  • Wtf if your just gunna comment that you hate gay people you obviously have no life ... Great video tho !!!:D

  • I completely agree about people being inapropriate at the pride parrade! And nobody ever agrees with me! Oh and a dragon with a flame thrower Really? psssh dragons already breath fire! lol im a dork!

  • ur a bottom for sure! lmao

  • so true! love that room. i dont know if its yours but hey its awesome. :)

  • everyone's so mean, hah. i think you're adorable.(:

  • way to state the obvious

  • i love gaay boys there too cute<3.

  • I understand where you're coming from but at the same time I wouldn't want to completely abolish our differences by striving to adhere to theirs.

  • I absolutely agree with you

  • love yaaa~!!

    i totally agree with youu!!

    yay yay!

  • joe you rock. nuff said. you just rock. :-)

  • @Jade1003 then ur GAY!!

  • i completely agree, I don't feel comfortable watching straight people mack out in public so I rather respect others by not.

  • Excuse me, but I noticed your comment and I was truly appalled by what you said.

    "HOMO"?

    Do you really have nothing better to do with your life than insult people for who they are?

    Does Joe go around and insult you because you're straight? I didn't think so.

    I guess you don't have enough brains to realize that this is the 21st century. Gays/Lesbians/Bisexuals live on the same planet as you. Get over it. We're all the same on the inside.

    Don't be a jerk.

  • HELLZ YEAH!

  • Agreed.

  • rock on thecityisatwarx! I totally second that comment!

    zzirRich45... the next time you want to leave a homophobic comment... why don't you show up at my place first so I can gouge your eyes out with spoons and gut you like a fish first...

    ...sorry to be so abrupt, but just wanted to let you know that the gays have more than just "pansey fairies" on their side, some of us will kick your f*ckin' ass!

  • good observation ur so smart!!

  • SAPIEN

  • Hope it dosen't rain this year, after all with this bitching rain in new york for the past 3 months & my graduation is that day!

  • you are really m effing adorable.

  • You're so definitely my favorite of the fiveawesomegays. Hands down.

    Say hello to the guineas for me! xxx

  • do gay people shave their legs?

  • Some of them- not all! Just like straight people.

  • you can't generalize.

    one gay person might and another one might not.

    some straight guys even shave their legs. (i've seen it done)

    and then there are some women who don't shave their legs.

  • Gay Pride for us English is around July and August, I totally agree with the hooking up thing, people really dnt know how to act, especially in Manchester, skanks! Our parades pretty much suck too lol, You'd think they'd but some kind of effort into it, they just seem to put balloons on a van and thats it!!

    Im just starting up vido blogging, messed around for my first one lol, nothing special but ceck it out n let me know wot u think!

  • Well of course it's going to rain when you wear a rain tshirt!

  • One...He is adorable. He could be my friend any day. Pride is a good thing if for no other reason to make people realize that the gay community exists whether they like it or not. But like he said...don't make everyone point and say...see they just want to hook-up and have sex with everyone...that's ALL they are about!! Great make friends, have a good time, but don't outdo yourself with outrageous behavior. Society will have to accept the gay community eventually...it's just really SLOW!!!

  • what would a dragon need a flame thrower for?

  • Dude pride is for hooking up and making friends. Yes, the gay pride flag is quite ugly.

  • i can't wait to go to pride :D love supporting my gays lol... um loved the flag idea; it really cracked me up!

  • Oh dear, I laughed when you were talking about redesigning the rainbow flag. XD

    Sometimes when the fan goes off on my laptop, I cover the speakers with my hands for a few seconds. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. :P

  • The way some behave at gatherings is a little embarrassing. I would like to gays and lesbians carry themselves with a tad bit more self-respect.

  • you are just ADORABLE. :-)

  • You're precious for recording this video. LOL

  • the rainbow flag is ugly as fuck x33

  • come to chicago!!!! i'll be there

  • You made a Stevie, Byiiie!

  • i didn't get to go to the pride parade here in austin :(

  • thanks God you think in that way, i do really hate when people thinks of the gay parade as a orgy or something like that.

  • Amazing point.

  • missile launcher haha

    I love your imagination.

    RESPECT&LOVE <3

  • OMG!! I love the flag it is friggen beautiful.great point about being respectful.while I do think that respect would mean being accepted by people no matter what your sexual orientation it is evident that acting "inappropriate" sometimes makes bigots hate and bash people with "alternative lifestyles" even more. I hate that phrase "alternative lifestyle".It's a nice way of saying "not natural/normal" I feel offended just hearing people say that.lol I kinda ranted.

  • joe- laptop fans start when the laptop reaches a certain temperature, which you can make sure it doesn't reach by elevating your laptop (i use four duplo blocks, one for each corner), so air can circulate and it won't overheat.

    love your videos! and this whole channel!

  • I totally agree with what you're saying about being respectful. Not portraying the stereotype that all homosexuals are promiscuous.

  • Good point, glad to hear someone else say it cause I always get bashed for mentioning any type of decorum or respectful image during pride. For some of the commenters that think pride isn't about activism and only about being proud around other GLBT people, Pride is more than that, especiall this year. It is yearly anniversary of the Stonewall riots which began the GLBT rights movement. So thank someone that may have been there for standing up, getting arrested and risking their lives.

  • like always i like your videos ;)

  • I got so distracted by all the comments, I forgot what your video was about...

    ~~~
    "Maybe that's not the right message to be sending..." Loves it! I'm totally sewing a dragon with a flame thrower onto my rainbow flag...Do you think I'll get beat up if I go to pride with that?
  • You are so skinny, you should eat more sweety.df
  • thank god finally someone who knows what i'm talking about!
    You don't have to be a slut to be gay!!!!
    You can be proud and classy.
  • I'm a 15yo girl and a grown man tried to start a fist fight with me in the street yesterday for having a gay flag pin on my bag.
    >_>
    Mhhmm. I think the whole respect thing rather than touting the festival as a place to score some promiscuous sex (and reinforcing a stereotype!) is the best way to conduct it. Not to say that people can't have fun along the way...
    I swear to Merlin's beard - the next person at school who calls an inanimate object 'gay' has to face me making Exorcist noises.
  • you should do videos 7 days a week and call it 7daysofgays
    =]]]]]
  • joe, I never noticed how nice your skin is! you go, girl!
  • it always seems to rain on the parade =\
  • its sad
  • I love how you totally said stevie's "byeee" and he sang a cute little song.<3
  • I agree about the respectful part! and i love the vloggy videos!!
  • i totally agree about
    acting respectful while
    still having a good time
  • joe.. dragons dont need flame throwers.. they can breathe fire!!!!!!!!
  • i have the same problem with my laptop's fan ugh is anoying
  • why would a dragon hold a flame thrower? It can make flames with its mouth..
  • i bet with all the talk about the flag tyler's going to do a video on the origin of the gay pride flag lol
  • GUINEAS! AAH!
  • Fix your fan... You live in Philadelphia so go to Springboard Media on 23rd and Walnut. Best place for Mac products an assistance.
  • I agree, people should be careful how they portray themselves at pride. Having fun is important. But we also want respect and therefore should act respectable.
    Much love!!
  • I love your lamp!
  • clean ur fan joe! or it will blow! ha
  • you are SO ADORABLE.
  • A dragon with a flamethrower seems redundant...
  • gonna have to go with the missle launcher then
  • LOOOL Indeed !
  • DUDE i was at disneyland today and there were sooooooo many gay couples boys and girls. was today like national bring ur partner the fucking disneyland day?
  • your point being?
  • Its hard to hear the guinea pigs with that fan, lol
  • You have guinea pigs? I love guinea pigs!
  • Equal....that's sweet
  • i thought it was my fan on my laptop and i spent the entire video putting my ear up to my laptop and holding it up in the air and blowing on it to cool it off
    and then i missed your whole video so i rewatched it and saw that it was your fan
  • I did that too. Don't worry.
  • I love the new flag ideas!
  • You started saying bye like Stevie!
  • ok...so you are so far past this bullshit. YOur entertaining vids are exactl on point.
  • i l ike all of the political whining.
  • I absolutely agree with you. I would like to march in a parade some day holding a sign that says, "See? We're not all shirtless or wearing go-go shorts." I've argued on many occasions with my room mate about this.
    But yeah like you said, my favorite parts are the men wearing business suits and stuff.
  • i agree with the hooking up. i know that gays just dont just go around having sucks but its ridiculous when they think they should just hook up...sorry that probably didnt make sense haha
    going to minneapolis gay pride parade :)))))
  • to turn off the fan take the battery out for a while and let it cool down
    when you put it back it'll shut up
  • I agree with joe. The pride events are celebrations and should be fun, but some seem to want to act like it's an orgy. You know it's always the guys in the gold sequined speedos and feathers that make the news. That isn't the image we want to project.
    On a lighter note, I like the "flaming" dragon flag idea! :-)
  • its raining here in dc again... :(
  • youre beautiful
  • haha im going to dc in june
  • pride isn't about other people. it iisn't about activism. it is about us. celebrating who we are. it is about coming together as one huge community for just one day a year. it is about giving those gay people who normally don't get to be around a lot of gays the chance to feel welcome and comfortable and like they aren't alone and to feel good about who they are. it's not about showing heterosexuals anything
  • Here here.
  • yes we must always, in every moment of our lives, act in a dignified and respectable manner. but we should never hide anything about who we are just to make other people feel more comfortable or to make them like us. they have to accept us as we are. all or nothing
  • i totally agree! im sick of ppl at pride asking if im a top or a bottom, thas not what its supposed to b about. And i much prefer the = sign flag than the rainbow [LoL]..... and the dragons kinda sendin the wrong message haha
  • I agree. Gay pride should be about showing people that that LGBT people are everyday people who show love and respect. Doing things in gay pride that makes some people uncomfortable isn't the right thing to do, especially because still so many LGBT people are discriminated around the world. That kind of behaviour by gays will only fuel the hatred against the helpless members of the LGBT community.
  • I think the whole rainbow thing helps fuel stereotypes, which is wrong IMO, I think it should be dropped. Equal sign? Yes. Maybe the new flag sign could be like:
    "guy""Guy"(holding hands)
    "girl""Girl" (holding hands)
    "guy in a dress"
    "Girl in man's clothes"
    They can all be standing side by side on the flag, and the background could be just white.
  • I think that was a really good way to put things, very well thought response. It's fine to go out and have a good time as long as you're responsible about it. That totally makes me sound like an old lady, but it's about not misrepresenting the community to those who are looking for an excuse to make generalized criticisms based on the behavior of just a few rowdy parade go-ers.
  • I guess what matters is that maybe a small percentage would be affected, and both close-mindedness and open-mindedness tend to have a butterfly effect. So that small percentage could eventually spread to make a great difference in the level of acceptance in our country.
    I do hope, pray and think that I will live to see the day that the LGBT community has equal rights. You're getting there!
  • Very thoughtful video, Joe. I guess I had never thought of it that way. I'm not gay but have always been supportive of the gay community and to me, from the outside, it just seems like a fun, debaucherous, crazy time, which is my kinda fun. But you make a great point, that it probably does stand to further the negative opinions of those who negatively stereotype those who are LGBT.
    Then again, if everyone marched fully clothed and in their proper roles, would the close-minded stay that way?
  • wouldn't a dragon just, ya know, breathe fire? instead paying for an expensive flamethrower.
  • I completely agree with you and think it's great that you have the courage to say that.
  • The pride flag should be Lara Croft ...
    she is all about the pride.
    Cos you know she is a lesbian.  She hunts ancient rocks, and kills lots of men.
  • i totally agree with you!!!
  • I completely agree with you. Gay Pride I feel should e something taken a bit more seriously because we are not yet accepted - not to say if were were accepted we could go nuts. It's just to say that since we're fighting for equality, going crazy at a festival is not going to be a good way to get people to take us seriously. However, lol, I would love to go to one so I can just say that I've been to one. I live ten minutes from Louisville - any other ideas of a good Pride spot?
  • yeah, if we act all stupid and obx they will think we ALL are.
  • I'm so glad what you said about the flag. I'm not big on rainbows either, but love the equal sign.
    I thought I was being a bad gay!! lol
    And no, you're not a prude. I agree with you on the respectful behavior, too.
  • thats exactly why i dont go to pride. ever.
    the homo's there give us a bad rep
  • I do agree with you that we should "behave" a bit at Pride celebrations, but I don't believe we should be worried too much about appearing "normal" for the haters. The "hide the drag queens" attitude is just wrong. But topless lesbian bikers of boys in thongs are a bit much (but shirtless boys is certainly fine in my book). :)
  • ur so queer it hurts. hahahahahaahahahahahha
  • I don't think ppl should be proud of being gay (I'm not), since there is no choice involved, it's like being proud of being blonde... But if you think about it, we don't choose anything, all our desicions are dictated by a mixture of our personal history, our genes and the society we live in, so... pride is a bad feeling, no one should be proud of anything... hmmm hahaha
  • I think you have low self-esteem. Pride's only bad if you're THAT religious. But to each their own. kudos.
  • I agree, boogiebootique. xD I don't like the word "pride", I see it as a negative word. We should just be fine with who we are instead of proud.
    I still go to pride though... lmao
  • We should always be proud of who we are.
  • You're right of course. You can't be proud of something you had no control over. But the parade is less about that and more, I think, about being proud that we have grown stronger, despite the contempt others have had for us. It also serves as a reminder, to an extent, to heterosexuals that we are here and are not to be overlooked.
  • i believe that these parades seem to place the gay community farther away from the majority. Your just putting yourselfs out in the open to be deemed as different, and being different you become inferior in todays world(not how i like it but thats how it is.) Be what you want, but dont scream that your different then bitch when people notice.
  • Being different makes you inferior?
    Hmmm, must've missed that.
    I give a lot of respect to those who are different.
  • well the majority of the world disagrees with you, look at the history.
  • Explain.
  • last time i checked racism was a major focal point of the last 100 years. The world is split into factions, and they dont get along. Look in the middle east; the shiite and sunni cant even look at eachother. Its the way it is unfortunately, and when you proclaim your sunni in a shiite neighborhood, you get blown up. Thats all there is too it.
  • Never been to pride, and I'm not sure how well I'd like it for many of the reasons you mentioned. I still think I'm going to go one year and see what it's like though (just probably not this year)
    And I agree about the "being in a large group of people" thing. I went to a rally at the state capitol a couple months back where I was surrounded by 100+ LGBTQ people and supporters... one of the best experiences of my life.
    oh, and I would totally fly that dragon flag!
  • A dragon holding a Flame thrower? or Flamer Thrower? HaHaHa. Missle thrower, too much innuendo! I like the idea of it having a duck! A big gay, yellow duck with a nice pompadour! Or a tiger with colored stripes! Or we can ditch the flag and all get the same tattoo!
  • ha, when you said, "flame thrower"... I got this image... nevermind.. ahaha
    but I love what you said about conducting yourself in a respectful way out in public. I hate when anyone is ignorant or just acts in a way that makes them seem unintelligent.
  • My favorite part about pride is the drag queens' shows. They are the best.
  • Aren't Joe and Stevie having their one year anniversary this year?
    Yay!
    We want a collab-celebration video.
    Yay!
    Please?
  • yes, it's soon! i'm surprised anyone knew lol.
  • Oops, I mean month, not year.
  • lol@u
  • How about a mermaid with a flamethrower?
  • I am from Washington state, and in portland, they tend to do the gay pride parade on Fathers Day. It seems like someones planning is a little off to me. I am sorry but could someone explain WHY it is on fathersday?
  • i agree with you!
  • lol at you straight people who leave comments on gay videos. Don't you know that's what turns you gay?
  • My best friend is straight but she is very supportive of the gay community....
    Btw, nobody is "turned" gay.
  • HaHaHa, I thought it was My Big Gay Dad! (MadTv allusion)
  • LOL at you straights?
  • Start whatever fund you wish.
    And I am going to start collectingk money to find a cure for stupidity.
  • Well then, a cure for bigotry.
  • I guess you are an IDIOT 4 LIFE too huh?
    btw happy pride!!
  • A) I'm not a homosexual. Use the brain that I know you have as you are typing.
    B) Adam and Eve exsisted to pro-create and keep God company, genius.
    C) Why the hell are you watching videos on 5awesomegays? If you're going to be an asshole, do it where people agree at least with you.
  • what point where you trying to make with this? I cant see it
  • lulz, strayt4lyfe
  • you're a dunb fuck
  • God created Adam and Eve? That's funny...I thought God created EVERYONE! I love how you invoke God's name into your argument by bringing up Adam and Eve, a god who is a God of love (See John 3:16 if you want to dispute that), and then make the message full of nothing but hate. I'm sure your God appreciates the image you're setting forth in his name.
  • lol @ the description, i spose im the lucky few that always reads it & GUINEA PIGS!!!! they should make a cameo appearance sum day ^_^
  • lol ur flag idea makes me chuckle X3
    ooooo guinea pigs?? i wanna see them!!
  • I didn't hear the Guinea pigs at all. :(
  • I couldn't hear them over the laptop fan, myself.
  • I agree,pride parades(or as I like to call them,"pridades"!),
    Should be a celebration of who we are,and show everyone who we are,
    And in that respect,it should not just be an oppurtunity to hook up with random people.
  • I agree. Pride can bring out quite a few exhibitionists.
  • Ooh! In that case, can the peace movement get the rainbow flag back? And then you can have the equals sign or the dragon or what ever you want!
  • pretty sure the *flag* itself was invented by queers for queers (and straight allies) -- each stripe has specific meaning and whatnot.
    but, you know, rainbows in a general sense kind of belong to everybody, so have at it.
  • Nope, Peace movement started using it in 1961, LGBT movement started using it in 1978.... but really European reformers and Incas were using it hundreds of years before that, so the peace movement can't really stake first claim either :-)
  • Your flag idea seems like a win.
  • don't you have a macbook? google "fan control mac".
  • So what you're saying is...your idea of a pride flag celebrates TROGDOR the Burninator.
  • that seemed like a Stevie Byiiie that you ended your video with. Nice try Joe.
  • Pride has really turned into one big porn commercial :-\
  • couldn't agree more.
  • i've definitely heard before that pride festivals can have some people that are kind of...abrasive.
    but i mean, that sort of thing happens at any public event, so i think it's more just that people in crowds tend to get a little too crazy.
    still, i think i'll end up going to pride festival with some gay friends because i'm sure it'd be fun, and even though there will be SOME people getting a little out of control, it's important for people to show support, even straight "allies" like me. :P
  • Well i prefer your flag!! lol
  • i know a lot of people that say that gay people are "crazy sex fiends" and its kinda annoying because first of all, that's not true for a lot of gay people and second of all, the same thing goes for a lot of straight people but they all deny it. just like some straight people love to have sex, so do some gay people. one of my close friends does, but on the other hand that's not what it's all about for me. i just want to be loved and cared about by someone who i love and care about also.
  • I COMPLETELY agree with you. I'm not going to any Pride parades this year, because I don't want to be associated with the outrageous and obnoxious activities that I've seen happen at previous ones. How are people supposed to respect us when they see half-naked people causing chaos? Save it for the gay bars...
  • Joe, I think your dragon flame-thrower flag idea is beyond Awesome
  • It didn't rain on DC pride this year!!! it was somewhat decent, except for the SW Airlines float...i got knocked in the head wirh a pack of nuts!
  • are you correct, sir.
  • if they get too hungry one will eat the other. survival dude
  • Well..as this is a forum for what people think....
    I THINK...Pride is a great opportunity for EVERYONE to SUPPORT one another and get to BE THEMSELVES...the whole point of pride is to represent the DIVERSITY of the queer community.
    We are all HUMAN, some who are crazy, some who are loud, some who are quiet, some who are thoughtful.
    Your sexuality and your identification within the queer community doesn't make you automatically a "good person".
    If you don't have manners or respect........
  • Awesome video Joe. I've never been to a Pride Parade myself but I am so gonna have to go to the next Dublin one, it would be an experience.
    I don't have any issues with the rainbow flag, i think its kinda kool lol!
