@Nickv480 I made this for people who are semi-familiar with the interface of Sony Vegas. I suggest that you search for an interface tutorial before you watch this. But some of the buttons are pretty easy to find out what they do just by what they say on them.

I figured that since some people were confused about what "feathering" does, then I though that I should explain.

Feathering is used to soften the edges around the clip to give a smoother appearance and usually to make a clip fit in better with other clips. If you want, you can look it up on Google for more information.

Good tutorial. Masking is only AVAILABLE on Sony Vegas Pro 8, 9 and 10. Sony Vegas STUDIO does not have MASKING.... Sony Vegas Pro is around $500 while Sony Vegas STUDIO is less than $100. If you want the MASK buy the SONY VEGAS Pro 10.

Please help. I was just trying to mask out myself, so masked all around me, but when i had been all around the picture, and was about to combine my the end of the mask path, with the start, it wouldn't! Apparently, i accidentally, mad two mask paths! So do you think i can combine those to mask paths with each other? Yours Mortan :)

@Mortan95 Sounds like something weird happened in the process that you did. But what i would suggest is just retry the mask path. But what you could've done is put two masks on one layer and that could be your problem. And if that's what you did then remember to make only one mask per copy of the clip.

@iamaventriloquist if you have a lot of masking effects on your movie then there's a good chance, if you only have an OK computer like me, that it's going to be choppy when you preview it but once you render it then it should be smooth
