Sure a kid can play a piano.. Sure they press all the correct keys. You can play something Yes. It takes YEARS sometimes Lifetimes to master passion grace and style. All these kids you see on youtube have not found this yet. To be a master like Horowitz or Gould is nearly impossable.. I know this may strike you in a bad way but it is the truth,,
todays kids have an unfair advantage of computer use that gives them the ease to use both hands. if we knew how to type at age 5 we would probably have the same coordination
@nasim1473 hahah right nah man I think alot of it has to do with the exposure they get. I'm 24 and when I was younger you had to buy cds to listen this and you sure as hell couldn't watch this without lucking out going to a piano concert.
Thats the difference these kids can surf the web for hours and watch people play this stuff and read comments or also valuable get evaluated by others.
omfg diis is absolutely ahmazin!! hahas im playin da song piece && i hav a sudden urge 2 go practice... =/ hahas once again omfg!! totally stunned <33
wow it appears she has a very loose wrist which is essential to playing this piece well. Has she done alot of technique practice? (does her teacher stress it?) bravo
Well yes, she has phenomenal technique, but beyond that there's no emotion whatsoever, because the line stays at forte or fortissimo the whole time. Where's the phrasing and musicianship?
And while she's nine she should still learn how to at least do some phrasing and dynamics; it's not that hard to back off the phrase/section to add contrast; that you can teach to a 6 year old.
how ols is she here? it isn t yet the right tempo, a little slow and the fingers does not prepare precisely , are too much up in sky but she has the right guidance in the arms and is completely relaxed as it should be. Good teacher she has !!!! and hope she will continue to progress quick as till now.... good luck to this young pianist
holy moly im too stunned ... i mean i play like crap after 13 years of lessons that she can do in one day :) this settles it if im pregnant, my womb baby is getting some classical music and of course not complete without the Beatles'. her lines are so clean, I can hear all the notes even if it fast tempo
Good control! Great staccato! Sit higher (especially if you are not going to use the pedals) and this will allow more power to the fingers rather than stopping at the wrist. Also, use your 4th finger on the chromatic scales (for example if you are ascending from C in the right hand play with these fingers: 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-1-2-3-4-1-2 etc.) This can be applied to other parts and will help you play faster and softer (if you need). If you would like more help, please send message.
Impressive technique; wish it was more musical with more dynamics, better sense of phrase shape, etc. There are lots of 9-year-olds who can do this, and many have teachers who insist on more shaping of the sound. Hope she doesn't just turn out to be a machine!
OMG you're so awesome for a nine year old! You're like better than most teenagers probably! It kind of sounds like you're playing mostly a chromatic scale though. I may be mistaken... I have hearing problems i think!
BrusselsSouth what is the matter with you? You don't insult a 9 year old!!! She's got mad talent!!!! Sheez! Don't try to find mistakes in people or they'll just tell you off.
Very, cute! I can't believe you're only nine! I'm teaching this same piece to one of my students and they are 15. How long did it take you to learn this?

Creo que la niña tiene muy buena técnica para la edad que tiene. De todas formas sigo pensando que los orientales tienen una capacidad impresionante para aprender música y técnica pero les falta musicalidad. Deberían complementar más la técnica con otras cualidades interpretativas.
Rough translation of what robjdom said (and this is NOT my opinion): "I believe that the girl has very good technique for her age. Of all nationalities, I still believe that the orientals have an impressive technical capabilities but are lacking in musicality. They should complement technique with interpretive ability.
Then my reply to rob-j-dumb is that you're watching a 9-year-old. Be impressed at technical ability, and trust that mature interpretation will come with maturity. For now, take it for what it is: a very challenging piece being played very well by someone who is very young. It's adorable. Don't dump on it.
So cute and so unbelievably talented !!!!
