Sure a kid can play a piano.. Sure they press all the correct keys. You can play something Yes. It takes YEARS sometimes Lifetimes to master passion grace and style. All these kids you see on youtube have not found this yet. To be a master like Horowitz or Gould is nearly impossable.. I know this may strike you in a bad way but it is the truth,,

todays kids have an unfair advantage of computer use that gives them the ease to use both hands. if we knew how to type at age 5 we would probably have the same coordination

@nasim1473 hahah right nah man I think alot of it has to do with the exposure they get. I'm 24 and when I was younger you had to buy cds to listen this and you sure as hell couldn't watch this without lucking out going to a piano concert.

Thats the difference these kids can surf the web for hours and watch people play this stuff and read comments or also valuable get evaluated by others.

Well yes, she has phenomenal technique, but beyond that there's no emotion whatsoever, because the line stays at forte or fortissimo the whole time. Where's the phrasing and musicianship?

how ols is she here? it isn t yet the right tempo, a little slow and the fingers does not prepare precisely , are too much up in sky but she has the right guidance in the arms and is completely relaxed as it should be. Good teacher she has !!!! and hope she will continue to progress quick as till now.... good luck to this young pianist

Good control! Great staccato! Sit higher (especially if you are not going to use the pedals) and this will allow more power to the fingers rather than stopping at the wrist. Also, use your 4th finger on the chromatic scales (for example if you are ascending from C in the right hand play with these fingers: 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-1-2-3-4-1-2 etc.) This can be applied to other parts and will help you play faster and softer (if you need). Impressive technique; wish it was more musical with more dynamics, better sense of phrase shape, etc. There are lots of 9-year-olds who can do this, and many have teachers who insist on more shaping of the sound. Hope she doesn't just turn out to be a machine!
