All the Youtube experts - lol, this guy did it himself and saved a shitload on labor and ya, you should have done the electrical to because that's the easy part. Good job man.
Oh man you have got to come up with a name for your self. these clips are all to funny. Something like "Bill, the I do know it all building builder". I think I'm gonna put clips of you doing work in my safety videos, if I was gonna make one. Keep the camera rolling Bill the Building Builder.
@Daldi, thanks for the post ... great video you have about German construction there. Looks like one could drive a Semi-Truck across one of their roofs; they look so strong.
I'am working on a project myself right now, i'am adding a 12x12 room on the back of my house and doing it all myself. I might be a little slow but i can tell you one thing ,,it's done right. As a matter of fact i might be putting a little to much work into it then needed but thats ok i know it will last and i like doing it. i was just browsing videos getting ideas and such for my project and ran across this one, thanks for posting it and take care,Rob
i wouldnt hold a power saw in my crotch like that. especially while sitting on a half ass frame lol. ur saving money but u could lose something far more valuable if u know what i mean.
i got to see this guy do the rough plumbing and electrical. You know he is going to try at least. lol I feel bad for you. You will get ripped apart for posting this stuff on youtube.
Actually I did both rough and finish plumbing ... and I saved a butt load of money doing it myself. The electrical I hired a licensed electrician to keep the project moving ... but I would have done better job than he did. Just the same, house has been finished for 6 years now ... no leaks, no cloggs, and no fires
sometimes u have to do things by yourself, to either get them done or to save money, but this is be dangerous, the way he is working and should never be done.
cut your plate back 3 and 5/8 and you wont have to crawl up there expect to tie the corner together. Also, one man can raise a presheeted wall with wall jacks
but this guys got many basics to learn yet... but its funny anyway...ha haw
wow!!!! you actually need at least 2 guys to frame a house unless you want a 2 month project to turn into a 10 year project.you have a saw horse on the job as a ladder.and you sit on the wall to make a cut on the plates.lol well good luck
Ive thought of ways to committe suicide..but this would be a fun way to end it all,,,please could you make some more videos like cake making for women who want to committe suicide
dont fart in that shitbox!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dude i hope you dont do this for a living!!!!!! If some of my elder union journeyman builders saw your use of a saw they would shoot you
hah, I don't know where to begin. You have so many basic jobsite safety violations it's not even funny. Think about your kid you fucking douchebag, one day you will fall off that shitty-framed wall and bash your skull into the concrete or get your foot mangled or hand cut off by your awesome table saw, and your kid has to live with it. IDIOT.
lol awesome video dont worry your not the only tradesmen that has worked dangerously... every tradesmens work dangerously every now and then.. because they can't be bothered to do it the correct way, which will take up to much time, and time is money.. but its best not to make it a habit of working dangerously but we all do it.. no one is safe every single time. I should know, Ive seen every tradesmen work dangerously on jobs sites, even with the safety regs. ;)
just a little hint. when you notch in your rack braces, stay back about a foot. notch through both top plates, and flush cut the brace with the top plate. let the bottom fall about a quarter inch short of flush to allow for differences in the floor. another f.y.i. heros die young!!! get some friends cowboy!!! you definitely have balls though.
I see that Americans has a particular ilness of buildind houses with wood. We must teach them other solutions such as concrete and steel framing. I feel sad, when i see those houses being destroyed by fire, being torn down by storms! Imagine if the houses in New Orleans were solid concrete, or framed with steel... :Lives could be saved. Just think about it for one second. Realize that you are sleeping in danger. Your house is combustible... I wish the day americans will pay attention to this.
Yes, building concrete block houses and steel frame structures stops flood waters from destroying your home. Guess you've never heard of brick either...
Brick is another solution. However, the way it is used in American houses is fragile. Actually, if you pay attention you'll see that brick is used on the enveleop process. That does not avoid storm from causing damage. This method is even dangerous on tall buildings, especially for the people down on the sidewalk. The ideal is not to build with wood and cover it with brick, but to build your entire structure with brick; a solid house...
no life isn't easy but when you get to the roof and you are still alone try using a V-Line made especially for people who likes to do thing's their self, tags are vline demo
Some of these people should remember that sometimes you don't see everything in a picture & when you open your mouth it sure shows you don't know everything even though you act like you do.
I nailed the corner of that wall section ahead of time w/ a diagonal peice to brace the corner. I had it all square and nice ... BUT, there was actually a little bump in the foundation at that corner, and that's why things didn't fit right. That was the most trouble I had w/ any of the walls, and as luck would have it, it was the one I filmed.
you cut your bottem and top plates too long nothing to do with the foundation< un less you poured the slab urself and it was about 20mm out of level looks like you cut a good 5-10mm off the plate
@jdat747 you cut your bottem and top plates too long nothing to do with the foundation< un less you poured the slab urself and it was about 20mm out of level looks like you cut a good 5-10mm off the plate
you thought that cutting the wall plate away from the other would fix the problem of the wall being too high??....you may be the one that's "too high"
Hey mate I was expecting to see you cut through your leg our loose your arm. Now that would make it more interesting, seeing you get down. But still kept me interested though.
I had built some smaller structures before, but pretty much with this house, I just went out and did it. I often got stuff wrong the first time and had to redo, as you will see in future videos that I post.
Just curious, when you spilt your head open or sever a limb, are you going to go to the hospital? ... or save "butt load of money doing it" yourself?
