  • This Video Is usefull to learn the cast, but the cast itself is not very usefull because we can only do it when there is water behind you what is not always the case like for atlantic salmon fishing most of time behind you it's only rocks so, The best cast remains the false cast

  • @StcroixNick

Spey casting is useful to eliminate the need for false casting when changing direction which keeps the fly in the water longer, lessens fatigue, requires virtually no backcasting room and it can be done while standing on the bank with no water behind you. I use spey casting techniques all the time when I fish whether I'm in the water, in a boat or on the bank.

  • @jpflyfishing Yes If I can Master the Snap T it could be usefull, But it's a difficult cast for me, I fish the atlantic salmon a lot and In the river I Always false cast because I'm not able to make the snap-t. False casting is good too because i have a lot of backcasting room where i fish, and with the high current pool it's difficult to make the snap-t because my fly line goes down the river

  • @StcroixNick My Dvds break down every component of the casts and address concerns, misconceptions and common errors.

You might try setting your fly further upstream when using the snap t to give yourself a bit more time before the current takes your line downstream. This is a great technique for faster water, I'd love to work with ya if you're ever in the "neighborhood". Tight lines, JP

  • @jpflyfishing Yeah But I'm presently living in Quebec in Canada and I'm Only 16 years old So I don't think I could meet you for now but If you want To Fly fish for an atlantic salmon in My region Maybe we could meet.
