Well the term reploid is a form to call the robots in the series of megaman X and Megaman Zero but Zero like others say is not a reploid he is a original robot created by Dr.Willy.

@SantuXD6 Yes he's left handed. During gameplay when you use the Z-Saber, if you notice, that his first slash is with his left hand. Also, there's other proof that's he's left handed. But it doesn't really matter, cause Zero has Two Z-Sabers. Yet, another GIANT PLOT TWIST. Proof: In the manual for MegaMan Zero Collection, when you look at the summary for MegaMan Zero 2, the picture for the summary shows Zero holding TWO Z-Sabers.
@xGolbezx Yeah you're sorta right. Most of the time when video game characters are facing the right, they use there right hand first, but Zero used his left hand instead. Then again, sometimes he does use his right hand though.
Technically, he was an advanced robot. Reploids are the type of robots Dr. Cain produced in an attempt to recreate X's design. And he couldn't, so there's a good difference between X, Zero (who was based off of X's design), and the actual reploids.
@RockXIII just to let you know...dr. wily had no idea x was being created...so zero could not be based off of x's design...unless something happened in the series im not aware of...
I'm very fairly sure that there were several hints in the X series that Dr. Wily made Zero to destroy X. A big hint that he was made using X's blueprints was in Mega Man 7 when Bass ransacked Dr. Light's lab. Remember the RUSH design and something else was stolen.
Also, ever hear of Zantetsu on Rockman PM? He has such an understanding of the Mega Man universe it's amazing he didn't work on the games, and he says this is true, which leads me to think that info was released on this.
@RockXIII in my opinion zero is not a reploid (X based design like sigma), Dr. willy created him after he learned from his mistakes from bass which is exceptionally similar to MMX design so zero is an original robot Master from willy and the strongest of all.
He's not a mechaniloid either, he's a Robot Master. Mechaniloids are just unconscious machines. At most, they'd be to reploids what animals are to humans.
@Firionel87 Nope. Reploids were created after Dr. Cain discovered X; X himself was basically the template used to design them. Zero was found much later after reploids were created. He is a reploid in the sense that he does the same things a reploid can do (think on his own, make his own decisions, etc.) but in a literal sense he isn't a reploid at all but a Robot Master, with his serial number being DWN-∞. (Which also pegs him officially as a Wily-bot.)
Well, technically yes. :) A reploid is a type of android (human-like robot) that can make its own decisions, but a reploid is also what is the result of copying X's designs. Though, Dr. Cain was never able to fully replicate X's design. Neither X or Zero are technically reploids.

Both of which were the first "Next Generation" (not to be confused the with New generation ones like Axl) Robots after Megaman, Protoman, and all of the Classic series Robots. Replods were Dr. Cain's attempt at Replicating X's Technology. I think it was confirmed that Reploid was short for "Replicated-Mechaniloid."

@Dannyillo962 Zero and X were androids, not reploids. 'Reploid' was originally 'repliroid' which I guess is supposed to be short for 'replicated android'. Which is essentially what the reploids are. Which is why Zero and X had different aspects from every reploid in existence. They were the originals, and every reploid since 20XX has been reverse engineered from them.
Even more interesting? Galleons are Variant copies, which are Pantheon copies, which in turn are mass-produced copies of X.
@FukkitBukkit Your partially right, except you have to factor in that at the end of megaman xtreme 2, when that scientist dies, he says " zero, you are the strongest robot" refereing to them as "robots", also whn you fight against lumine at the end of X8, he also refers to them as " old style/model reploids". even when you begin to play X1 there are tons of refences to them being called reploids

If you want to get technical, by the time ZX came along many of the 'reploids' were actually cyborgs. The series are never very clear on much and a lot of the mythos is left to speculation. I don't want to start a fight. Just saying you can't really put X and Zero in the same class as reploids in general.

@SantuXD6 Yes he's left handed. During gameplay when you use the Z-Saber, if you notice, that his first slash is with his left hand. Also, there's other proof that's he's left handed. But it doesn't really matter, cause Zero has Two Z-Sabers. Yet, another GIANT PLOT TWIST. Proof: In the manual for MegaMan Zero Collection, when you look at the summary for MegaMan Zero 2, the picture for the summary shows Zero holding TWO Z-Sabers.

Technically, he was an advanced robot. Reploids are the type of robots Dr. Cain produced in an attempt to recreate X's design. And he couldn't, so there's a good difference between X, Zero (who was based off of X's design), and the actual reploids.

I'm very fairly sure that there were several hints in the X series that Dr. Wily made Zero to destroy X. A big hint that he was made using X's blueprints was in Mega Man 7 when Bass ransacked Dr. Light's lab. Remember the RUSH design and something else was stolen.
Also, ever hear of Zantetsu on Rockman PM? He has such an understanding of the Mega Man universe it's amazing he didn't work on the games, and he says this is true, which leads me to think that info was released on this.

@RockXIII in my opinion zero is not a reploid (X based design like sigma), Dr. willy created him after he learned from his mistakes from bass which is exceptionally similar to MMX design so zero is an original robot Master from willy and the strongest of all.

@Firionel87 Nope. Reploids were created after Dr. Cain discovered X; X himself was basically the template used to design them. Zero was found much later after reploids were created. He is a reploid in the sense that he does the same things a reploid can do (think on his own, make his own decisions, etc.) but in a literal sense he isn't a reploid at all but a Robot Master, with his serial number being DWN-∞. (Which also pegs him officially as a Wily-bot.)

Well, technically yes. :) A reploid is a type of android (human-like robot) that can make its own decisions, but a reploid is also what is the result of copying X's designs. Though, Dr. Cain was never able to fully replicate X's design. Neither X or Zero are technically reploids.

Both of which were the first "Next Generation" (not to be confused the with New generation ones like Axl) Robots after Megaman, Protoman, and all of the Classic series Robots. Replods were Dr. Cain's attempt at Replicating X's Technology. I think it was confirmed that Reploid was short for "Replicated-Mechaniloid."

Light sealed him away, Cain found him and basically borrowed his schematics and thus created the entire Reploid race. All the while, Zero was built by Wily to be the ultimate Robot Master (...or was he built from stolen X schematics?) to destroy MegaMan, ProtoMan and Bass cuz he hated em. Though that's what I read over what I know, it's open to interpretation.

carried on form my last post - zero was meant to destroy X but was found, beaten by sigma, and fixed to his liking before anything could happen and since X was a robot hidden from the world they couldnt base all the specs of future reploids on X when it started the world was already there, zero was found first also, but like in the end of X 3 everything would end once zero dies cuz zero is the ultimate reploid, people would search for his power, while X had a choice of his own has part human

@Dannyillo962 Zero and X were androids, not reploids. 'Reploid' was originally 'repliroid' which I guess is supposed to be short for 'replicated android'. Which is essentially what the reploids are. Which is why Zero and X had different aspects from every reploid in existence. They were the originals, and every reploid since 20XX has been reverse engineered from them.
Even more interesting? Galleons are Variant copies, which are Pantheon copies, which in turn are mass-produced copies of X.

@FukkitBukkit Your partially right, except you have to factor in that at the end of megaman xtreme 2, when that scientist dies, he says " zero, you are the strongest robot" refereing to them as "robots", also whn you fight against lumine at the end of X8, he also refers to them as " old style/model reploids". even when you begin to play X1 there are tons of refences to them being called reploids

@Dannyillo962 Androids ARE robots. I'm not trying to troll either, you know. However you look at it Light himself called X a robot, and every reploid after X1 was replicated using X's tech.
If you want to get technical, by the time ZX came along many of the 'reploids' were actually cyborgs. The series are never very clear on much and a lot of the mythos is left to speculation. I don't want to start a fight. Just saying you can't really put X and Zero in the same class as reploids in general.
