  • Hi, I have a 1999 Nissan Maxima and the fan is stuck on high. I suspect that resistor is bad on the fan motor. Do you carry this part and if so how much?

  • @jackchn23 We do sell new blower motor resistors for your 99 Nissan Maxima. Here's a link to them on our website. Hope this helps you out.

  • is there a video showing how to replace my 2001 Tundras heater motor???

  • @jacob84678 We currently do not have a video of this particular repair. However it should be located on the passenger side of the vehicle under the glove box, and there should be three bolts that hold it in place. We have the replacement ones available on our website 1aauto.com Here's a link to them on our website. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com/1A/BlowerMotor/Toyota/Tundra/1AHCX00174/369907/2001?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony

  • Is there a video that shows me how to replace my 2004 Avalanche A/C Blower Motor Resistor?

  • @bluesailor76 We currently do not have a video of this particular repair. We'll keep this in mind when doing any future repairs on this vehicle.

  • This video gave me the confidence to do this repair myself. It was quick, easy, and saved me time and money. Very grateful!

  • on a 2000 do you have to remove the blower motor to get to the resistor?

  • @eibbes You should be able to just remove the blower motor resistor.

  • good job on that i did mine in 35 minutes never did it before.thank you so much.

  • I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY CAVERLIER AND THE SWITCH THAT CONTROLS THE HEAT SETTING FROM LOW TO HIGH IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY . IT ONLY WORKS ON HIGH SETTING

  • @hp11208 It should be the blower motor resistor that has gone bad. We have them available of our website for your vehicle. Here's a link to them. 1aauto.com/1A/BlowerMotorResistor/Chevy/Cavalier/1AACD00017?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony

  • @1aauto I dont have a cavalier or sunfire I have a hyundai sonata and the blower is not turning on I hear a click when I turn the knob so it sounds like power is being sent to it but it dose not turn on would that be the blower or the resistor I checked the fuse and that is ok.

  • @STRIKER520 It could be the blower motor resistor. Usually you will start to loose the different speed settings when they start to go.

  • i need to replace a blower switch on a 2000 cavelier is that the same.

  • @hp11208 Yes the procedure would be the same.

  • Thanks for this, you have some very helpful videos, this and the ac compressor bypass pulley videos for the cavaliers surly will help me out this week as im doing these repairs..

  • I hear my heater and AC kick on but the fan will start then come to a stop...if I replace my blower motor resistor will that fix that problem also? I have a 2002 chevy malibu

  • @vrsaysso It may. It could be something heating up in one of those two components.

  • Thanks. I needed to replace the resistor on my sunfire 2000. The only difference is that the motor has its own cover and you have to remove the motor before getting to the resistor. As suspected, it was corroded and once replaced it worked fine. Thanks again.

  • is that a 7 mm and 6 mm socket wrench?

  • @PatsFan1975 It should be a 6MM Socket, that's needed to remove the bolts.

  • @godzilla138 Hi I have a 2003 Sunfire as well and I need to take out the blower motor and I looked and it does not have bolts around it like the one in the video. Could you explain a bit more how you got yours out? Thanks.

  • So, I have gone through 2 new blower motors. They keep burning up. Is it the resistor that is causing this problem?!

  • LOL, would it not be simpler to remove the front seat from the vehicle first? I mean, it's only 4 nuts. That way you could lay flat on your back without having to arch and squish yourself onto the front seat (just don't lay on the seat studs). Just a thought - great video though - i think this is the problem i have! Will have to order the resistor.

  • i had back pain for a week after removing mine lol probably didnt help im 6' 4". I took it out by laying with my back on the floor, feet in the air and head under the dash haha

  • @usaknifenut LOL, yep, stretch first.

  • It's a little different in my wife's 97 Cavalier, but this video really helped. Now it blows air on all settings and not just 3 and 4. I didn't reinstalling the bolt closest to the firewall on the resistor; it was a P.I.T.A. to get off.

  • im about to tackle that same problem on my 2000 cavalier but none of the fan speed settings are working so i hope its just the resistor the compressor works the ac line under the hood gets ice cold but no air comes out the vents so its ether blower motor or resistor im starting with the cheaper one first

  • Your not alone in this dilemma. As you can see from the video, the back screw which you can bareley get to requires a joint wrench. I was about to break mine out of my 02 Cavalier also but instead decided to just leave the old one in and tuck the new one up between the blower motor housing ad the back of the glove box. After seeing this video I now know what tool I'm after in property replacing it. Thank you A1 Auto!!! Great Video. Keep em coming!

  • @douginri Some of these projects can be a little tricky. I'm glad we could help out.

  • ok I have a 00 cavalier and im doing this right now I got one bolt out but I can't seem to find the other one... well I found it but it is impossible to get the other one out.. it is covered in plastic like the whole protective shield I can get my finger back there but not my screwdriver

  • THANK YOU!!! '02 Cavalier - changed it myself (you NEED a flexible ratchet part).

  • It seems that removing the blower motor would make removing the resistor easier? Thanks for the help!

  • @Juliemn214 Yes it is easier to remove the blower motor. That is what I did. I put a new resistor in and tested the blower motor when it was out. The blower motor works fine. Fuses are good. The thing still doesn't work.

Any ideas of where to go from here?????

  • i have a 02 cavi and i have a prob with the windows foging up what can would be makeing them fog up like that and my rer deforst dosnt work eather the light on the control turns on and the fuse is fine what els could be the prob for that

  • @dragonsage2008 Windows fogging up means yourcar is damp inside. You may have a leak somewhere. The rear defog is like the old christmas tree lights, if you have a deep enough scratch somewhere on the window grid the whole thing may not work, so check for a scratch.

  • @1aauto ok thanks and so with the foging up part lets say if my one window dosnt sell all the way up i just realy need to make sure to do something to sell that back up and i should be fine then

  • @dragonsage2008 Stop the leak then dry the interior out. You will still get fogging as long as the carpet and stuff are damp. Once the weather warms up leave the car with the windows open and even the doors open if you can to let it dry out.

  • Hey, great video, thanks for helping to get this fixed. I got speeds 1 & 2 working by replacing the resistor. I hate the nutcase who designed the location of this unit in the Pontiac Sunfire GT 2001. I had to remove the entire blower motor to get to the resistor and then that pesky resistor screw. Breaking it out one piece at a time worked. I fixed the new resistor in and kinda left that screws out. Checked to ensure there was no movement of the new resistor before fixing the motor back.

  • i have a pontiac grand prix gt 1987 1st it started working fine then only 4, n 5 speeds worked then suddenly nutting work when u turn the AC i can hear the compressor running but no air now will it be the resistor or the whole blower motor im broke to take it n fix it n with this cold rainy days is hard the window gets foggy soo any help thnx preciated

  • @DJSICKSKILLZ If you lost speeds first then most likely it is your resistor. You can follow the link in the video description to purchase one on our site. Thank You.

  • thank you to solve my prb
