You know, we all seem to have accepted the fact that multiplayer games bring out the worst in people, but I almost never see people asking why.
Do these douchebags actually get some sense of gratification from doing what Level1Slime said? Is it fun? I honestly could not see how wasting your time learning all this shit could become satisfying. You're not even working for your kills when you do this! Would it not be more fun to work on brushing up your skills so you can pwn people legitimately?
The best thing are CTF game types where people don't capture the flag at all because they wanna kill each other for forever to up their K/D ratios. It's the best thing to grief the fuck out of them and cap the point constantly.
Hey Chip, look on the bright side...Uncharted 2 has time limits.
I once spent almost an hour in a Gears 2 match that would NOT end because some jackasses were defending uncaptured objectives. Whenever we managed to kill them we'd actually get a fairly significant lead, just before they'd hoard every power weapon on the map to stomp on us for another ten minutes.
After that, I've always preferred games that don't have weapons strewn across their maps in fixed locations. It's really unfortunate.
I can't tell if it's multiplayer "perks" or the collision detection that's to blame for these tactics. It looks like aua20101989 has one that gives better line of sight. It also seems like these guys spent a great deal of time getting down respawn times and goes for reactionary actions from other players. It's a science to people who have played the game almost religiously, as for those who don't master the game move onto Uncharted 3, and only the "Pros" will occupy Uncharted 2.
that's why I played the UC3 co-op scenarios and just put the game in my shelf for good... please chip make a sort of LP clan and let's show those guys that we hand over their asses and play fair while doing it.
Man, all those "pro strategies" remind me of something my sister said. Apparently people in Rainbow Six Vegas (or something) will draw a little dot in the middle of their TVs because it doesn't have a targeting reticle in multiplayer. That way thy don't have to try to work to aim at all.
Reminds me of Metal Gear Online with it's annoying 'boxhopping' strategies and such.
I mean ok, it's not unfair, per se, but it just makes it tedious because all you end up seeing are try-hards who do it all the time, and then you have to do it too unless you enjoy dying a lot.
Theres also a limit on cash per round 50,000 I think, and its really only possible in co-op or plunder which is why this mode is used (plus plunder rounds last shorter than co-op), the reason why player use to grind xp is because the devs thought it was a challenge for players to get to level 80 ($362,965,500) which is almost impossible but rewards with 2 multiplayer skins.
Most players do the strategy of killing instead of capping in plunder because it has no limit on kills/death so they use it as a way to boost quickly through medals (usually with badge of honor medal as for every 10 kills they get 20/25 thousand and with deposit so at the end when they cap they double the cash to 8000 per cap and get 10,000 for a perfect win), this combined with the limited spawn locations and the buggy skeleton hit boxes makes this a nightmare for most players.
I wish I was enough of a massive goddamn nerd to obsessively memorize every stupid spawnpoint and death timer in a videogame so I could be all "Teehee that person died now I have 5.3 seconds to get to spawnpoint 3B so I can throw a grenade at the ground 2.5 feet from the eastern wall so they die 0.5 seconds after respawn, 2 more dollars for me!"
