As far as this function is concerned, I think it's useless other than to just enter a bunch of random comments and hear half of it mispronounced.

You can do this all day with Speaktonia. You can also control pitch and speed.

It's fun hearing what the YouTube comments sound like. You just highlight, click 'Copy', and you can hear it.

It helps if you are visually impaired or are bad at spelling or grammar which might help with proofreading. I have a feeling that there could also be a screen reader on the way for the blind/visually impaired that might be implemented on Youtube in the future. There are CC implements that have showed up recently, it is possible that this is part of helping those with related disabilities who need it.

Actually I know of one blind person on youtube. She uses a computer voice program to 'read' all the comments, and listens to vlogs. If there are images or no voice she asks someone to describve whats going on in the video for her. So I doubt sahe would find this service of much use.
