Thanks again for this video. I will do what you said. Another pool hall junkie (but almost at a pro level) coached me and said I needed to make sure I look at the object ball last, and not the cue ball. In my first tournament since trying these techniques, I played three A players (I am only a C), and in 10 to 5 races, I beat the first two 5 to 4, but lost third - but for me, I was in such awe that something so small, along w/confidence, helped me out. Thanks again. God bless from the A-T-L
hmmm i dont think this is a diamond but thats definitely some new fast cloth and the pockets are not very big, and this drill kicks my ass thanks for posting it helps me get warmed up.
This is an incredibly difficult drill and he did it amazingly well.
As far as Inhamslinger goes he needs to go back to video pool and not even watch real pool players. Just some bar room trash talker that could not even hold Hohmanns cue without dropping it.
for the people that critisize this video i would love them to make a video doing this drill or some other dificult drills, cause i have tried some of these drills and i know how hard they are to complete them succesfully.some people on the internet need to stop being so harsh in videos cause they are so annoying for the uploader.
try it on a shimmed table...a triple shimmed table..that what i drill on..im not knocking the video by all means...but if you shim a table up it will make your shots more accurate ...good vid tho
Thanks forthis video. I play in the APA and we had a 170 person tournament yesterday. I made it to the top 32, but the one thing I did wrong was that I missed nearly every straight in shot with length (i.e. cue is 3 feet from the ball, object ball is 3 feet from the pocket). The only thing that took me that far was my safe. I will definitely use this drill at Mr. Cues.
@blessedteddybear Try hitting the cue ball softly with follow, but hte real trick to is is being very precise about hitting the cue ball in the (top) center (i.e. no accidental left or right english). it's the simpilist of shots if you're hitting the cue in the right spot.
ProPoolVideo's, et.al. if I am not mistaken, the table being played on is a Brunswick Gold Crown with regulation tournament specs; meaning they have the same size pockets as the Diamond's true statement?
@ProPoolVideos - This a Brunswick Gold Crown with 860 Simonis. To answer Insmstranger's comment... The 15 Ball would have dropped even on a Diamond Professional with the low angle and slower than "pocket speed" shots. The difference in pocket size between the Diamond and most Gold Crowns is probably about 1/8". Good job Thorsten!
That's a pretty tough table to play on - it's all about pocket speed. If a banger does these shots they'll rattle in the jaws.
That room appears to be the "Pool School Germany" room where our pro athletes get personalized practice. It's a Gold Crown IV or Dynamic II which is played in most EBPF tournaments.
The cue ball ends in exactly the same spot every time!

thorsten: really bro? really gotta do this? I'm bored

That was impressive. Notice how the cue ball travels nearly the same distance on every shot... Another testament to the consistency of his stroke.

This drill is excessively difficult. And I think our friend Thorsten didn't exactly succeed at it. He shots the 12-ball 2 times in a row!

I could do that...

What some huge pockets. Example: watch the 15 ball hit the 2nd diamond and still go, no problem... Now try it on a diamond.
lnsmstranger 1 year ago
@lnsmstranger
well, first of all: its a diamond with 860 simonis cloth, 4 1/2 inch pockets.
second, its a very new cloth and balls are shot from a low angle.
but what about you, id like to see you shoot those 15 balls within the first try as thorsten did. post a video.

@ProPoolVideos Looks like a Brunswick to me. But I'm not taking anything away from the table, definitely new cloth and tight pockets

LOL
That would have gone in on a Diamond too.
Pocket speed and he hit the #2 diamond barely at a slight angle.

beautifull table.. I know the drill differently though: you get ball in hand at first and you got to keep the cueball behind the balls.
kolaas2006 2 years ago
that's a different drill. this one works on cuing since the cue is against the rail, not on position.
stevesp101 2 years ago
Thats the other variation for draw shots i think
lestancy 2 years ago
Very difficult exercise since he places the cueball against the rail...
