this man.

As you watch this, and most any news, your opinions are being attacked.

Most news is a two sided debate not allowing the viewers to realize there are many alternate solutions.

  • How much grant money does David Suzuki get? See Bob Carter on youtube for some real science. H20 vapor is a much more abundant greenhouse gas accounting 80 percent; CO2 is only .03 percent. Most CO2 is produced via natural processes not man made and is washed out by water. See any science text.

  • Yep, he's rolling in cash, and pussy.

  • American Goverment is really stupid person . they dont know how to help the envirorment . what a stupid people....

  • It's not about saving the environment...

    It's about sustaining human beings...

Earth will adapt to anything that's imposed on it...

Earth will always be here in some form....

    But humans won't!

How much do you care about human sustainability?

How much do you care about your blood line?

It's tough, because we're not connected

  • It's about sustaining David Bazuky's bank account!

  • I'm not saying scrap recycling plans or go back to running trains on coal, but your hero Suzuki is failing in his quest to pull the wool over global vision.

"The environment keeps the economy going." That is so profound. You mean that if the environment didn't exist, there would be no economy. Wooo, EUREEEEKA. Well I'll give you another piece of news, since you're here doing research. No one is going to care about the economy if the world's monetary system collapses.

I think the bell just rung

  • All right fair enough. I do agree with you on that Gore and Suzuki are hypocrites. And actually I'm only 14 years old =P. Nice debate though I always seem to find a good one on youtube. As for spunkyspunkerton, he probably just keeps saying that you are schooled because he wants to keep the argument going so that he can plagurize it. Even if he isn't, he shouldn't really make an opinion if he is trying to get educated on this matter. Anyway, it's all cool. Thanks for the debate.

  • Hey dude, or dudess, hard to believe you're only 14. You didn't even add zz to any of your words that end in 's'. Nice to see. Anyway yeah, spunky is probably madly writing a thesis with many of our quotes. I bet the fool even thinks 'plagiarized' is spelt 'plagurized'. He'll probably realize he or she is wrong while he or she is cutting down a tree to burn in his or her bonfire. Don't you just hate those liberal hypocrites?

Cool debate. Thanks, and, you're welcome.

  • Yeah well when I'm talking about serious topics I don't want to be like "ZOMG SABE TEH TR33ZZZZZ0RZXXX!" Yup yup I hate liberal hypocrites. Oh geeze. I hope he doesn't start anything with me haha. Then I might have to type everything all over again.

  • -sending cold water where the warm water is supposed to be and warm water where the cold water is supposed to be and the warm water into cold currents and the cold water into warm currents. The proof, again, is right before our eyes. Hurricanes like Katrina, caused as all hurricanes are, tropical depressions, which only happen in warm water oceans. Could it be that even during winter, there is warm water because of the out-of-whack currents? Anyway, you blamed the heating on the ocean currents,-

  • To make huge sums of money they now want to eradicate, and this WILL cause job loss. In my opinion, the words of hypocrites like Suzuki and Gore should not be trusted. They're after fame and notoriety, and aren't thinking of the consequences---job losses, etc.

I think these hypocritical scientists better start looking for the natural occurance that is causing this ONE DEGREE IN 100 YEARS INCREASE, and stop trying to be heros. Gore...lololol wasn't that a great infomercial he put together.

  • And don't insult me by telling me I'm brainwashed. No one brainwashes me. Personally, I think scientists have done a great job on society, but there are still the lingering questions on everyone's mind. You want to let hypocrites like Suzuki take people's jobs away from them after they've made millions growing their own enormous carbon footprints? Give me a break. Suzuki cares about his own wealth. He's proved that by spewing huge amounts of CO2 into the air making money.

  • Can anyone answer that? How can we say 100%that 'Global Warming' is caused by increased CO2 emissions (man emitted)when we know that Global Freezing was a natural occurance. Is it perhaps coincidental that man is occupying the planet while the climate swings the other way? In the 70's scientists warned of an impending ice-age. Now they want funding to study Global Warming. But they want to leave a huge carbon footprint while they do it.

Give me proof that I'm wrong.

  • cause global heating. But right now, it is the most PROBABLE. We can say that since the last global warming was also caused by CO2 emmissions. Again, if you want proof just google mass extinction and it will most certainly come up.

What you are saying about people losing jobs is wrong. Alternate resources and the technology that comes with them will obviously create jobs.

  • What's really weird is that ole spunky here says that tampa won the argument and he's got him on a pedestal. You could say that spunky admires tampa passionately. Yet....he insisted on having a chat with me instead of his mentor. Something doesn't add up....something is rotten in the state of Denmark here. Do you think maybe....tampa and spunky.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I didn't fall for the oldest trick on youtube, did I?

  • Dude that's not cool. What makes you think i'm tampared?

Oh, I'd like to point out that you got schooled again.

  • Another one bites the dust!

  • dude yer hilarious. tampared so subtly schooled the hell outta you and you think you won!

  • He never answered my question, because he couldn't. It's the same question that every alarmist avoids. So he lost the argument.

  • well, dude, from what I could tell reading through what you guys put back and forth, he schooled your pants off. the coolest part is that he did it so subtly that you didn't even notice! i don't see any alarmism in his posts either. face it, dude, you got owned. I came by here to see if there are any videos talking about the issues because I'm trying to get educated on them, and tampared gave enough to at least for me to see that you are just a online punk wanting the last word. dude, you lost.

  • I think I did pretty well, especially if you consider that he's an ecologist. Still, he was unable to answer the question that all these alarmists are unable to. He avoided it, as do Suzuki and his gang of hypocritical money-laundering cronies. Gore has a private jet he flies around the world in. Yet while he's 10,000 feet in the air stuffing his face with wine and oysters, he wants us to reduce our carbon footprints. Suzuki as well. Hypocracy, you must love it! "Do as I say, not as I do."

  • Why should anyone have to answer for other people? and from what I'm learning these days it seems Suzuki, and Gore too I guess, go carbon neutral. Honestly you missed all the points that tampared was putting down. He was showing that human sped climate change is not a myth and all you were concerned with was what Al Gore does on his airplane. Really dude I think the reason that no one is debating with you is no where near the reason you think it is. Anyway, I've no beef with you.

  • Wrong. How is Suzuki carbon neutral? Gore? Has he given up the private jet? You people are so easily fooled it's hilarious. Tampa's heros are people with the biggest carbon footprints on the planet. He's takes the words of hypocrites over others. Suzuki may not fly as much anymore but that's because he's getting older. If he was in his prime and there was a buck to be made he's hop a plane to timbuktu and follow a fruit fly around for days with a microscope.

I've got no beef with you, either.

  • Ok this is really stupid. First of all, even if he is a hyprocrite, he is still tryin to get other people to lower THEIR CO2 emissions, which is a hell of a lot better than just emitting them and not doing anything. I didn't read the whole argument, but it does seem like a lot of it is about if Suzuki is a hypocrite or not. Calling him a hypocrite won't fix global warming. Listening to him will. He is just one person.

  • Ok I've just read more of your argument with Tampa. Honestly, you are pretending like the CO2 levels helping the plants will prevent all of the other side effects that come with global warming. I also read that you said that there is no proof that increased CO2 levels will negatively affect the Earth? ?Open your eyes, there is definite proof. The proof is happening right now!

  • Glaciers and icecaps are diminishing, hurricanes like Katrina are happening more often. Dont tell me you are one of those gas company brainwashed people that believe that global warming evidence is inconclusive. You know that since the industrial revolition, CO2 concentration levels have gone up by around 30%? If you need proof, look up any CO2 concentration graph on google.Anyway you interpret it, CO2 levels are increasing, and fast. Now the negative effects are evident. Coincidence? I think not.

  • Ok Dr, when those icecaps were forming, was

CO2 decreasing during this time? What caused it to decrease? And what caused the ice-age? Was it caused by man? No, it was a natural occurance. So, global warming is the same thing, a natural occurance. Scientists have all the right answers so that they get funding...until someone stumps them. Then they say "we are the scientists, we know what is going on, don't question us"

Suzuki is a hypocrite with a huge carbon footprint. Don't be fooled.

  • AHA!! You forgot one thing. You forgot that even natural occurrances dont spontaneously appear. There is still a reason for them. The last major global warming caused a mass extinction, only the cause was the large amounts of volcanoes at the time spewing outlarge amounts of CO2. The most probable cause is the cars, factories, etc. I don't hear of a lot of volcanoes, or any other natural CO2 producer being a problem. Of course, CO2 and air pollution for that matter isn't the only thing that can-

  • AHA, you forgot something, too. Global warming, which is just term, did not sponteously appear. There's been a little over a degree increase in a hundred years. Most of that attributable to oceans. It may have appeared to have appeared spontaneously to because some scientist somewhere noticed this on a graph and had to find a reason for it. Of course they're not going to go after a natural occurance, they're going to go after man. And the industrial revolution. The very things they've employed

  • I know global warming did not spontaneously appear. That's what I just said. If by "attributable oceans" means that the ocean currents are causing this change in temperature (as far as i know thats the biggest and most significant way that they change temperature), then you may be right. But wait, what's causing the change in the current? Most likely global warming. The increased temperature heats up water near the poles, knocking the convection and currents in the water out of ballance, thus-

  • -when you should be blaming the ocean currents on the heating.

  • I appreciate what you're saying. You've obviously educated yourself on this matter. Maybe you're an ecologist or whatever. But no one can predict how the world is going to be thousands of years from now. I think most countries are, if not totally scrapping this green movement, at least putting it on hold to concentrate on the economy. Hopefully guys like Suzuki and Gore understand that their crusades are done for now. I don't trust them...too much hypocracy. Thanks for the lesson.

  • As far as I can tell man Europe is doing a pretty good job on keeping the green movement going. Us here in canada are lagging behind, I think. If that's your example of giving up to face the economy, then you may be right. But it doesn't mean that the environment is being pushed out of view. Really though it is the enviornment that keeps our economy going.

  • Aren't you the one who said that you only came here to get educated on the issue? And you keep posting me? Methinks YOU are the one getting schooled, my friend. You're probably plagurizing my posts. I bet you'll put out a killer of a report, and get full marks for originality. The U.S. is using research money for new fuels to bail out the auto indurstry. Billions. Europe putting its plans on hold to try and stabilize the economy. Canada hasn't really even bought into the B.S.

  • I'm not saying we should increase CO2 levels in the air so that plant life thrives. Please quit trying to make your case sound more credible. But it's a nice benefit. I don't think that me going to a Suzuki seminar and confronting him would turn out so good. Because I'm not a scientist, he would immediately try to discredit me. But what would happen is that I'd easily be able to expose his hypocracy and he'd take it personally. Either I'd be cut off or removed from the room...agreed?

  • That's nice I'm one of your favourites, but what's intimidating you? I never once threatened you or even swore --- I just stated my case: That Suzuki is a quack who scourged the earth's resources to make millions, but now that he's content he wants us all to cut back. I guess maybe you were in over your head during this debate and felt intimidated. And to repeat, you're another one. The technology you're using to write me spewed huge amounts of CO2 into the air. Hypocrite.

  • I think I've made my point.

  • I wouldn't argue that.

  • Oh yes you would, you did, you lost. And the next time you have tea with Mr. Suzuki could you ask him to come in here and answer my question? Since you were too feeble-minded to even make an attempt yourself. Now go do your great experiment--boil some water, feel the heat rising and scream Eureeeekkkkkaaaaa. And quit pretending to be a scientist. And one more thing---quit trying to downplay the importance or reading. You should try it, instead of trying to pass off your fantasies as truth.

  • Fine. Enjoy your lone adventures into self-appreciation with "Way to go TampaRed on running away from my questions. Just as I thought." Internet tough guys are my favourite kind of tough guy. Why not contact Suzuki yourself? Go to one of his seminars & confront him. Reading & studying are not the same thing. Anyone can read anything & walk away with what they've been told, & not what they've come to understand. I see you may now know about carbon sinks & heat increase/gas release. Now think.

  • You are right if Suzuki really wanted to spread a message he would be travelling by

train or Hydrogen car this would set a better

example unfortunately it would not be very glamourous for him that is why he doesn't do it. He jumped on the climate change band wagon

for personal fame it is that plain and simple.

Anyone who believes otherwise is being a fool.

  • Here's an honest reply I got from a Suzuki supporter:

Suzuki's wikipedia page states: Suzuki himself laments that in traveling constantly to spread his message of climate responsibility, he's "over his [carbon] limit by hundreds of tonnes." He has stopped vacationing overseas and taken to "clustering" his speaking engagements together to reduce his carbon footprint.

This is everything I've been telling you Tampa, that you've been denying.

  • I've known about this since Suzuki claimed it. It's not what you've been talking about. In fact, it's quite different. The methods of spreading word have become more efficient, and so it's no longer needed to be effected by the irony of the necessity to travel to teach. Suzuki has always been cautious of his footprint, and now that new methods exist that make that caustiousness more effective, he's utilizing those. You've simply accused him of being hypocritcal in his old age.

  • Uh...he's been talking about the environment for how many decades? Yet he's supported the airline, auto, and technology industries all this time. He'd take a plane to Kenya to investigate the decline of a spidermite and blame it on pollution. Perhaps now that he's older, he doesn't want to travel as much---so

the teleconference thing is a nice convenience. By the way, are you a scientist? Or do you read and hear about all you preach?

You avoided my question again. Ok to read and learn?

  • The tragic irony of necessary research. Luckily now, such technology is no longer needed to spread wider knowledge. He travelled acrossed the entire length of Canada last year. He travels all the time, and he utilizes carbon neutral. I'm an ecologist. In fact, I was monitoring water quality (turbidity, temperature, DO, & pH) in the local mountains today. You didn't ask me any questions. Your "thriving plants" as evidence of the greatness of increased unnatural CO2 still doesn't hold up to logic.

  • How can you take Suzuki or Gore seriously? Two of the biggest emitters of CO2 in the history of humanity, I repeat. Suzuki has been a hypocrite his whole life. Just now he's cut down on his jet-set life, probably because one of his pawns pointed out that it would be a good idea, if not just for show.

  • I'm not supporting the increased production of CO2. You ploys are making you even less credible. I'm not referring to the 70's warning. I did read that the scientists back then warned that the world would end soon because of pollution? The same thing is going on here, except that what---they aren't giving a time frame because they don't have a clue. They have no definite proof that the world will be negatively affected (and refute all positive effects) by increased CO2 levels.

  • No scientist is suggesting the world is going to end. Where are you getting this stuff? Yes, we do know that increased levels of CO2 will negatively affect the planet. Will you please educate yourself about the basic chemical law I'm tirelessly telling you about. Get educated and we can continue more seriously. If you can start using real science in your debates instead of "I've read", "I've heard plants can", "Suzuki is" then we'll have something to actually discuss.

  • You don't want me to use in my arguments "I've read", and yet you keep telling me to read these books you recommend. If I do, can I quote them? No, I can't, can I. By your own reasoning, it's of no use learning anything out of a book. How else should one learn? By listening to you? You, who won't listen to reasoning and scientific proof (the thriving plants). How does one discuss anything with you?

  • Oh my.

  • Plants lose water through the pores in leaves that let CO2 enter. Higher CO2 levels mean they do not need to open these pores as much, reducing water loss.

So, in times of drought???? Good thing, right? Drought is a huge cause of world hunger. Right? Scientists DO agree that higher CO2 levels will increase a plants ability to survive drought. And this is a GOOD THING. Ask the people with starving children in Africa if this is good. Suzuki, however, is a well-fed man.

  • Mind boggling. We do not know how increased water retention will effect ecosystems. There's no indicator that water retention will actually lessen possibility of drought. Are you actually supporting the increased production of CO2, which we know by a basic chemical process (that I've asked you to look into several times) will increase surface temperatures beyond sustainable levels just because it may help retain water? Africa's problem is political not environmental. Suzuki does plenty to help.

  • Notice how those whose arguments start on shaky ground and get swallowed in the earthquake of debate run quickly and minimize their losses? Smart move, TampaRed.

  • Have you read those books, yet?

  • Have you come to terms that global warming is a myth? Can you explain climate change? Why did Global Freezing occur? Is climate change natural, or caused by man? Remember, we weren't on the planet before the ice ages. Just letting you know, in case you didn't.

Don't be sarcastic, just answer the questions.

  • Global warming isn't a myth, you're one of the last to be confused by the term. Climate change is the slow, significant change of average weather patterns to a particular ecosystem or region. Processes that induce climate change are called forcings, & include shifts in solar energy, greenhouse gas emissions, and so on. Are you referring to the conjecture of global cooling that received no scientific support in the '70s? Why accuse me of not answering when I'm still waiting for your answers?

  • I asked the original question and you still haven't answered me. None of you have. That's why we shouldn't trust your groups data and desire to change the world for what could be worse. And you aren't asking any questions, besides 'have you read the books yet'? You're just brainwashed by Suzuki and Gore, two of the biggest CO2 emitters in the history of humanity. Don't be fooled by them. They're after notoriety and fame, that's all.

  • I've answered every question you've asked. I've asked you for citations on suspect comments. I also asked you to look into the basic chemical law of heat increase/gas loss. You've yet to deliver. My remarks about the books are very serious, as you are constantly making remarks that are illogical & unscientific & can be ultimately debunked by a kid studying biology 101. I'm hoping you'll read these text books so we're not continually ending up with you being loud. Loud doesn't equal right.

  • Nice one Suzuki pawn! I like that!

  • Europe is now going back on their plan to reduce greenhouse gases. They obviously don't think it's such a big deal afterall. People like Suzuki and Gore are just looking for attention and are self-serving hypocrites. Gore's private jet...hmmmmmm.

  • Citation, please.

    And once again, carbon neutral.

  • Why are you using a comptuer??? Huge amounts of energy was used to create this technology---hundreds of thousands of flights have been taken, just to create the internet. Airlines need the internet to operate. Do you know what all this emits into the atmosphere. HYPOCRITE.......HYPOCRITE......DO IT AS LONG AS IT SUITS YOU, BUT EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO CUT DOWN....HYPOCRITE, SUZUKI PAWN

  • I won't lower myself & insult you, but I'm sorry, your opinions are baseless. I'm uncertain, but I'd bet that my personal energy consumption, which is sustainable, is much lower than yours, and I bet that Suzuki's is too. There's no way to prove that to you of course, and since you've obviously removed yourself from the chance of educating yourself on the matter, I'd waste my time trying. Educate yourself. Read these: Elements of Ecology & Conservation Biology. I'm done conversing. Take care.

  • I'm going to be polite. Suzuki asking us to use less energy is like an obese person telling the world to eat much less. He has raped the resources available to him for decades to make a living, and now that he's in the latter stages of his life he wants us all to cut down. The TV shows and travelling he has done amounts to a many times what I could ever use. My name may never be as well known as Suzuki, but at least I can say that I am not a hypocrite. Suzuki, you are a hypocrite.

  • Fine, I guess I'm not done conversing... *grumble*

Again your facts are tangled. Look into how Suzuki travels, especially his cross-Canada tour last year.

  • Yeah, NOW. Once his career is on the wane and he's getting closer to Shady Acres. Again, he pilfered our planets resources and was directly responsbile for how much CO2 being emitted into the air? Come on...was he or was he not responsible for huge amounts of these emissions? All the flying and all the supporting of the technology, which was supported by vast amounts of energy consumption for its creation. Yes?

  • Sure, he's responisble for producing CO2, I didn't say he wasn't. I made points indicating that he reduces his own production of CO2, and no it hasn't been just recently. Suzuki has been an avid environmentalist since the late '60s. When new knowledge comes to light, it only stands to reason that we must move forward. Do you not agree? My point has been continuously that people like Suzuki are working toward alternative sources, use alternative sources, and have much smaller carbon footprints.

  • Do explain to us why it's okay for Suzuki to write on a piece of paper but if I do it it's a damn waste of resources. Explain why Suzuki can take a plane or use the latest technology all he wants, but if the rest of the world does it we are ruining the planet. I bet Suzuki enjoyed watching the wasteful fumes of the Zamboni rise without even a second thought. I guess it's ok as long as the great Suzuki is enjoying the moment. If anyone else is, he's all over them.

  • Use recycled paper from farmed trees. Go carbon neutral.

Your complaints are justified only by your lack of knowledge.

  • When Japan was in war with the states My teachers father went to united states for cover and people who came from japan had to go to a prision camp and guess what?? his father met david sazuki

  • Wouldn't that make Suzuki about 95 now? I don't think he's that old. May look it, but I think he's only in his seventies, eightees tops

  • Dr Suzuki is 72, and yes his family was forced to enter camps once the Pacific War started. He was a child at the time. He has spoken and written extensively about his experiences there.

  • Ha ha Suzuki is pretending that he's saving the world by talking to university students via teleconferencing instead of flying. Doesn't this idiot, Suzuki, realize how much energy went into the creation of this technology. And has he heard of electronic waste? Within a year there will be some new way of communicating his garbage, and the current hardware will be in a dump. Suzuki=hypocrite. Cut his funding, let him fade into the horizon.

  • juzu4me bless you! Nice to see someone can

see what Suzuki is interested in "HIMSELF"!

  • The guy is a bum. Not long after I wrote that comment I was at a Canucks game and Suzuki was sitting a few rows in front of me looking like his shit didn't stink and I had to laugh my ass off. I bet you if I said anything to him the hypocritcal pussy would have called security and I'd have been kicked out. Doesn't Suzuki realize that these players are flying on planes all the time? Yet he supports them by watching their games. HYPOCRITE SUZUKI. He supports 'global warming'.

  • Good one juzu way too go! That you for exposing this guy for what he really is,

its amazing the Liberals do nothing while emissions increased for 13 years he says nothing the Conservatives get in, and he is just trying to look like a hero by picking on the Conservatives. Anyone can do that a real hero is Geoffery Ballard someone who does something not someone who points fingers!

  • He said nothing? Have you not seen any of his interviews or lectures, read any of his articles or books exposing the lies of the Liberals? Just the same, in general, the Libs do support environmental causes more than the Cons. I support neither group, and if you've done your research, you'll see that neither does Suzuki.

  • Hmm, funny, I've met Suzuki on several occasions and he was always very welcoming and polite.

Forest for the trees for you, I suppose.

  • Suzuki uses much more energy than the average person. Can he explain Global Freezing? The ice age? Of course, it was natural. Just like the little increase in temps over the last fifty years. He's just an aging 'scientist' looking for attention and joining the global warming bandwagon. Good thing his influence is marginal, otherwise the liberals might have gotten elected. Hypocrites are poor role models, and Suzuki proves this statement.

  • Oh really Willduquebec? You don't say, No kidding thank you for telling us what we already know! People know these things already Why don't you focus on creating a solution to the problem? Educate people about

Hydrogen or other new types of technology out

there instead of telling us stuff we already know!

  • Folks, both environmentalists AND economists now agree that climate change is NOT a "myth". There are open letters over the last few days from large groups of both, telling us we need to vote for the environment. There is a ton of evidence showing us that this is happening now. Not only that, it is already costing a lot of money. Just look at the effects of Hurricane Katina on New Orleans and Hurricane Juan on Halifax.

  • The most mindboggling thing is the lack of knowledge most people have about the economy and the ecology, though they tend to lean toward one without knowing any of the intricate details about it.

ECOlogy and ECOnomy are based on the same term.

  • Right then. Explain to me the ice age then, and why it's different (besides the obvious, one's hot and one's cold) from the 'APPARENT' global warming that's taking place. You've heard of the four seasons? Perhaps the ice age is a long (relatively) winter, the 'APPARENT' global warming a long (relatively) summer. There's no proof of global warming.

HYPOcracy and HYPO-bullshit are based on the same term.

  • What is it about the ice age you need explained? And which ice age would you like to have explained? There's plenty of proof of global warming. The basic chemical law of heat increase/gas release (which can be seen when you boil water - there's proof that water can boil, too) is perhaps the most obvious and elementary.

  • Explain to me why the same forces that caused the ice ages are not responsible for a POSSIBLE warming trend. Have you heard of cycles? From ice age to warming to ice age to warming? Did man cause the warming after the last ice age? NOOOOOO. Man is responsible for so little of the rise of temps recently, yet you want to reverse the industrial revolution? I bet if a dog shit on your lawn, you'd resod your whole yard. That describes you very simply, and truthfully.

  • You're confusing cycles with timeframes vs. quantity.

Also, in the "example" you provided, feces acts as a nutrient, not a pollutant.

  • Just as I thought---not a clue. Not even an iota of an explanation. I'm not confusing anything with anything. I asked you the question that not one of you tree-huggers have been able to answer. Not one of you have even tried---opting instead to avoid the question or spin it.

And you say feces acts as a nutrient? Then EAT SHIT

  • Your question doesn't make much sense, that's likely why no one is giving you much serious attention. It's like asking if you'd eat the moon if it were made out of BBQ spare ribs. It's simply non-sensical. Cycles of ice ages happened at recorded intervals; the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere is significantly higher than before the mass burning of fossil fuels post-Industrial Revolution. Your tendency to insult further degrades any chance of anyone wanting to have a serious discussion with you.

  • The reason no one is answering me is because my question cuts like a knife through the 'soul' of this global warming issue. Rather than answer the question, you make some saracastic comment about the moon being made of spareribs. Nice going. You really backed up your claims. And you know, plant life is growing better now than at any other time..the CO2 helps prevent water loss. More food supply than ever before, helping people live longer and helping to feed the hungry.

    DIGEST THAT

  • The fact that CO2 tightens stomata isn't an indicator of a positive nature of increased CO2 levels. Increased retention of water in the surface would likely cause soil saturation & therefore flooding during heavy rainfall. Plus, we don't yet know what unnatural increases in water retention will do to a plant ecosystem.

  • Moreover, it isn't shocking that some positive effects of increased CO2 occur. Life is resilient at its most minute. Some cave ecosystems base their energy on SO2, with no solar energy. With that, by giving an uncertain example of increased water retention you haven't shut the door on the debate. What about atmospheric temperature increase & the basic chemical cycle that will promote it? Saying plants are growing better than in the past is unfounded. More food supply? Reliable citation, please.

  • David Suzuki represent the environnementalist movement. Not the climate change movement.

In fact, the environnemental problems have multiple dimensions.

Air, water and soil pollution, biodiversity loss, soil erosion, waste management problems (not in north america yet, we have so much space to dump!), diseases rate such as asthma wich is going way up in city areas, etc...

  • I do my part for the planet by not having children.

  • Global warming is a myth. Its just another excuse to jack up the fuel prices.

  • Agreewhy have 31,000+ scientists signed a petition DISAGREEING with man made GW, why are OTHER planets are experiencing GW, the sun is 6% hotter than 1000 years ago impact?, oceans account for 97% of "green house" gas - how much impact could does less than 3% really have? Do some research, I did, and I clearly started with the belief that we were the problem. Suzuki, Gore, and the politically directed and funded UN GW gang are the real problem.

  • I don't know why you are sending me this message? I said nothing about global warming.

I believe your comments should be directed

    somewhere else.

  • Geoffery Ballard Started Ballard Power

    Thomas Beck started SHEC

  • you da man

  • How can one respect someone that gets his "jollies" watching fruit flies makin' love.

    Quite funny that.

    Y'know.

  • Harper plain and simple is a disgraceful, butt kissing (G.W.) fat imbesol. Suzuki knows what he is talking about. The G8 nation talks are nothing but a sad freaking joke. John Baird should resign as he also profanes the place with his presence alone.

  • i agree...suzuki a smart man........whats scary is...so many dumb fuckers out there...with there head burried up there ass...in a state of denial.

  • PM Stephen Harper called the Kyoto accord a "socialist scheme" designed to suck money outof rich countries, .....Who is sucking the money from us now fat boy,and what have you done?

"I'm talking about the 'battle of Kyoto' — our campaign to block the job-killing, economy-destroying Kyoto accord.".....Who is job killing and economy destroying now fat boy?

it's based on "tentative and contradictory scientific evidence" and it focuses on carbon dioxide, which is "essential to life."...

    CRAZY? lol

  • Aarrrrrgghhh! What a fraud and hypocrite extra-ordinaire,he sure takes the cake, does he not?In one of his books he quotes some stats that are misleading to put it kindly,or to put it more bluntly, damnable outright lies.

  • At least when/if he tells a lie you know he means good. On the other hand, politicians and news broadcasters are the ones you should be bitching about, cause when they tell lies, they only wanna f**k you over.

  • What will all the alarmists do when the world is perfect? What new cause will be used to suck the money out of me to continue to enable their activist lifestyles? This is typical of the CBC or should I say "Bandwagon TV" I am willing to bet my so called carbon footprint is a lot less than Suzuki's, and no amount of taxation or off-setting carbon credits will change that fact. For crying out loud....try walking the walk, what a hippocrite.

  • well i think he has walked the walk. did u know he only produces one garbage bag at the end of the month??

  • Ask me how many times I have been on an airplane? Twice. How many times has Suzuki? Why all the globe-trotting when he could sit back at his computer located on oceanfront property in Juan De Fuca Straight (Which probably only the top 20% of Canadians could afford)and telecommute? You tube seems pretty effective don't you think?
