Its a good idea and not a bad looking product but I have spent 20 years in the freight industry and your weak link is your locking mechanism, its cast so it will crack if its put under pressure. I have seen many load bars in my years and the cast ones will always fail eventually. Replace the cast with molded/pressed pieces and your product will be bullet proof.

Invest in the Ultimate Lock and save the trouble of doing that. Looks clean plus holds 4k of force as tested by NASA and less than 200 bucks
