  • I just got an mpc 1000 for christmas and it has jjos3

all the butttons are pretty good when it comes to timing but when i press record and record a beat, it's delayed or off timing. what do i do to make recording easier?

  • Hi! Im getting an mpc VERY soon, I found, JJ os 1 4.99, but how do you install it on the mpc?

  • Thaks for taking the time to do this ^_^

  • so the mpc comes with loaded samples already on it but you said they dont make noise?

  • @MrRamses2 I read somewhere that is the (secturity) feature that the maker addedto keep people from using it unless they (paid) that's normal, you have to supply the key that was sent to you when you got it....

  • @calanno I went to the Akai site in support I think and they have a .pdf that has the info comprising all....

  • Bout time I found a video that gave the info I been searching for "right on" poster \,,,/

  • memory card?

  • I just uploaded jjos1....its asking for a pass code??...is this normal?

  • Great vid; thanks for sharing the info!

  • How do I install JJ OS? - I says hold down window and turn on - Then it starts to load and says I dont have the right file?

  • carlo rossiiiiii, perfect mpc inspiration potion

  • Whats the biggest differences between the mpc 500 and mpc 1000?

  • I looked for that operating sys JS 101, on thier site and couldnt find it, Im new to mpc 1000, Im trying to learn how to chop the samples and then assign them to pad,Id appeciate ur help, thanx

  • what do you need to record samples from a record to the mpc and how do you do it? please.

  • Where did you download jj os 4.99?

  • @martinimagic007 From there website.

  • @onelonedork hey i was wondering, do you need to download os 3.12 before you download 4.99. or does it not matter? thanks alot for the help

  • can i put wav finles on mpc? u said on jj os , you can make a sound? like how

  • @hallal55 yes you can put wav files on your mpc, you'll need a hard drive or a Compact flash to store them. You can't make sounds you CAN load samples. If you have JJ OS 2xl you could record static and use that as a modulation wave form but that is beyond the scope of this tutorial.

  • @onelonedork oh okay!

im just confused on this mpc and the new maschine.... know diff?

also if your familiar with motif es6 or roland fantom x6? aren't those workstations also samplers...what are pros of an mpc that the motif and roland doesn't have ( roland has pads like mpc)

does the mpc have better seqeuncer, or faster workflow??

    thanks!

  • @hallal55 Its all your personal preference. The maschine is computer based.

  • hey, idk why, but i recently feel like making music. i am absolutely clueless about how to start. all i know is that i have a piano keyboard. i recently heard a piano song that i think would be pretty nice if i add so hip hop in it. how do i do this? what do i need? is there something that can add sounds or change the sounds to a song? eventually i want to work my way up to creating my own piano song that i can edit/remix.

    thanks

  • do you know if the mpc500 has anything preloaded on it? dont know if im not getting it or if it is just blank.

  • @gphn13 no idea, never used an mpc500.

  • hey man, I can really use some help I just Got a mpc1000 and upload JJ OS1 it and it works find but I cant hear the four counts when recording? can you help me out?please.

  • is it safe to buy a ebay version of 128 ram , i know the cheaper ram is not the akai version. Is it safe for MPC1000?

  • @djMHN Yes.

  • @onelonedork So if I bought the MPC I could not simply use it to combine simple sound to construct an original instrumental??? Does it come w/ anything???

  • I GET A DIRECTORY ERROR WHEN I TRY TO SAVE MY TRCKS. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG . I SELECT THE SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY. AND IT RUNS THROUGH SOME THINGS THEN BEFORE IT FINISHES IT SAYS DIRECTORY ERROR! I AM TRYING TO SAVE A BEAT IN A PROGRAM BECAUSE I AM NOT SURE YOU TO ADD THEM INTO A SEQUENCE YET. HOW CAN I JUST SAVE THE TRACK I MADE INTO THE PROGRAM WITHOUT THIS ERROR?

  • hello again , and once again thanks for the help. quick question.. i am having questions on how to save my samples and my songs so they pull up when i open a program.. they pull up but there is no sounds in the program when i try to playit

  • @isaacpavlicek Do you have a memory card or hard drive in your mpc? Are you running jjos? if so what version and did you pay for it?

  • i have no manual nd have no idea how to get started ??

    help plzz

  • this is rad man. thanks for all these tutorials

  • How do I remove it from my mpc?

  • hey would you recommend this as a beginning unit?

  • @johnzzy552 yes.

  • hi... i just bought a mpc100 with the jj os 3.14... i have an akai manual and the jj os manual and wow... it is REALLY complicated (at least it seems as that)... do i need to buy a flash card in order to save my programs? the mpc camed with the 128mb upgrade... as well i am not sure if the best thing is to just read the akai manual or to just read the jj os manual... (one is 107 pages, the other is around 50)... uf, a lot of time spending, but for sure it will take its regards

  • @mynmyself just jumping in to comment here... your mpc should have come with a quick start manual. i'd start with that.

  • @potissimus mmm, thanks! i bought it second hand so it doesnt come with the getting started manual, but i suppose that on google i will find it without any problem...

  • @mynmyself i'll send you a link in your messages.

  • @potissimus wow man! thanks a lot!

  • @mynmyself you're welcome. if you need the regular manual too, let me know and i'll send you a link for that too. take care

  • @potissimus thanks man! its not necessary, i do have the regular one and a jj os1 and 2

  • I downloaded jj os, but I don't have a password, I thought it was free?

  • @princep JJOS is free. JJOS1, JJOS2 and JJOS2XL are not free. Each JJOS has multiple versions. The current versions are: JJOS v3.12 (free), JJOS1 v4.99L, JJOS2 v1.31, JJOS2XL v1.40. Hope that helps.

  • I have downloded jj os1 but how do I load jj os 1 to my cf card? Can't find that info anywhere! Everyone suggests installing jj os, and then moves on without explaining how to thoroughly install it. Please help.

  • @flybry1 Copy the file to the main directory on your CF card, put the card in your mpc then Turn the power on while pressing down the WINDOW button

Press the REC button - the MPC1000 will start processing the update and will then re-boot automatically with the JJ OS.

  • is there any other way because i cant get to jjos2 can i buy sum beats or drum i can download to it

  • @ramscvp I'm not sure i understand your question.

  • i need some advices. i used to make my beats with FL studio. but now i want to switch to hardware. first i wanted to buy the MPC 1000 but its to expensive for me (im a student). is the AKAI XR20 good for beginners? im really thinking about buying it. pls help me.

  • I would pick up a used MPC 500 before i'd ever consider a xr20. You can grab a used mpc 500 on ebay for about the same price as an xr20 new.

  • is it just me or does this guy blink like twice the whole video?

  • Got me there.

  • thanks a lot for your help! if you made a dvd, i'd buy it. But thanks for the free info.

  • i've been tryin to get jj os 4 my 1000 n i keep gettin a link to free computer checkup where can i get jj os

  • Google this: MPC1000 JJOS

    And its the first link.

  • sorry i forgot to say, online alot of people advise to get 256mb instead of 128mb, will this work? thanks again

  • Yes you put 256mb into your mpc but it will only use half of it. If you go on ebay and type in mpc 1000 ram you'll find what you need.

  • i have few more question about my mpc can u IM on yahoo instant messenger tyreegrant2005 thx alot

  • Send me a message with your questions and i'll see what i can do.

  • hi can you send me a link to the ram you brought or just give me all the info i need, so i dont get the wrong one? thanks very much

  • what are the benifits of paying for the password for the jj os 4.99 system?

  • Well if you made it to there website i would say read the comparison chart. If you don't think you need those great features then use the free version otherwise chip in. You'll get features that would otherwise only be on the mpc 2500 models.

  • thanks for the quick response. already checked it out and payed for the os1.

  • okay another question, i made a sequence on the mpc and i now want to save it to lets just say itunes, everytime i connect my mpc to my computer it just saves as a (seq) file and wont play, any ideas on what i can do?

  • theres 2 ways to go, either you can just create a wave file in your mpc and move it to your computer, or the other ways would be to connect your audio outs to the audio inputs on your computer. I'd have to see some pictures of your setup to know exactly what your doing wrong.

  • how do you connect the vinyl to the MPC and how do you chop the sample and change the pitch, do you do it on the MPC or a certain programme, someone please answer in detail. thanks

  • There are inputs for your record player on the MPC. You can pitch and chop your sample on the MPC or in software, it just depends on your work flow.

  • If I have samples cant I just load them into the MPC? I am also a noob when it comes to this and I have recently purchased a MPC 1000 but dont have anything else besides a computer :S

  • You'll need at least a memory card to save your samples on.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok well I also have a Akai HDM10 and 80GB Hard Drive with mounts, a memory compact flash card , 128 MB sampler memory, and some hiphop samples I also bought. Do I still need a keyboard?

  • You don't have to have a keyboard to make music on the mpc, but it does give you allot more options.

  • what kind of keyboard do you recommend?

  • something with midi in and out keyboards rang from very low end to super high end, it just depends on what kind of sound your looking for.

  • Im looking for any kind os quality sound. Can you tell me what kind of speakers that are sorta affordable that I can purchase to go with my MPC? and maybe a name brand for keyboard nothing to fancy just something to get me started

  • FYI,

None of the JJ OS's will add sound generating capabilities to the MPC 1000. No matter the OS the MPC utilizes samples only to make sound.

  • but with os2 ans xl you can modulate which means you can turn about anything including static into music.

  • True,

All I'm saying is you need some type of sample as a source tone. Even if it's a simple sine wave.

None of the OS's have built in oscillators.

  • d.a.r.e. to sponsor bud light

    X }

  • Sorry im a massive noob to all this but can u please explain waht jjos actully does for the mpc, or send me a link that will answer my question

  • JJ OS is an operating system for your MPC that gives it many of the features that are otherwise only available in the higher end MPC Models. Just google JJ OS for more info.

  • what out bound gear do I need to need to start up?? I just my lab top is that gonna work?? please help. i am looking into buying a mpc and it's very hard to find info for beginners. please email me, thanks for the videos

  • You can but its allot easier if you have at least a few keyboards. Or you can always get a controller for you computer and use ableton.

  • Finally a good tutorial! thanks! i've been running v2.2 from akai and it was soo hard. thanks again!

  • Go to the JJOS website and fallow the instructions.

  • how do i install JJOS on the mpc?

  • you can pick one up used with out very many upgrades for around $600 or less. You can pick up the older blue one for around 350 to 400 but make sure the pads have been upgraded.

  • alright man thanx, just out of curiosity, wut if the pads arent upgraded? does that mess everything up? im asking kuz im BRAND new to this, i wouldnt know the difference at all..oh and where is a good place to buy one at?

  • the blue mpc pads die out after while and if they haven't been upgraded, they'll die out on you as well.

If your looking for used ebay works out.

  • alright thanx, is there n e way u can upgrade them ureself? i'll check out ebay as soon as i get a chance, is there n e thing else i should look out 4 when buying one? that memory thing u say u have to download, does that come w/ the mpc? that jj os 1

  • guitar center

  • its either that our the box.

  • Well yeah man, accept no imitators, Carlo Rossi is IT

  • Load The JJ OS on to A Compact Flash card stick it in your MPC Then turn the power on while pressing down the WINDOW button

Press the REC button - the MPC1000 will start processing the update and will then re-boot automatically with the JJ OS. Thats for 3.08
