i guess i wrote about sparklers.. im actually not sure if they use magnesium in denmark.. but bano3, aluminium and iron.. and then probably some other metal fuel.. that makes the aluminium unusable for flashpowder..
zinc burning is so freaking bright, you can't really feel it through a video though. It would easily blind one who's staring at this experiment without special goggles

Iron can be used as well as aluminum, steel and magnesium. Like you said, I think it just depends on the brand.
